  • "Beautiful property in the centre of the town."

Property well equipped and very comfortable.

  • "We stayed here for a week and September."

And it was a really good apartment, modern clean And comfortable. Easy access to places roundabout restaurants. There's a tesco across the road, only thing is the very steep stairs But there is not a problem for us.

  • "Overall a great stay."

The apartment was a relatively new conversion and was well thought out and really clean. The apartment had everything we needed and the beds were comfortable. It was surprisingly spacious and gave everyone plenty of space. We only used the kitchen once to cook a pizza but it did seem well equipped for anyone who wanted to do more. The washer/dryer is in a utility room on the floor below and was useful after a wet day out. Located right in the centre of Kendal (above a bank), so no parking, but we used the local council car park which was free between 1730 and 0830, from there less than two mins walk to the accommodation. For electric car drivers there’s approx. four chargers on this car park with are free to use, you just need your own cable. One of the best holiday accommodations we’ve booked so would happily stay again. :-)

  • "Although the apartment is very clean/modern and has all the facilities required, none of us slept in the 2 nights we were here and therefore wouldn’t recommend."

The noise from the main town/street was unbearable and although we expect some noise over a weekend stay, we were unable to sleep due to noise from pubs/taxis/takeaways, which went on until after 3.30am. I am surprised none of the other reviews make reference to this, as we have never left a negative review before but thought others should be made aware. This apartment would be perfect if the bedrooms were sat back where the main lounge/kitchen is located.

  • "Very central location in the heart of Kendal."

This top floor flat is light and spacious. It has recently been renovated so everything is clean and new. However there are a few maintenance issues, evidence of leaks and the laminate flooring needs fixing. The beds were very comfortable but noise from the pubs across the road kept us awake at the weekend. Still it’s a great location.

  • "We had a wonderful stay in Kendal."

We booked last minute and I hoped that the listing details would be as good as they sounded - and they absolutely were. The apartment was so welcoming, comfortable and filled with fittings and furnishings that showed that the property is loved and cared for and the finer details have been carefully considered throughout. It’s so nice to come somewhere that has lovely crockery, cutlery and most importantly good mugs!! The apartment was spotless from top to bottom. Kendal is the perfect base to explore the lakes from. We certainly made the most of our National Trust membership and tagged in plenty of other adventures along the way. Although the property doesn’t have a designated parking space, this was never a problem. The 3 day parking permit which can be bought so easily from the machines, is such a good initiative by the local council. If you are visiting, this is a definite must do! The weather was hot when we first arrived so we had to have the windows open at night to start with, there was some noise from the high street into the night but it wasn’t the end of the world. When the windows were shut there was none! Some lovely places to eat and drink in Kendal. The welcome book was a great help to get us started and we wandered and found even more. I would certainly return to the property and recommended to family and friends when we got home. A much needed, enjoyable break, was underpinned by the superb space at Helton Fell. Thank you!

  • "We had a lovely stay at Helton Fell which we booked with Grizedale to accommodate a party of six."

The parking is easy and is located close by. The apartment has a wonderful open plan living area which can easily accommodate a large group. Smart modern bathrooms and comfortable beds. We particularly enjoyed the Brewery Arts for drinks in the sunshine and Comida for tapas. We also had a walk from Scout Scar to Brigsteer for lunch at the pub there and enjoyed some spectacular views of the Lakes. Thoroughly recommend the Kendal Loft Apartments and hope to return again next year.

  • "It’s a delightful property which was purposefully designed for comfort and convenience right in the heart of Kendal."

We spent a lot of time in the living room reading and gazing over the rooftops towards the hills. We wanted to learn about the southern gateway of the Lake District and Helton Fell was the perfect place for our research.

Thank you so much for this lovely feedback and I hope your research was successful. Property Owner

Had a really enjoyable time. Some easy minor repairs ( that blind!, leaky en-suite shower, stains on bedroom ceiling, replace Brita filters) would make a higher score.

Thanks for your feedback Anne and rest assured we are on with the repairs you mention! Thank you so much for staying with us. Property Owner

  • "Stayed in Helton Fell for a cycling trip in The Lakes and we we weren’t disappointed."

We were a group of 8 so took over two apartments but loved that there was plenty of space for us all to relax in our apartment as well as eat and enjoy our time together after a hard day on the hills! Fortunately the owner helped us find a great local electric bike rental company for two of the group. The parking was perfect, just a short walk, and the apartment seemed brand new, beautifully decorated and furnished as though the owner was decorating their own home with great attention to detail. We certainly felt at home in no time. The kitchen and living areas were bright and sunny with a wonderful view of the hills in the distance and the very comfortable bedrooms had great views for people watching on the streets outside. Being in the centre we were spoilt for bars and restaurants. Will definitely be making another trip to stay.

  • "Unrelated to this property, Sykes had already cancelled our original booking due to a leak, no apology cancelling so late on, we were left with trying to find an alternative."

We found that Helton Fell was available for the same period. The property itself is very centrally located, in the middle of the high street so easy access to everything in Kendal. It's well equipped, well finished, little extras like a Bose Link where you could play music was great. Very clean & tidy, plenty of seating which is comfortable, no shortage of kitchenware, plates, cuttlery, glasses etc. overall it was a great property. Our main issue, which to date we are still waiting for Sykes to acknowledge our complaint & confirm how they intend to deal with, the listing says king size bed in the main bedroom with zip link in the other bedroom that can be made up to a kingsize bed, neither are correct. We called the owner to see if we were doing something wrong, she confirmed that they are 2 twins, neither are or could be kingsize beds. It wasn't a big issue but on reviewing the listing the pictures had been taken to suggest the main bedroom was a kingsize bed, this is a deliberate mis-sell / false marketing of the property which I called out to Sykes, I asked for this to be logged as a complaint, to date we haven;t heard from Sykes, haven't had a complaint reference so assume they simply don't care & are happy to do nothing about it! The owner was lovely, exchanged a bunch of phone calls & she was always at the end of the phone & offered info when we asked. I would recommend this property as it really is a lovely, clean & comfy apartment but you will be staying in single beds.

  • "Helton Fell is a great location in the centre of Kendal."

Right opposite one of the best pubs in Kendal and a Tesco Express! The drop off point is right outside the entrance to the apartment; handy on arrival and departure. There are 2 sets of stairs up to the apartment, but we were prepared for that. The nearest car park is at the back of the property - 2 mins walk away. We were able to use our parking ticket for 7 days at many of the Southern Lakes car parks in and around Windermere, Grasmere and Ambleside which was a bonus having paid £35 for each car. The beds, linen and high spec of the property is notable, especially bathrooms and kitchen, which is well laid out and good for those like us who enjoy cooking. TV and WIFI access v good. The windows in the lounge area add a lot of natural light which is fabulous as well as good views, considering location within a town centre environment. Jayne was v helpful with our questions and the communication before and during our stay was extremely accurate and responsive. Thank you!

Thanks for the feedback Joanna and we look forward to welcoming you back soon Property Owner
