"It wasn't very clean, my husband had to hoover everywhere, including both couches, as we were getting covered in hair."
We had to wash cutlery and everything we used as it was caked in food. Food crumbs in the handles of the fridge freezer. The bedding had marks all over it in the master bedroom. We couldn't use the shower as it was difficult to turn on and off, we couldn't close bedroom two as there was no barrel in door ( informed owner). The trim on the ceiling was falling off in places. I could go on. We have had 6 different lodges in South lakeland Village and have never had issues like this. I was really disappointed, to be honest, this holiday was to relax, not clean. I have cancer and have to be careful about germs, etc, as I could end up in the hospital and as you can imagine each holiday I have is very important to me, to make memories with my family. Unless something was done, I won't recommend.

"We enjoyed our stay at Sherwood 33, the lodge was perfect for what we needed well equipped with everything you need."
Both bedrooms where a good size and lovely beds. The bedrooms could do with a mirror in each one and the second bedroom didn’t have a latch/door barrel so you couldn’t keep the door close. We ended up having to buy a stairgate to keep the dogs out the bedroom. There’s a lovely size cupboard just as you enter for storage which would benefit from some coat hooks in there to hang coats up after coming in. We would return to sherwood 33.

"We were disappointed with the lodge, it was well enough appointed, clean and very well furnished but we should have been warned that the lodge is constructed with flimsy walls that let every sound through and that it situated right next to the M6 which was noisy 24/7, not to mention parties in a neighbouring lodge until the early hours, so we got no sleep at all till we bought decent earplugs."
From what we read we stupidly assumed that we would be able to walk around the lake but found that with properties right up to the lake that was impossible. We had to hunt for instructions for the tv etc, they should be left out where they can be accessed easily. Two of the tvs just said no signal when we tried to use them and the one in the en suite bedroom kept pixilating, we took cds to play music but there was nothing to play them on. I feel that there's an assumption that everyone is technology savvy and unfortunately we are not, perhaps a note in the literature about the property should explain exactly what is available, we could have taken our own cd player at least. Sorry this seems so negative but we went to away to help my partner to recover from cancer treatment and unfortunately we came home more tired and certainly not rested. We have used Sykes before and have always had good properties and good holidays. This hasn't put me off using Sykes again but I will certainly have to do more homework to find out about the property and where it is situated before I book.
Hi Sheila I'm sorry you found it disappointing. Any issues you had I would have been happy to assist with you were given my number and sykes number on booking to contact us, if you didn't contact me I can't resolve any issues, the party would have been an easy call to security to get them to turn off, cd player is not listed on accessories and smart TVs are listed maybe you clicked the wrong setting on the tvs. The lodges on the park are all the same pvc construction shells. I do advertise this lodge elsewhere and get nothing but praise for the comfortable beds and great nights sleep my guests have. I feel the negative feedback is very unfair as most of it is down to your misunderstanding it is listed as close to the m6 hence easy access. Apologies it wasn't as you expected and I do hope your husband recovers. Many thanks jamie. Property Owner
