"Just got back from a three night stay in this lodge!"
Everything went smoothly, the lodge was cleaned to the highest standard, had everything we needed! Hot tub was amazing! Would definitely recommend! Thank you

"The lodge was very nicely decorated throughout."
It was perfect for our stay in the Lake District. The lodge had everything we needed and the beds were very comfy. I would definitely recommend. The hot tub was also lovely.

"I'm aware that the owner is conscientious and appreciates any feedback so I would like to advise the following, during our recent stay w/c 2nd September."
Lodge is really lovely and we would definitely return. There a some minor things however that could be improved. Overall cleanliness is 'Good' but on accessing the lodge we found 7 spiders (some large) in the lounge/kitchen and more in the bedrooms, there were a lot of ceiling cobwebs which could be avoided by using a feather duster after every stay, the bottom of fridge freezer and the bottom basket hadn't been cleaned and the kitchen cupboard next to it needed wiping. Although it is accommodation that allows dogs which we were very grateful for, the smaller bedroom had an odour which may have been due to dogs, maybe clean the carpets monthly? The inside of the window frame was also dirty and just needed a wipe. The hoover did also smell of dogs but I appreciate efforts have gone into trying to avoid this. Also we couldn't see a BBQ plinth which would have been nice during the hot weather, Hot tub was lovely. We would give the lodge 9/10 and rectifying the above would bring it up to a well deserved 10.
Thank you for your stay and constructive feedback Julie. Rest assured, we will take your comments on board. A BBQ plinth is not provided due to previous issues and damage. However BBQs are able to be used on the hard footing just off the decking area. Hope to see you again soon. Property Owner

"The property was absolutely beautiful, myself and my family had such a lovely ..."
The property was absolutely beautiful, myself and my family had such a lovely time, I couldn’t fault it one bit, the lodge was so well kept and it made it even better that there was a hot tub, which got checked every single day, I will most definitely be visiting again such great value for money and with beautiful surroundings what more could I of asked for x

"The property was nice apart from a dirty tray and oven and hair blockage in the bath plug"
Thank you for your stay and feedback Tina, we have passed this onto the cleaning team. Property Owner

"We loved our time at Ghyll lodge."
A beautiful lodge and beautiful setting. The lodge is spacious. A few suggestions: a cheese grater, more plastic glasses for out on the decking (there were 4 however 1 of them the bottom came off and another was cracked), more cutlery (knives and forks) and for someone who has never actually operated a hot tub before full instructions on how to switch the jets on etc would be great. This is only a few minor suggestions anyone who visits the lodge will not be disappointed! Highly recommend!
Thank you for the constructive feedback Lynne. We hadn’t realised that the grater had gone missing so thank you for letting us know, it has now been replaced. Regrettably, some guest do not look after the glassware and are often broken and not replaced. We will procure more plastic glasses for you to use on your return. Thank you once again for your stay. "Lovely property with all the amenities you need."
We loved the hot tub. Great base to explore the Lake District. Only fault is that the bathrooms and toilets weren’t that clean on our arrival. I appreciate the time frame between one family leaving and the next arriving isn’t long but the toilets and bathroom should be priority. I don’t mind cleaning even when I arrive but just expected a better level in the bathroom and toilets prior to new guests arriving. The rest of the lodge was fine and we would recommend it on that basis.
Hi Rachel, We are terribly sorry that bathrooms were not up to a high level of cleanliness. We shall pass this feedback onto the cleaners. Thank you for your stay and feedback. Property Owner

"Ghyll Lodge is stunning!"
It is furnished so tastefully to a really high standard and is spotlessly clean! The beds are so comfortable and the bathrooms are amazing. The kitchen is incredibly well equipped and the dining table is simply gorgeous. Quite simply this lodge is out of this world and that’s before you even step into the fabulous hot tub !! Cannot recommend this enough, can’t wait to return !! Thank you so much.
Adrian thank you so much for this feedback. It makes us so proud to share our lovely lodge with guests who appreciate it as much as we do. We welcome you back with open arms! See you soon. Property Owner

