  • "Just arrived back from our week stay in Fell Foot Cottages all 10 of us plus two dogs."

Everything was just perfect for all family members, comfortable bedrooms and soft furnishings throughout and the kitchen was really stocked well with everything you needed to make an enjoyable break. Only negatives would be the 2 x barbecues we’re not useable luckily we brought our own, and the outside furniture is a little tired although this did not at all spoil our enjoyment of the beautiful gardens throughout. A little gem of a property in a beautiful peaceful location.

  • "A fabulous week at a top, top, quality property which exceeded all of our expectations."

The Hot Tub and the Sauna were most welcome after our days out or just chilling in the garden enjoying the gorgeous scenery around the south Lakes from the elevated surroundings we had there. We loved everything about the place and the location was superb close to Grange for the shops and a day out in Windermere too. We do hope we can revisit one day and would recommend wholeheartedly to anyone thinking of going to Fell Foot. You won’t be disappointed topped off with Danny & Janette being great and most welcoming hosts aswell. Nothing is a problem for them. In giving a review and putting numbers to it, it really is a 10/10 place to stay.

  • "We had a great week in Fell Foot at the beginning of June."

5 middle aged mountain bikers out for a weeks biking in the Lakes and we weren't disappointed. The property was perfect for our needs with 5 en-suite bedrooms being top of the wish list. The hot tub was used on a regular basis to help soothe the aches and pains after a day in the hills. All in, the house covered our needs and the location is perfect with it being quieter than many Lake District towns. We'll be back hopefully. Thanks.

  • "This property was fantastic!"

Based on our travel needs it was centrally located and easy to get around. Beautiful setting, lovely views and gardens. The property had exactly what we needed, 5 rooms, 5 bathrooms with an additional bathroom on the main floor with a shower as well. Kitchen was ideal and accommodated all 10 of us. Hot tub and Sauna were nice features, outdoor areas and the indoor fireplace were also used. Can't say enough about the village and the easy walk to the Heft pub. Easy parking for two vehicles, lockbox and access to the keys were no problem. Easy to contact the owners if you have any questions, lovely people. Highly recommend this facility and location!!

  • "The location of the property is ideal for the local pub, shops and great tea shops."

The views are stunning, even on a wet day, especially if you are sat in the fabulous hot tub. The property was a perfect fit for my 60th birthday, with lots of friends and family joining my husband and I in the celebrations. There is lots of space to gather and lots of space to grab a moment to yourself. Loved the sauna and each bedroom has an on suite, with an extra bathroom off the kitchen. Lots of attention to detail, for example an Aga and an electric oven, two fridges and freezer's, huge comfortable beds and lovely pillows Lots of space to park many cars, which is always a bonus in the Lakes. We all enjoyed our stay at FellFoot and will fully recommend

  • "This was a fantastic find by my Sister, and really did suit our needs as a large family base for our exploration of the Lakes."

All the bedrooms were very well furnished and the beds were especially comfortable. The owners were lovely and it was nice to have them check on us to make sure all was OK, and when a minor issue with the hot tub arose, they were quick to get back to us with a solution - though the weather meant we weren't able to use it again! A couple of left items were reported to me very quickly and have arranged for them to be returned via Sykes. The layout of the house meant we could all have our own space, but often we were found in the kitchen around the ample dining table (with space to spare). We would suggest that maybe the sofas in the living room need looking at as one especially sinks very low when used! But this is a minor point and did not distract from the overall greatness of the property. We may be back in the future, perhaps in the more summery months next time!

  • "A beautiful house with exceptional facilities."

Fell Foot was an excellent base for exploring the Lakes and everybody was catered for in the form of personal space and fantastic bathrooms. Parking was very good, but we would have liked the electric gates to have been functioning, as we had dogs with us. We didn’t use the hot tub, but enjoyed the facility of a balcony with a beautiful outlook. The lounge furniture was comfortable but the settees are in need of replacement. The kitchen was spacious and very well equipped, although we struggled a little with the electric AGA. Our group was all adult, and our elderly mother should have been with us. She would have had issues with the couple of steps from kitchen to lounge. The property is listed as wheelchair inaccessible but an idea of the few steps would have been useful. Any small points were vastly outweighed by the positives of this fabulous holiday house

  • "We were 5 couples from Wirral who came to stay for the week."

We were greeted by the lovely owners and shown around the house. and also told us about and easy round robin walk to do (which we did). The house was lovely. There were lots of things to do around the lakes and we enjoyed a few evenings in the hot tub. There is a place in the village that sells home-made jams and pickles and also sells stone ornaments along with fresh eggs. There is an honesty box for you to pay. The house is a great base for exploring the area. We all had a great time and we will definitely be back.

