"The property was as described and obviously previous complaints on reviews had been rectified."
I left a note about the broken chair leg, maybe it wasn't reported by previous occupants but looked as though someone had tried to fix it. Little extras provided made a difference eg milk, flowers, salt and pepper. We enjoyed our stay and the location was good. Thank you.

"Nice, spacious and comfortable home with convenient parking space."
There are still no wooden spoons, despite previous comments. The Smart TV was not working in that it would not play on request, but just shut down. I phoned the owner to inform about this, but he was not able to help. I managed through trial and error and googling information, to reset the TV and then it allowed me to sign in to the channels. At most holiday homes, the channels are already enabled, which is much better. I wasn't sure if the thermostat was working as set to 17 degrees when I arrived and the house very warm! Generally a good stay, but some niggles.

"This could be a great property - good room sizes and location/parking."
It is warm and bed linen/property was mostly clean. It is let down by poor decoration with a plethera of nails/screws in the wall; the moth situation in front bedroom; unused curtain tracks left in the lounge; uncomfortable and broken seating particularly in lounge which moves as you sit in; mis matched furniture and crockery which give a jumble sale vibe - 2 tumblers that don't match; dinner plates which are too big for the dishwasher and only 3 uncracked mugs are the start. An apple corer and home made burger maker are not needed. Milk saucepan, wooden or silicone spoons, grater and whisk, baking tray and measuring jug much more appreciated. Other improvements could be smaller tables in the lounge where you need them to put coffee on, and comfortable seating that won't go flying as you sit down! The bedding in back bedroom is in poor condition and needs replacing. Both beds are really firm and the back room could do with matching minimal furniture and a headboard. We presume owner knew about the broken dining chair in the kitchen as it was wedged in by the wall. We discovered it on the first day as we swept the floor. The owners needs to ensure that there is enough crockery/glasses for 4 people - we would say 2 mugs each. A potentially super property but needs an overhaul. Anthony's comments earlier in September are totally accurate. Heartbreaking as this property could be so excellent with some updates.

"The property has potential to be very good, but is let down by very shoddy decoration and a lack of attention to detail."
The table in the lounge cannot be moved and is too far away from the chairs and therefore no use for placing drinks on. The cushions on the lounge chairs slide forward, as do the chairs themselves. The toilet roll holder in the en suite is hidden from view and there is only 1 towel rail. The sink in the shower room is tiny and only big enough to wash your hands. There are no bins in the bedrooms or lounge. There is no visitor's book or information folder. There needs to be a greater variety of drinking glasses. The garden is rather overgrown. Frankly, if the owners spent a few nights in the house they would quickly realise the shortcomings.

"The communication before our arrival, the location of the property, parking and layout was very good."
However, we had read previous comments about cleanliness so we took cloths and bleach...a good decision! We had to hoover the hall and lounge on arrival and clean the hob which detracted from the overall pleasant property. The beds were comfortable and linen fresh. The property is in need of decoration, a complete mix match of crockery with very few glasses. The en-suite shower was really good, after we had spent time cleaning it (the next occupants would have the benefit!). If decoration, suitable kitchen equipment and cleanliness could be improved wecwould return.

"A relaxing stay in Kendal."
Excellent travel directions from the owner. The house is not far from Kendal town centre and there were lots of ways to walk there; our favourite was via the castle. We liked having a view of the cricket pitch. Kendal is a lovely place, full of cafes, pubs, places to walk and with a super museum. Everyone we spoke to was friendly! The house was clean and tidy. As other reviews have mentioned, it would be helpful to provide some cleaning materials, washing up liquid and/or dishwasher tablets, a hairdryer and a cheese grater! The garden is lovely but could be glorious with a little more tender care (one of us is a gardener so couldn't help noticing). The bed was fabulously comfy. We slept better than at home! We would happily stay again.

"A nice house badly maintained."
Our main problem being badly affected by an outbreak of moths , We noticed a few flying about when we arrived but in days they were on the beds, towels and all over the upstairs the front bedroom being worst. We purchased the best spray recomend and it was very good, over 30 dead on one window ledge alone. Tried to phone owners and got no answer, l left a message but got no reply. By the time we were coming home the problem was getting going again. I wrote a note and left it on the table, but never heard anything more. I expect at least an apology. No cleaning material was left for us. I had brought some wipes and j clothes and did my best to remove the mold from the shower rail. I get the impression that the place probably started off clean at the beginning of the year as your feedback for early on was good but without any cleaning material people just didn't bother and the house was too big to keep clean during the stopover. A lovely house in an ideal spot, would l go again definitely NO. I feel sorry for the people booked to go and hope you will get it sorted.

"Lovely property which was very clean and well equipped."
The owner provided lots of information beforehand about access and the property, how to work the heating, where to park etc. Which was extremely helpful. It's only about 20 mins walk to the town centre where we took advantage of local shops takeaways and restaurants. The current £2 single fares on the bus was a bonus when visiting Ambleside, Bowness and Windermere. Altogether a lovely stay and we would return to this property.

