"We found the cottage very cramped not a lot of space."
Kitchen table was not secured on properly - owner fixed this - thanks. There was NO washing machine which was very disappointing. Hot water was on a timer but did not always coincide with when we wanted the hot water - hence ended up having to use cold water for most ablutions. No wheelie bin for the bags of rubbish was provided. Electric shower was great no issues All other facilities provided were good.

"A very comfortable, clean and well equipped cottage."
Hosts were friendly and were readily available should we have needed anything. We felt well looked after without any intrusion of privacy. The setting is idyllic as it is rural but within close proximity of great motorway links. This enabled us to explore nearby lakes to the south, Scotland to the north, the dales to the east and the Cumbrian coast to the West. All in all a fantastic break.

"Lovely little cottage!"
Was spotless when we arrived. Owners were really helpful and friendly! Pictures do not show how nice the cottage is! Absolutely loved the sheep right outside the door. We really enjoyed our stay!

"We were absolutely delighted with the property and would book again."
The property is a delightful cottage with very nice furnishings and is adequate for two people. The views are outstanding - fields all around with sheep. Perfect for a relaxing holiday and we could have stayed much longer, as it was so peaceful. The owners were exceptional, and were available any time if needed. Thank you for your service also. I agree to you putting it on your review site, but not publishing full names. Thank you

"Yes, 'Met Expectations' but."
.. For the price (economic, ie about £100 p/n) the standard was mostly good, so no complaints there, but the 'write up' was rather 'over-the-top' - described as 'luxurious' - well not quite, eg I'd like a more comfortable bed for 'luxurious' and the 'platter of delicious local produce' consisted of a Higates flapjack made in Wasall and two Lichfields products - digestives and 'highland shorties' - from Northants. Not exactly 'local'! Didn't eat any of it - but the 'delicious may be a bit over the top too. Better to not mention them. In similar vein, the views were described as 'outstanding' - well, they were pleasant enough - a couple of fields with sheep, not exactly 'outstanding' especially in an area where there are indeed so many truly outstanding views. Strange that, although bed linen and towels were included, there was no tea towel. It was explained that this was because so many tea towels were 'stolen' by previous guests. My advice - just add £5 to the o/n price and buy in a load of Lakes tea towels and invite guests to take it away with them, if they wish, as a souvenir - compliments of the owners. One final thing - about being 'welcoming' - I did not read on the site I booked through (snaptrip.com) about not checking in before 4pm although I may have overlooked it but we did follow the advice to phone and let the owners know our ETA. Bit surprised that my wife was told to 'wait' while lady's husband was consulted before agreeing to our arrival at 3pm. When we arrived - after a 5 hour drive - at 10 minutes to 3pm, the entry gate was locked. It could have/should have been open for us - but perhaps the owners wanted to give us a message? Not the way to 'welcome' guests! By-the-by, with winter approachng and clocks going back an hour at the end of this month, if guests are not 'welcome' before 4pm, they will be arriving more or less in the dark. Surely, even with Covid ceansing, there is time from 10 am (departure time) to 3pm - 5 hours - to thoroughly clean and sanitise correctly.

"Lovely experience in this cottage Very quiet and peaceful location"
-
"The cottage was well renovated and had all mod cons but I was surprised that we only had one knife, fork, plate etc each, the owners said this was due to the covid restrictions."
The only other problem I had was the spaced flagstones in the path to the cottage which were awkward to negotiate especially when carrying cases.

"This was a beautiful cottage very clean & exactly as advertised."
Owners very friendly & helpful especially in difficult times of Covid. In a great location. Would definitely recommend & would stay again !

"Buttercup Cottage is a comfortable and very well-equipped holiday cottage on the edge of the Lake District, and close to Penrith."
It is small and compact, with only 2 rooms. Kitchen equipment was good, I can't think of anything I needed that wasn't there. We were puzzled by the lack of a tea towel, as towels and bed linen were included in the price.

"This Cottage (Buttercup) was one of the best we have stayed in."
It was faultless! The position by the M6 Junction 41 was more than handy, the Double Glazing on the cottage was a perfect sound barrier against the motorway traffic. We will definitely go to this Cottage again. Well done Sykes!