Plenty of room for 4 couples plus toddler and dog to stay in comfort and privacy. I was very impressed by the two large fridge freezers and a table large enough for us all to sit round with space to spare. A peaceful, beautiful and non touristy area in the Lake District. A great place for an extended family holiday.

The house was perfect for our family, a real home from home. We have all loved the sauna and hot tub, the comfy beds and the sun on the balcony. The location has been perfect for exploring the area. We've spent a lot of time by Lake Windermere and visited Coniston, Cartmel and Grange. For future users the loose steps to the lower garden need to be repaired, and it would also help to have the GPS coordinates for the car entrance. (I'm not complaining, just tips.) It was a nice touch having a call from the owners to ask if everything was ok. Our youngest family member loved watching the sheep and birds. Great being able to walk down the pub. Loved the friendliness in the area.

Unfortunately this was misunderstood on the telephone and we had no twin bedrooms. I appreciate that requests are best made by email as phone calls can be misinterpreted. After ringing Sykes, a very pleasant lady came to rectify within 40 mins. I was very satisfied with Sykes’s speedy response and follow up calls. Fell Foot was spotless, beautifully decorated and lived up to all expectations. The Spa was a bit of fun and the sauna appreciated after a long hike. Thank you for our wonderful stay at Fell Foot. The accommodation is brilliant and so welcoming and beautifully equipped - very spacious, with five good en-suite bedrooms, a large and comfortable lounge and well- fitted kitchen/diner, lovely gardens with various outside seating areas, space for 5/6 cars, and the bonus of hot-tub and sauna (we only made use of the former, which was very good).

The kitchen is well equipped and all adults fitted easily around the large kitchen table. Perhaps two refuse bins instead of one would be beneficial. It would be a great place to spend Christmas if the weather allowed. We all had a fantastic time and would definitely go again. Recently finished to high standard with almost everything like new. Four of the bedrooms are en-suite and one in the hall, so a bathroom for everyone. All the rooms are a good size (not to big or small), including the lounge. The kitchen Diner layout is excellent in that you can sit everyone around in comfort and still work the kitchen with ease The location is also excellent with elevated views to the distance which can be enjoyed from the south facing balcony. The local pub is also just a short walk from the bottom of the garden. There is little to fault with this charming, well proportioned and located house which really worked for our needs.

  • "The property was amazing!"

It's in a lovely location in a quieter part of the Lake District but within easy drive of the main attractions. It's beautifully furnished and our teenage children made great use of the hot tub and sauna whilst my husband and I enjoyed our glass(es) of wine alfresco in the lovely gardens, accompanied by the sound of birdsong and the sheep and calves in the neighbouring field! The owners - Mr and Mrs Lesser - were very welcoming and have done a magnificent job in renovating and decorating the house to such a high standard. We all agreed that the beds were the most comfortable we've ever slept in and the little touches - such as toiletries, games and guides - were much appreciated. The local pub was still closed when we stayed but is apparently due to open shortly; however, the opportunity to spend evenings just relaxing in the lovely surroundings of the property itself was welcome after days spent exploring the fells. We've been to the Lake District many times but this was the first time we've enjoyed such glorious weather throughout. That, together with this wonderful house, made it a family holiday to remember. We've already recommended it to friends and family - we will be back!

  • "We and our family stayed at Fell Foot for a week in August 2020."

Mr & Mrs Lesser were most welcoming; everything had been prepared fully, making sure that we had all we needed for the week. We numbered 6 adults and two youngsters aged 11 and 7. The accommodation was excellent, there being 5 double bedrooms, 4 of which were en-suite. The fixture and fittings were very stylish but homely; and the kitchen was fully-equipped, with sufficient space for us all to sit and eat together comfortably. The lounge was equally welcoming, with a TV and many guide-books to keep us occupied in the evenings. Outside, on the hillside, just a few metres walk up the path from the front door, were a table and chairs ideally positioned for a view of the neighbouring hills while enjoying an aperitif in the early evening sun. The location was ideal for exploring the southern lakes inc.Winderemere and Coniston, and was a short drive from Morecambe Bay and, in particular, Grange over Sands, a quaint town with lots of character and a lovely promenade walk. All in all, we spent a very enjoyable week in great surroundings; and even the couple of rainy days did not stop us from enjoying the wonderful features of the Lake District.
