  • "The house was perfect for our group of 8, taking on the Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge."

It was located in between Ingleborough and Whernside. Clean and comfortable.

  • "Stayed at Dale house farm for two nights while we took on the Yorkshire three peaks."

The property itself was great, more than enough room to comfortably accommodate us all and we were a group of ten adults. The location is lovely, set in a valley of farmland with fantastic views out of all windows and a perfect base to get out hiking from. Would definitely stay here again.

  • "The property was lovely and ideal for our family break."

Three families all together for a week and we had plenty of space and privacy. The en suite bathrooms were a great size and the bedrooms had plenty of space for everyone. The dining area was much more spacious than the photographs made it appear. We had five children aged from 7 - 15 years and they all played outside and had ample space in the large shared bedroom upstairs for sleeping and keeping them entertained. Only three used it as a bedroom but it would have been equally as comfortable with four occupants. The kitchen was well stocked but, as other reviews mentioned, the cooking facilities (oven and hob) would have benefitted from being larger (double oven, separate grill etc) to more easily cater for a party of twelve. We were only ten and we had to get creative with dinners. We fed the children first most evenings before cooking again for the adults to make it work. The owners next door were very helpful regarding a tea spillage and feedback about a small maintenance issue. We would highly recommend the property for a large group based on all of the above and the location being excellent. The driveway down was bumpy but to be expected on a working farm with agricultural traffic using it.

  • "We had a lovely stay at Dale house farm It is situated in a great area to explore the countryside, and our visit to White Scar Caves just a 2 minute drive away was fantastic."

The house was lovely and warm and very clean. The owners Judith & Simon we're very helpful throughout our holiday but communication was quite slow before & after our stay which was a bit worrying at times Just a couple of things that could do with attention. The chairs in the dining area could do with felt bottoms as they made that dreadful scraping noise on the stone floor every time someone moved. Coat hooks & a shoe rack in the entrance or in the hoover cupboard would help greatly with such a large group to accommodate. The double bed in the room with the mezzanine floor was very hard and could benefit from a mattress topper. All other beds in the property we're comfortable. Where the driveway meets the main road definitely could benefit from some maintenance. There were large potholes and we skidded every time we entered or left the property This was quite dangerous when entering such a fast stretch of road. My only reservation to staying again as a big family group with children! would be the worry of spillages on the kitchen/dining area stone floor. This is a beautiful stone floor and required specific cleaning solution that was kept at the owners property next door. It meant that we couldn't fully relax as we didn't want the added expense if it were to be stained by accidental spillages. (Maybe a big mat in the dining area would be an easy affordable solution) I hope these suggestions will be helpful for the future Best wishes Katie & Family

  • "Very well appointed accommodation in a magical setting with so many things to do in the area."

The only recommendation for improvement would be that the drive to the main road should be upgraded. The track is very rough and whilst no impediment to those with an SUV , visitors with lower cars or sportscars can ground on the rocks or potholes.

  • "We found the cooking facilities very inadequate For 12 people."

Oven had only 1 shelf & a grill tray. We had expected a range with double oven. The state of the access road was dreadfull. There were more ruts & potholes than driveway.

Only a 15 minute drive from where we were meeting our guide the location was perfect. The views from all sides of the cottage were stunning and the farm animals wondering around added to the experience. The cottage was spotless and had everything we needed for the weekend. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable and the under floor heating of the ground floor gave it a more luxurious feel which we all appreciated on the chilly September mornings. The owners of the cottage only live next door which was helpful when one of the group sustained a nasty leg injury and had to pull out very early on. They supplied ice and made sure she was comfortable.Very friendly and happy to help!! I would return to Dale House Farm Cottage without hesitation (Maybe for a relaxing weekend away) rather than spending 12 hours on a mountain!! Everyone in the group agreed we would recommend the stay!! Thank you for having us!!

  • "This was a brilliant house for a large group."

We had 3 young children and a baby with the 7 adults. Our hosts were very welcoming and friendly and on hand for any problems, which fortunately we didn't have. The children loved the animals, space to play and the pedal tractors. Inside there was plenty of room. The bedrooms suited the families with young and all were extremely comfortable. Downstairs the kitchen/diningroom was practical and also a good space to be sociable. The kitchen was very well equipped and conveniently laid out with plenty of room for 2or 3 people to work in at once. The sitting room was also very comfortable, a good space to have some peace and quiet when needed. Ingleton is just a few minutes away in the car for food shopping and we found plenty of quiet spots for picnics and messing about in rivers only a few minutes away in other directions. All in all, young and older had a great holiday.

Really clean and well presented with great facilities. Very near to White Scar Caves, the Waterfall Walk, Ingleborough and easy access to many other locations of interest. We were a party of 7 and really enjoyed our stay. A few little touches that would have made it better - a small supply of tea, coffee and milk on arrival and a hairdryer or two available for use. Maybe a DVD player in the lounge.

  • "Great cottage, with great accommodation and facilities."

Two small niggles: 1) for a party of 9 (ours), the saupans were too small - a couple of larger cooking pans would have made life easier. 2) sign for cottage on the road very small, difficult to see the entrance to the farm in the dark. I will, emphasise these were small problems and did not detract from our very enjoyable stay
