  • "Lovely little cottage - spot on for a small family."

Well placed to get to the region - it is great. It is about 30 mins to Keswick and 10 to Penrith.

  • "Having a bit of cooking oil would he nice."

It's not something you want to buy or take if you are there for just a few days.

  • "Conformable beds, spacious accommodation."

Very good location away from the busy Lakes area. Only slight gripe was shower - not enough power, too close to the wall.

  • "Adequate but basic."

Bath seal and panel in need of attention. Venetian blinds in bathroom dirty, unhygienic and should be removed. Need a mirror in second bedroom. Otherwise a comfortable stay in a lovely quiet village.

Thank you for your review which is very much out of keeping with feedback received from numerous other guests. Property Owner

  • "The property is beautiful."

It’s was super clean. It had everything we needed in the kitchen - a good supply of pans, utensils and sharp knives which is often lacking in holiday rentals. The shower is good. The garden seating area and the log burner are great there’s somewhere nice to sit whatever the weather. I would definitely stay again! My only suggestion for a slight improvement would be some drawers in the bedrooms. The only clothes storage is in the hallway and just having a couple of drawers in the bedroom to store undies would be nice. Having to go to the hallway or keep things in a suitcase in the bedroom is a bit awkward. But other than that it’s perfect!

Hi Becky Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this wonderful review. We are delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay at the cottage and would love to welcome you back next time you’re ready to visit our beautiful area. We will be sure to pop some drawers in the bedroom! Thank you ☺️ Property Owner

  • "This was a comfy cosy cottage."

I did not realise on booking it that the cottage is NOT as stated in Langwathby but over a mile away at Edenhall. Beware of this on booking. The parking was an issue for us and because of this we would not book again. Overall the cottage was well equipped and comfortable in a beautiful area. There could have been a lot more information on the cottage and appliances and more information on places to see and visit. The information book was very sparse. We had a relaxing stay.

Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased you found the cottage to be comfortable, cosy, well equipped and in a beautiful area. The cottage is described by Sykes as being situated in Edenhall, close to Langwathby 1.1 miles away. Parking is also described as being road side. A number of leaflets are available in the cottage providing information on places of interest and local visitor attractions and the guest folder provides more specific information on amenities, places to eat in the immediate locality / details of doorstep walks etc. We will however further review the information already provided and expand upon that if considered necessary. • "What a lovely home away from home!"

10mins from central Penrith, overlooking a quiet green complete with grazing sheep…idyllic! Comfy beds, good sized rooms and and overall warm and welcoming cottage for anyone. We stayed here for one month with our toddler and would have happily stayed longer. If you’re thinking about staying here, just do it!

Thank you so much for your fabulous review Chris. We are so pleased you were happy and comfortable in the cottage. It was a pleasure to be able to accommodate you all before you move on to pastures new Wishing you all the very best in the chapter ahead! kindest regards Kathryn Property Owner

  • "We had a wonderful stay at Ivy Cottage, it is everything you expect it to be and more."

Its in a lovely, quiet village with walks from the doorstep. The cottage was very comfortable, tastefully furnished, super comfy beds, lovely bathroom and a cute rear garden to relax in at the end of a busy day exploring the Lakes. Kathryn, our host, was lovely and on hand should we have needed to contact her. I would highly recommend Ivy Cottage, it's not often I say I would go back somewhere again as I like to discover new accomodation and places, but I will most definitely be booking again to stay at Ivy Cottage.