"This was a great place to stay in Kendal ."
It was close enough to the town centre s view of the castle from the front windows of the house. The house itself was great ,well equipped kitchen, washing machine,dish washer. The bed was very comfortable,the whole house was spotlessly clean. I had a problem with the boiler on 2nd to last day there was no heating or hot water, but a quick call to the owners who talked me through how to get it all back up an running and rectified the problem. We definitely would stay again I would recommend booking this place

The beds were very comfortable. The sun lounge was a welcome bonus, especially as we benefited from a sunny week! Cricket lovers would enjoy having the Cricket Club opposite. Therefore, I would recommend this property without hesitation.

"Warm and spacious for 2 couples."
Liked the outside space and the view of the cricket.Adequate parking and garage was a bonus.However rather let down by a few things which could be easily remedied. Superficially clean but cobwebs on light fittings and behind fire.Shower track behind doors needs a good clean as black and mouldy. Some cleaning materials e.g.surface cleaner and dishwasher tablets would be useful. Tap in bathroom handbasin very wonky. Rather a random mix of crockery and glasses. Would prefer full matching sets.

"Missing a few of the essentials like food cupboards in the kitchen and a shelf in the bathroom to put your stuff on."
A soap dish in the shower room would also be useful. It’s typical of a holiday home that the owner has never actually experienced living in so a bit of a goldfish bowl with blinds that don’t work or are inaccessible and lightweight bedroom curtains that don’t block the morning light.

It is a nice warm cosy property. It was close enough to the town for us to walk in and a lovely pleasant walk to. A great base for a walking holiday. The only thing it didn't have or I didn't find was a hairdryer. Not a complaint, just an observation. It had everything else we could have asked for or wanted. Highly recommend

"The property was situated in a town I know well having lived there for 25 years."
The owner was most helpful when I contacted him about key collection. The property was clean and well maintained. In addition to the parking space there is a garage which although a little tight to get into I did use (I have Ford Focus some bigger cars may struggle).

"Really enjoyed our stay in this house."
Well placed for easy access to Kendal town centre and all shops, supermarkets etc. as well as just a short walk to the castle of which there was a great view from the house. We found that the WiFi worked well. The house was generally well stocked with equipment - the only minor things that we would have found useful was a few more pans, a cheese grater and a hair dryer - but nothing that we couldn't manage without. I would recommend staying here and wouldn't hesitate to go back.

"This is a good property which good be excellent with a few minor adjustments."
We were left a very nice bottle of red wine but there are no wine glasses so we had to purchase a couple from asda.The numbers of cups and glasses were not sufficient for two people let alone four.The little garden was a pleasant suntrap but there was no seating, fortunately wehad our camping chairs.The views over the cricket field up to the castle were lovely and the weather was kind.all in all it was an enjoyable holiday

The owner was very helpful with any queries which we had. The house is well placed in Kendal for the local shops in the high street and the Asda superstore. We recommend you try Frydays at 6 New Road, Kendal for excellent fish and chips.

Minor things, no WiFi, TV reception very poor and no vacuum cleaner. But excellent kitchen equipment. Plastic mattress protector a big no for me makes you very hot. Overall, very nice property, really enjoyed stay, nice welcome milk and few extras in fridge. Owner is very helpful. Amazing view of castle and cricket ground.

The owner is very helpful. Plastic mattress protector not great, make nights very hot. Everything else excellent, if really picky, a vacuum cleaner would be good. Clean, comfortable and warm.

The property
Perched in the historic town of Kendal in Cumbria is this delightful, two-bedroom, semi-detached house, Viewpoint.
Boasting a superb location within the Lake District National Park and enjoying picturesque country views, Viewpoint is a wonderful pet-friendly setting for couples or a family of four, plus their canine companion, for their next adventure to the Lakes.
Park-up in the off-road parking space available at the rear of the property, before making your way up the steps to your new home-from-home.
Be welcomed into the spacious open-plan living area, where you will find a well-equipped kitchen with all the appliances you will need to conjure up delicious feasts for your loved ones, including a handy dishwasher for those fuss-free clean-ups!
Settle down at the dining table for four to tuck-in to your meal, or if the weather is nice, why not dine alfresco out on the private patio where you can savour the last of the day’s sunshine?

Our local cricket cub can sometimes been seen across the way for those that may want to sit in on a game.

Venture further into the National Park and spend the day at Windermere, where you can try your hand at a fantastic selection of watersports on the famous lake, including wakesurfing, kayaking and paddleboarding, soak up the breath-taking views from Orrest Head and Queen Adelaide’s Hill, or wander the exhibits of The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction and the Windermere Jetty Museum.
From here you can easily access Ambleside, home to a fascinating 2nd-century roman fort and the picturesque Stock Ghyll Force, or Grasmere, where you can tour the National Trust site of Allan Bank, former home to the literary, William Wordsworth.
