The property

This stone and slated, three storey property lies in a desirable part of central Windermere, just paces from a range of shops, pubs and restaurants.

Feel right at home as you begin your holiday adventure at The Postmasters House, boasting a pleasant interior and characterful features.

Enter through the front door and discover the kitchen/diner, retaining that traditional feel with original wooden pine flooring and sash windows, along with a wealth of appliances to ensure you are fully catered throughout your stay.

Serve hearty meals at the dining table, toasting to a long-awaited Lakeland getaway.

Carry the conversation into the lounge, where two sumptuous settees and a Smart TV are perfect for an evening’s entertainment, while the coal effect electric fire offers a gentle warmth.

The staircase from the entrance hall leads to the first floor landing; breaking off to one side is the master bedroom, boasting a lavish king-size bed and bay window, while to the other lies the double bedroom, with Super-king sized/ Zip and ink bed and a lovely bathroom, complete with bath and walk-in shower.

Up a final set of stairs bring you to a single room, built into the eaves of the roof with exposed beams, ideal for children.

Each of the bedrooms are wonderfully presented with fresh white bed linen and oak storage.

To the exterior of this Windermere cottage is a paved area with feature gate and bench, where you can sit out with a morning coffee as you contemplate how to spend the day.

When you’re ready to explore, just a gentle stroll away lies the town thoroughfare, where you can expect to find a wealth of amenities, including shops, supermarkets, friendly pubs, restaurants and cafés, sure to keep you well stocked and fed.

The town is also home to the World of Beatrix Potter attractions, and the glistening waters of Lake Windermere, where you can enjoy a leisurely cruise on board on the old steamer, test your hand a range of watersports, go fishing or hire a kayak and explore the scene at your own pace.

WINDERMERE

Ambleside 5 miles; Kendal 8.7 miles.

The twin towns of Bowness and Windermere are both vibrant, fun-filled places set within the splendid scenery of the Lake District. Both towns provide a range of amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes whilst Ambleside offers the additional attraction of a boat ride to Bowness, the Lakeside Aquarium and Beatrix Potter's 'Hill Top House' at Sawrey. Grizedale Forest Park is within easy driving distance and is home to a range of activities including many good walks, mountain biking and the 'Go Ape' adventure park. The region also boasts many National Trust properties as well as a variety of water sports for those who prefer a more adrenaline-fuelled trip. Children will enjoy a trip to the 'World of Beatrix Potter' in Bowness whilst the villages of Grasmere, Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick and the Lakeland Mountains are all within easy reach.
