  • "We had a wonderful weekend at Cunsey lodge."

Very comfortable and clean and the house was lovely and warm from the minute we walked in. The log burning fire was the icing on the cake with a weekend of storms. Would highly recommend and would use again.

  • "Second time we have stayed at this property."

Great family house, especially with each bedroom having its own en-suite.

  • "A spotlessly clean house , with excellent facilities ideal for a family gathering of 8 , views and walks from the door and use of a pool a short car ride or an hours walk away ."

The kitchen was very spacious and had everything with the exception of a potato peeler ! Maybe an air fryer would be an addition to such a high end property ? The hot tub was easy to fill and heat with the logs provided too . A superb property highly recommended

  • "Cunsey Lodge is a lovely place to stay, is more spacious than the pictures show and in a picturesque location."

The only comment I could make is the kitchen could do with a few more things, a frying pan, some smaller bowls for cooking/serving and toilet roll holders in the bathrooms. Perhaps more details on finding the swimming pool! We would most definitely visit again and highly recommend it to friends and families who want to holiday together but have private rooms/bathrooms. Thank you Braithwaite Estate

  • "Cunsey lodge was a spacious accommodation in a great position on the edge of Lake Windermere."

Louise the letting manager was kind enough to allow us early access which was extremely welcome. The only negative was the kitchen equipment needs looking at, not enough pots/pans, both corkscrews were of no use (broken). I wouldn’t hesitate to book again if these small but important tweaks were carried out.

Thank you for your feedback following your stay at Cunsey Lodge. We have completed an inventory check on this property and all missing/broken items have now been replaced. Property Owner

About the location

HAWKSHEAD

Ambleside 5.1 miles; Kendal 17.4 miles.

The picturesque village of Hawkshead still retains the charm and character that so endeared it to its most famous residents - William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter. Visitors can wander the wealth of tiny alleyways, thoroughfares, archways and courtyards between the whitewashed 17th century houses. There are many pleasant inns, teashops, guest houses and gift shops in the village, as well as the Beatrix Potter Gallery, which houses an annually changing exhibition of the famous author’s illustrations and stories. The other famous Hawkshead enthusiast, William Wordsworth, attended the Old Grammar School in 1779-87, which still stands today, and you can visit the building where the Lakeland poet developed his love of the form, and even see the desk into which he scratched his name as a small boy! Newby Bridge is ten miles away and offers attractions such as the Aquarium of the Lakes and Windermere Lake Cruises, sailing daily between Ambleside, Bowness and Lakeside. With stunning scenery and numerous attractions within easy touring distance, Hawkshead is in an ideal location at any time of the year.
