  • "Overall the site was very good."

Good food in the restaurant and the site is in a beautiful area with the lake close by. The lodge was not as clean as it could have been, the en suite shower was dirty and had bits and hair in it and the 2 single beds were well past their best with toppers on to cover sunken mattresses. My adult son was not impressed! However this didn't spoil our first trip to the Lake District and we had glorious weather. Hopefully, we will return but not to that lodge.

Hi Joy, We appreciate your feedback regarding the en-suite shower and we have reported your comments to our cleaning company for their attention. Property Owner

  • "Lovely cabin, perfect for a short break."

Great location on the park just a short stroll from the lake and all the facilities. We have stayed at White Cross Bay many times and this is one the best spots we have stayed at. Well maintained. Lovely owners who were very accommodating. Shame we didn’t get to enjoy the decking due to wet weather as would have been lovely to sit outside!

Hi Claire, Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at Wansfell Lodge. Hopefully you will get better weather next time! :) Property Owner

  • "Very comfortable and well equipped lodge in a lovely location."

The only niggle was that the en suite shower could do with a shelf to accommodate shower gel/shampoo etc We had a really enjoyable stay (despite the weather!) and would certainly recommend it.

  • "This is my fifth visit to white cross bay, and this lodge didn’t disappoint."

What a beautiful spotlessly clean accommodation, the beds were so comfortable, excellent large fridge freezer and dishwasher. Lovely location next to the fairy woods( as we call them) and very near the lake. Would have no hesitation in recommending this lodge.

Hi Audrey, Thank you so much for your feedback. We are really glad you loved your stay at Wansfell Lodge and we look forward to welcoming you back in the future! Property Owner

  • "The Lodge was a bit difficult to find because the numbering is rather wacky but once found we were very happy."

The place was spacious, well furnished and had everything we needed. Instructions for the dishwasher would be helpful and the limited number of tv channels was a bit strange but the view from the deck was spectacular. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend the Lodge for anyone wanting to explore Lake Windermere and surrounding areas.

Hi Brenda, Thank you for your feedback, we are glad you enjoyed your stay at Wansfell Lodge! We have taken on board the feedback regarding the dishwasher. We provide a map via email to show where the lodge is located on the park as we understand there are a lot of lodges on the park which may cause confusion! Property Owner

  • "The beds are lovely and comfortable and great wardrobe storage."

The lodge is light and airy with a nice layout. The only negatives were cleanliness. The balcony doors were filthy, I though the outside balcony looks uncared for, it would be good to have the addition of a sun umbrella and relaxer chairs. The balcony and chairs had not been brushed. We did find the cushions on our 3rd day. There was a lot of dog hair and a bone under the settee. There was a mop brush but no water bucket or hoover. The bedroom blinds were dusty. The cleaning issues inside did not affect my stay , I just thought it should be mentioned so you can make sure the place is cleaned with a bit more care and attention. The ouside comfort would have improved my stay. Especially in view of the price for a short weekend. Generally a well presented property and a|I would stay again.

Hi Chris, Many thanks for your feedback, we are glad you enjoyed your stay. We appreciate your feedback regarding the cleanliness of the lodge and have reported your comments to our cleaning company for their attention. I will definitely book again, hopefully for a longer stay next time. I’d highly recommend this lodge to anyone looking for a really relaxing stay with great views and local towns a stone throw away. Very family and dog friendly.

  • "Good property in good, clean condition."

The only disappointment was the result of no info about the facilities, especially the dishwasher and the heating controls - with no instructions it was very difficult to control these complex pieces of equipment! Also we were held up by traffic jams on the M6 which resulted in our arrival being in the dark! A simple sketch map would have made it easier to locate Wansfell Lodge, and could supplement the arrival info package.

Hi Patrick, Thank you for your feedback. We are glad you enjoyed your stay at Wansfell Lodge. Instructions regarding the thermostat are located in the welcome booklet we email guests before their arrival. In future we will provide a physical copy of this information to be located within the lodge. Property Owner

  • "Lovely lodge, nicely designed, great site and comfortable beds."

Warm and cosy. Needs blackout curtains in bedrooms. Wifi doesn’t really work so no Netflix but that’s the whole site not owners fault. Great communication with owner when needed. Would stay again and recommend.
