  • "The property was well presented, with everything we needed in the kitchen."

The rooms and bathrooms were spacious. The local facilities were only a 2 minute walk from the front door with shops and restaurants. The only hiccup was we were going out for a meal on Saturday night and couldn't lock the front door. I phoned the contact number and they were going to arrange for someone to come and fix it but after some perseverance we managed to look it then someone arrived the next morning and repaired the door

Thank you for persevering with the lock it was unfortunate one of the screws came loose in the lock delighted that it was resolved in a few minutes. Pleased that you enjoyed your holiday Property Owner

  • "We stayed at Nutkin Cottage as a family of five on the run up to Christmas."

The house is beautiful and having the three bedrooms and three bathrooms it was perfect. The house had been decorated for the festive season and so along with the real fire it was the perfect Christmas escape. We could not fault this house in any way; the decor and furnishings were all wonderful including the use of a high chair for our 6 month old. The location is ideal being a few minutes walk from Windermere shops, cafes and restaurants and we managed to park outside the house using the permit every day with no problems. We had a fantastic stay and we definitely plan to return. We would highly recommend Nutkin Cottage.

We are delighted that you had a fantastic holiday at our cottage and look forward to welcoming you back. Best wishes for the New Year Property Owner

  • "Central location within Windermere."

Very quiet with no noise from local shops. Parking was always available on the street using the permit provided in the cottage. Bedrooms very spacious and comfy with lovely bed linen and super fluffy towels. All bathrooms are a good size. We cooked every night in the cottage and the kitchen was really well equipped. Loved coffee from The Brew Room which is just around the corner. Bus stop very close making it easy to travel down to Bowness, Ambleside and Grasmere.

Many thanks Judith really appreciate your feedback and glad that you had a great holiday. We hope to welcome you back soon Property Owner

  • "Lovely long weekend stay at Nutkin Cottage."

Ideal location in the centre of Windermere near to shops and restaurant but in a quiet street. On street parking using the car park pass provided ( my daughter parked on the street in Brook Street - also near the property- free parking with no restrictions). The cottage easily accommodated our party of 5, it was very clean, warm and comfortable ( lovely bedding, towels etc) - and fully equipped should you wish to cook. We did need to contact the owner due to one of the bathroom sink plugs not draining ( this didn’t spoil our break at all) but just to say they responded very quickly. Thank you- highly recommend the property!

Thank you Sharon and delighted you had a fabulous break at our cottage. We hope to welcome you back soon Property Owner

  • "Nutkin Cottage was perfect!"

Well-placed in the centre of Windermere with shops and restaurants practically on the door step. There was no problems finding parking on the street. Getting around the local area was easy with lots of things to see and do. Buses, trains and boats were all very accessible. The cottage was beautiful, we especially liked the themed bedrooms. I would definitely recommend Nutkin Cottage and would love to return.

Thank you for your wonderful comments and delighted you enjoyed your holiday! We would love to welcome you back Property Owner

  • "Nutkin Cottage was very comfortable and spotlessly clean."

The holiday home was well equipped and in a very good location. The big bay window was lovely but we had a few people going past staring in the window when you were eating at the table - perhaps blinds of some sort would be considered. Only things missing from the kitchen were a pizza cutter and a large serving spoon. The coffee maker is a really nice touch. We would definitely return, we really enjoyed our stay.

Many thanks for your feedback and appreciate your comments and have purchased a pizza cutter and a large serving spoon for the cottage. I will consider the blinds and look at various options for the bay window. Delighted you enjoyed your stay and hope to welcome you back soon. Property Owner

  • "Property owners attended a problem with a leak within a couple of hours of it been reported and were extremely respectful of our comfort and privacy while carrying out the repairs."

They apologised for the issue and left us with some great wine to enjoy for our last evening. They also cleared the rubbish for us, which left little for us to do before leaving the following day. They also engaged in conversation with us without being intrusive. A vert nice couple who look after their lovely property and do all they can to ensure guests enjoy their stay.

Thank you so much for the lovely feedback and we are delighted you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

  • "Great cottage , nice and clean and awesome location."

A little skimpy in the necessities like loo paper and no tea towel or coffee machine.

Many thanks for your lovely feedback Jason. The housekeeper and myself apologise that there were no tea towels left on this occasion (we always provide 2) and there should be 3 toilet rolls per bathroom/en suite provided. Although there is a cafetiere at our cottage I have purchased a new coffee machine as that is a great idea. Property Owner

  • "This is an absolutely lovely house which is amazingly convenient to shops and restaurants."

We travelled with our 3 children and 2 foster babies and had a brilliant time despite it raining most of the week. The rooms were just as described and we found the house perfect for us. There is a small fridge and small dishwasher which was enough for our needs. The beds were so comfortable and having 3 bathrooms made life very easy for our family. Perfect location, Windermere is gorgeous and we travelled all around from there. A parking permit was provided which was wonderful. The house is also convenient to the train station and the bus routes.

So pleased you loved our holiday home and hope to welcome you back again soon Property Owner

The property is very comfortable, very well equipped and furnished to a high standard. And it’s really well located in Windermere on a side street off from the array of great cafes, restaurants and shops. Having 3 bathrooms made such a huge difference to our stay as we weren’t all waiting for our turn in the shower in the morning either. We would definitely recommend a stay at this beautiful house

Parking permit is so useful however it does mean you need to plan a little, ie you may not get a spot if returning too late as there is no specific allocated parking.
