"We had a wonderful stay at Caton Lane House."
Our party was made up of 6 adults and 2 children who loved being able to sleep in the attic room! The house was well-equipped and very clean. Arrival was smooth and the introductory booklet very informative. Cark itself is a small village but has everything you need with a shop, pub and playpark. We found it to be an excellent base to explore the nearby area. Parking at the house is an issue, but we knew about this beforehand and were able to easily find parking around the village. Overall, a lovely house and we had a fab weekend. I’m sure we will be back!

"Great stay in the pretty village of Cark."
House is lovely and spacious with very comfortable beds, high quality linens, big soft fluffy towels and well appointed bathrooms. Perfect for our party of 6 ladies to enjoy Cartmel races (shuttle bus 4minutes walk). Impressive kitchen facilities with top quality cookware, crockery, glassware etc. Wine fridge was handy. Good coffee machine too! Everything provided for a perfect stay. Plus the bonus of The Engine pub with its decent food practically next door!
Thank you for your kind comments. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay. We hope to welcome you again. The Lakelovers Owner Relations Team Property Owner

"We had a lovely family Christmas at Caton Lane House."
It was perfect for all our family and dogs. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything we needed including Prosecco and Christmas napkins! The Christmas tree and other decorations were a lovely gesture and it definitely had the feel of a family home rather than rental property. It was great to have the pub next door and we found a lovely 30-40 minute walk across a track to Cartmel. An outside tap would have been handy to wash the dogs off but we just let them dry in the car and maybe an additional heater for the attic room. The only downside was the British weather and transport issues cut our holiday short by a couple of days as we had such a good time we would have liked to stay longer. All in all a great property in a great location.

"We absolutely loved our stay at Caton Lane House, the house was immaculate and very homely."
All the beds were extremely comfortable and it was lovely arriving to the heating already on. The only couple of issues we had were parking and the loft bedroom was very very cold and the guests staying in this room ended up having to squeeze into other rooms, another heater in the loft room would have been better but overall we would definitely stop at Caton Lane again but with less guests so the loft room was not needed. We had trips into Grange over sands and Cartmel which are both well worth a visit. Thank you for a lovely stay.

"From the moment we entered the property, we knew it was going to be a magical stay- and it was."
The cottage, although listed and picturesque, had all the modern conveniences you could possibly need, from a fully modern kitchen with appliances such as a coffee machine, to comfortable, modern beds and a strong power shower. Every last thing had been thought of, even takeaway menus and a handy list of contact numbers, as well as board games for us to play were provided. The cottage was conveniently situated to easily get to the lakes and Morecombe, and we had some lovely days out. All in all, we had a great few days and we're already planning when we can book again.

Cark is well served by the Furness line railway, and features pretty streamside strolls, lovely walks to the local coastline overlooking Morecambe Bay, two fine traditional old pubs and a scattering of small shops. It is a very short stroll from here to Holker Hall, the stately home of Lord Cavendish, whose house, gardens and deer park are open to the public and also now home to a licensed brasserie The Ilex.
