  • "Very nice comfortable house, ideal for our walking party."

One of the rooms had not been converted to a twin but Ian was apologetic and sorted it out straight away. He also unlocked one of the rooms after one of the party locked their keys inside. Would definitely stay again.

  • "We had a lovely stay."

Maybe update photos. No television in rooms but the photos showed there were. Also, maybe a welcome pack with details of local services, ie, doctors, pharmacy etc. The fire alarm activated, thankfully, no fire but a couple of our friends had to find the alarm to deactivate it. Just something to put in a welcome pack. Otherwise, our stay was lovely and Ian came out to help with a couple of minor problems. Would definitely go back again.

  • "We enjoyed 4 nights at Holly Wood and would definately recommend the property as a base for a large family/group of friends for it’s location and for it’s space and comfort."

We found the house in a very clean condition, all the radiators lovely and warm and the wine and flowers left on the dining table added to the relaxing ambience of the property. Ian, the owner called me whilst on route to the property to let me know his contact details if needed and when we did contact him to ask if we could borrow some kitchen scales he turned up shortly after with a brand new set. All the bedrooms have their own en-suite shower/bath with amazing water pressure, luxury toiletries were supplied together with large fluffy towels. We would definately recommend Holly Wood as a home from home and look forward to staying here again.

Location of property was A+ with ample street parking plus the allocated parking at the rear if the property. My only negative would be that the pots and pans need upgrading. That aside we all felt really comfortable and would not hesitate to book again.

House is large and spacious with everything you need. Shops and bars are a short walk away. Dedicated parking for 3 cars but had no issue with free on street parking for additional vehicles. • "Perfect holiday home in a really good location."

A 2 minute walk from the shops, restaurants etc in Windermere and a 15 min walk down to the lake. The house was ideal. Nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. It has 5 large double rooms all with their own en-suite. Really big dining room table to sit all 10 of us. A lovely sociable space. Big kitchen with American style fridge and separate freezer which was perfect. Its an ex b&b so was really spacious. The outside space was small but ideal. We enjoyed alfresco drinks in the sun. There is only seating for 4 though so bring your own camping chairs! The only downside was there needed to be extra seating in living room and the kitchen isn’t as well stocked as described. Only 1 cup, 1 glass, 1 plate etc per person which was a bit inconvenient but nothing more. If you want to cook a meal you might need couple more pots and pans. It was a bit sparse. We had couple minor problems and the owner text back immediately to resolve, We were really impressed with the speed and it was reassuring. We would Definitely return and would recommend this property.

  • "Lovely house in a great location."

Plenty of space for our group - didn’t feel like we were on top of each other. The lounge and dining area were a great area for everyone to come together. They we’re very clean and modern. Very comfortable and the bottle of wine was a lovely touch. Only areas that could possibly be improved on would be having a few more cleaning supplies in the kitchen and replacing the light in one of the bathrooms on the top floor as it didn’t work. All in all it was the perfect base for our group weekend alway!
