  • "It was amazing, we stayed almost a week and enjoyed the house, full kitchen, dryer, washing machine"

  • "Really enjoyed our stay for our family of 5."

Lovely well kept cottage in a lovely quaint village. Opposite a nice friendly pub (literallly 20yrds opposite) and in a great location to explore the lake district and beyond. Cottage exceeded our expectations. Car parking is great but could be clearer in where to park (we had a friendly neighbour point us to where to park) . Sofas are bit worn . Comfy beds, lovely shower (there are 2 showers in the property) and all the utensils provided (plus a dolce gusto coffee machine) Highly recommend

  • "Egremont cottage is based in South Lakeland in a reasonably quiet location with ideal access to North Lakes, Lancaster and Morecambe."

It’s a village I lived in for a few years, so was nice to revisit knowing the area very well, see the changes and developments. The cottage is well equipped over 3 floors with 3 spacious bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Kitchen has everything you should need to make your stay feel like home from home. The only downside to the property that there is no garden or outdoor space other than a parking space however, the village is friendly and there are some nice walks on your doorstep. The only thing I would suggest to the owner would be to have a mirror in the bedrooms next to a plug socket so guests can do their hair. Thank you for a relaxing break, just what we needed.

Hi, Many thanks for the feedback. Really glad you enjoyed the cottage and had a relaxing stay. We’ll sort a mirror for the bedrooms, sorry we missed that. All the best. Property Owner

  • "Great stay at Egremont Cottage!"

Other feedback suggested that this would be a less than an enjoyable stay and in some ways I was very much looking forward to experiencing 'the worst stay ever' as described by others. We came away being very disappointed. Far from this being the dreadful experience expected we really enjoyed the week at the cottage. Very homely, very comfortable, great facilities, spot on location with a pub literally across the road, we could quite happily have stayed much longer! Many thanks for allowing us to share your cottage.

Hi Phil, thanks for the feedback. Great to hear you enjoyed your stay. We hope you come back soon. Property Owner

  • "It was the worst stay ever!"

We stayed for two days and paid for the week. The boiler was not working and we couldn’t use the bath. We were told to use the shower. We complained said he would fix it. Didn’t have a clue. Said someone would come back to fix it that day. Phoned the next day and said he was coming. We were out. The neighbours were rude and hostile. We were that fed up we just went home. The worst.

Disappointing to receive this feedback. But just so we are clear. I attended the property within 2 hrs of you reporting an issue. The hot water was working when I left. I then received a call to say it was still not working, I then arranged for a heating engineer to attend the next day. Bearing in mind it was New Year’s Eve. This was all communicated back to Sykes. When the heating engineer arrived you had gone out, when I rang you, you informed me it was now working. So I’m not sure what more I could do. (Noting the boiler had been serviced within the last month) Regarding the neighbours we had complaints that you were letting your dogs run free on their property and not picking up their mess, which I reported back to Sykes. When I rang the neighbors to apologize they were Very polite and had said they had politely asked you to refrain. I understand you also lost one of your dogs and the neighbors helped you find it in the village. We have very friendly neighbors in the village so again your comments are a real surprise.
