  • "This was our second visit to Honeypot and it didn't disappoint."

Its a lovely property situated in a quiet rural setting away from the main tourist areas . But equally they are all very accessible if that's what you want.

The property

Honeypot Cottage, formerly the village Sunday school building, is an attractive stone-built cottage located on a hillside overlooking the charming village of Brigsteer in the Lake District National Park in Cumbria.

With lovely views from the elevated garden of the Lyth Valley, this cottage is perfect for a romantic escape or family holiday.

Upstairs in the cottage are two elegantly furnished bedrooms, one king-size bedroom with en-suite bathroom and a twin bedroom.

On the ground floor this property has a wet room with a walk-in shower, basin and WC.

Also on the ground floor is a cosy sitting room with a woodburning stove, a perfect country kitchen with Falcon Range cooker and dining table.

Outside there are plenty of places to enjoy the garden with steps leading up to a lawned area and patio.

Just a short walk down the hill, (longer on the way back up!) takes you to the village centre where there is a super local pub serving excellent food and ales.

The “auld grey town of Kendal” is just 5 miles away and the tip of Lake Windermere is approx. 13 miles where you can visit the Aquarium of the Lakes or hop on board the Windermere Steamer and cruise up the lake to Bowness or Ambleside.

The great attraction of this lovely cottage is the excellent walking in the Southern Lakes, fantastic local pubs and lots of interesting villages such as Cartmel to visit.

An outstanding cottage, perfect at any time of the year.

About the location

BRIGSTEER

Helsington 1.5 miles; Levens 2.1 miles; Kendal 5 miles.

Brigsteer is a hamlet between the towns of Helsington and Levens and about five miles from Kendal in Cumbria. Brigsteer is located on the edge of the Lyth valley with Scout Scar overlooking the village itself. Village amenities include a village hall and a local pub called The Wheatsheaf Inn. There are still three working farms in the village of Brigsteer with many more developments having been built since. Nearby Levens has more amenities including a general store/newsagent and a pub. Levens consists of a huddle of fine, stone-built traditional houses, cottages and barn conversions surrounded by unspoilt countryside, with varied flora and fauna and a nature reserve providing beautiful walking country. Kendal is further away being known as the Southern Gateway to the Lakes, being ideally placed for exploring South Lakeland, the Yorkshire Dales and beyond.
