  • "Fantastically clean, warm and spacious with all the amenities required."

Set in a beautiful location on a cobbled street at the heart of Dent village. Our only gripe was we could not connect to the WIFI. After many attempts we could not access it.

Hi Kevin many thanks for your feedback. We are really glad that you loved the cottage but surprised that there was an issue with the WI-FI. The supply is Superfibre to the door which gives instant WI-FI and we have never had any issues with it. We can only assume that there was an outage due to maintenance and we are sorry that you had problems. Hopefully it didn’t impact too much upon your stay. Kind regards Louise Property Owner

The cottage was perfectly clean with comfortable and tasteful furnishing and decor. There was everything you could need in terms of equipment in the kitchen and up to date tech with google and the TV,because of the reception, had access to i player etc.We couldnt park outside cottage as cobbled street but dropped our luggage off and parked in the village carpark for £30 a week.

We are so glad that you had a great holiday and loved White Hart House. With regards to parking if the spaces next to the cottage are taken the price for a week’s parking in the car park has now been reduced by the council to £15.. Property Owner

We very much enjoyed our stay, found the cottage a pleasure to be in and definitely recommend it. Walking in Dentdale and further afield is easily accessible as are Sedbergh and Hawes, the two towns we visited. The owners of this cottage are exceptionally helpful.

Ample and very reasonably priced parking for visitors in the public car park. Plenty of well marked footpaths in and around the village. Dent is well cared for and loved by its locals who make visitors welcome.

The welcome pack left for us was fabulous and very thoughtful. The text we received from the owners prior to arrival with information about the local area as well as the information pack in the cottage was very helpful but the added touch of a text after a few days in the cottage from the owners making sure we were ok and had everything we needed was a lovely touch and something we have not experienced before.

Roomy cottage on three floors. Local cafes and pubs good but limited amenities beyond that. Great walks in the locality especially along the River but still accessible to other locations with a bit of a drive. Peaceful place to stay for a well earned break!

The Welcome Pack was very welcome after a long journey. Also, it was refreshing to have plenty of the staples in the cupboards from hand wash to washing up liquid, to cooking oil to tin foil. The cottage is warm and cosy and full of character. There are plenty of walks on your doorstep and coffee and cakes on offer at the heritage centre just a short stroll away. Fantastic break.

The kitchen is a welcoming area with its large table and log burner to return to after a day out. Dent is a lovely ' go back in time ' village with walks on the door step with all the main towns of Hawes , Sedburgh & Ingleton within 40 minutes drive. All in all a great week spent here !!

  • "We had the most amazing week in Dent, and loved our stay at White Heart House."

Dent is a lovely little village, full of character. The view from anywhere in the village is magnificent, with the Dales literally right in front of you. All we could hear once we opened our windows was the sound of birds singing and sheep bleating, and the occasional sound of St Andrew's bells. We spent most of our days going for beautiful long walks and cycles, soaking in the beauty of the Dales. Unfortunately the Sun Inn was closed due to Covid, but we are sure that in better times it would be the perfect spot for a post-hike pint, just a stone throw away from the cottage. White Heart House had all the facilities we needed, and even some extras like a great woodburner stove. It was nice and clean when we arrived.

There are easy walking trails around the village and some more challenging ones which we will come back to for another time. White Hart House itself was very comfortable. Louise and Darren are great hosts. The welcome pack was apprciated with some lovely goodies. We were even provided with a towel for our dog and he even had his own welcome treat! DENT

Sedbergh 4 miles; Kendal 15 miles.

Dent is a small village in the dale of Dentdale, and makes a wonderful place for touring both the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District. It has a village green together with cobbled streets and a pretty 12th century church. It also has its own brewery producing Aviator Ale, Ramsbottom and Golden Fleece beers – of course these are available in the village pubs to enjoy. The village offers a variety of shops and places to eat and the market town of Sedbergh is only a short drive away.