"Leak from bedroom radiator causing damp carpet."
Also radiators in bedrooms not working and others barely on. Unable to put shower head back into its holder in en suite. Fridge door very stiff and hoover absolutely stunk
Hello Kevin, we are really disappointed you have experienced maintenance issues during your stay. We will discuss with Lake District Lodge holidays as were were not advised that you had issues during your stay. Rest assured, if you had reported the issues immediately, we would have had them resolved. Feedback is important to us, and your feedback will be used to improve. Update to your feedback Kevin: having had our maintenance providers attend; The Henry hoover bag has been changed and the cleaner has been instructed to add freshening discs to the hoover for future use. Whilst a hoover that may smell is unpleasant, our lodge is pet friendly and the hoover may present an odour at times synonymous with having pets. Regarding the heating and following investigation, please understand that the central heating system is a single loop system. No radiators should be turned off locally, instead, the digital thermostat situated in the that hallway should only be used. The fridge door has been tested and whilst we were unable to find evidence of it being stiff, we were able to witness that when the door is opened and closed in quick succession, additional suction of the door may be present until equalised. Once again thank you for your stay and feedback. We use all feedback to improve the experience of all of our guest and hope that our actions demonstrate that. Property Owner

"Everything was perfect."
Well maintained and clean. Beds super comfy. Only issue, we could not find the slabs provided for the BBQ.
Thank you for the feedback Fatima, it means a lot to learn people enjoy our place as much as we do. Regrettably we do not allow the use of BBQs on the decking due to previous damage. People are however allowed to BBQ on the hard standing at the side. Property Owner

"Lovely well maintained lodge."
Hot tub huge bonus. Small recommendation but would benefit from airer in the storage cupboard, as nowhere to hang wet clothes after using the on-site washing machine. Stayed on White Cross Bay many times in different areas. This is the nicest lodge we’ve stayed in.
Thank you for your positive feedback Lisa, and thank you for choosing Ghyll lodge for your stay. We take great pride in our lodge and your feedback is warming. The launderette does offer dryers for wet clothes for future reference. Ghyll lodge owners Property Owner

"Had a fantastic holiday, the lodge is very clean, modern and in good position."
The decking wraps around the 3/4 of the lodge and has a jacuzzi but dog safe. The only thing I would say and this is not the owners fault or Sykes holidays but on 2 of the days we couldn’t use the decking or jacuzzi because we were invaded by a decking company who arrived in 4 vans and 2 cars, parking everywhere when working on the lodge opposite 8am till late 2 days on the trot. They parked 12 inches from the decking staring directly at our deck playing loud music and swearing etc. we did ask at one point if they could turn the music down which they did but the noise and shouting was horrendous. I did ring Sykes on the day who were not made aware of the work and they contacted resort to try and get them to move their vans but it was late on. Like I said this was not the owners fault who you can tell takes pride in their lodge. On the plus side for customers in the future, there is no decking to be done around any of the close lodges as it looks like they have all be renewed. Will I return, yes as it is a lovely lodge and I do understand workmen have to do their jobs it was just the closeness of their vans and noise etc
Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear you were disturbed by the work in the area being completed by Parkdean Resorts, had we known prior to your stay, we would have made you aware. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience caused. That said, we are delighted this did not take away from the fantastic facilities Ghyll Lodge has to offer and that you would return. We look forward to welcoming you. Owner Relations Team - Lake District Lodge Holidays. Property Owner

"Lovely location for exploring the Lake District."
Wonderful spacious lodge, we loved using the hot tub. Excellent facilities throughout the lodge, we had everything we needed. Wifi isn't great but this is clearly stated in booking. I'm not very good at being off grid but we did use the clubhouse if we needed better signal. The only thing I would add is a few more hooks on back of doors to dry towels etc Thanks for a lovely stay.
Thank you for your feedback Natalie, We are delighted you enjoyed your stay with us. Regrettably, the Wi-Fi is out of our control and your feedback regarding the additional hooks on the back of the doors is a great one. We shall take this onboard and hopefully on your next stay, you can hang your towels with ease. Hope to see you again soon. Ghyll Lodge Owners, Chris & Cheryl Property Owner
