"Great property, excellent location and very clean."
downside is one of the bedroom with two small twin beds suitable for kids not adults, hard to sleep in such small bed.

"Built in fridge/freezer not working, even though it had been highlighted by previous guests."
A replacement fridge was provided but no freezer so purchased frozen food had to be thrown away. It would of been advisable to inform incoming guests of the freezer not working. This was rectified on the Monday following a phone call from myself and a refund offered on the wasted food. The outside sitting area needed to be scrubbed due to it being dirty and not fit to use. Double glazing is required due to the noise from the nearby busy road. The cottage was warm and dry with plenty of hot water.

"On arrival (24/08/24) I emailed Lakelovers immediately to flag the following issues, but to date have had no response - ‘Hi We've just arrived at the property to find that the fitted fridge/freezer is out of order, replaced with a fridge only - meaning the frozen goods we've brought, will be wasted/spoiled (and no ice for drinks!"
). The cleanliness of the property on arrival has also been poor. Who can address these issues please?’ Id be grateful for a response to these points. I can send photographs if required. Thanks Phil Larkin

"On a positive note the cottage is spacious and clean and the parking is great , the drying room is a plus also, as for the not so possitive we where only a party of 2 and I have a disability so didn't use the upstairs rooms so can't comment on the comfort of those beds but the bed In the downstairs bedroom was quite hard and uncomfortable , the other downside was there where no holders or shelves in the shower so you had to hold the soap etc in your hands all the time you where showering and no slip mat in there either, there is no welcome pack the only things in the whole place where toilet rolls and liquid hand wash and a little washing up liquid!"
No kitchen roll not even any salt or pepper or a pint of milk absolutely nothing I pity anyone arriving late expecting there to be at least the bare essentials .
Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. We are glad that the property was cleaned to a high standard. We do find that mattresses are down to personal preference. We take all comments on board. The property is self catering, these items are not always provided. The Lakelovers Owner Relations Team Property Owner

"Recently returned home from this spacious, modern and comfortable holiday cottage."
The bedrooms are all a good size, with facility to store clothes rather than living out of a suitcase. The kitchen is adequate for producing meals (although, who wants to slave away in a kitchen when there are so many fantastic restaurants and such like, a short drive away). As an avid walker, I particularly like the Laundry/drying room as the weather is often inclement in The lakes, it affords a place to leave wet clothes whilst having a relaxing rest after a day on the fells.

"We had a very enjoyable stay at Bellman Cottage, excellent standard of cleanliness all credit to the housekeeping staff."
The property was quiet and nicely located and convenient for visiting surrounding beauty spots etc. It would have been helpful to have a visitors book as these give helpful information and recommendations.
Thank you for your feedback. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay with us at Bellman Cottage. We will pass on your lovely comments to our housekeeping team. Thank you for your suggestion of a visitors book, we take all comments on board. We hope to welcome you again. The owner relations team - Lakelovers Property Owner

"Lakelovers let us down with information requested numerous times prior to visit on size of freezer ,informed few days before it was a 50/50 split with 4 drawers to the freezer ,absolute rubbish when we arrived 1 1/2 drawers only which immediately gave us major issues very poor service."
The Laundry is unusable due to the rancid oil smell in there ,the ground floor bedroom is unusable too due to the smell in the en-suite together with the height of the ceilings particularly the en-suite area.Main issue with the ground floor bedroom is the bedroom door from the dining room ,which is less that 2 feet wide so difficult to access and assumed not conforming to any regulations ,main concern would be fire and quick access be careful if planning to use this area for elderly or any disabled guests as would be extremely tricky. The lack of rear garden was not an issue and we knew about the main road and again no real issue.Neighbouring property is really run down but did not impact our stay Overhaul the house is clean and comfortable and was a real shame to be let down by the agents and the rear portion of the property.

"Bellman cottage was to a very high standard clean, tidy, and lovely deco, and situated in a perfect location to bowness just 5 minutes down the road, and to other location's."
-
"Lovely modern decor and rooms."
Great location and everything at hand that you might need during your stay. Can't rate highly enough!
-
"Great location away from the centre but easy access to visit places, Lovely property, highly recommended."

"Stayed with my husband and friend for 10 days in June when the weather was superb."
Being the Lakes we had packed jumpers and wet weather gear - didn’t come out of the case! House was really cool downstairs both day and night - the upstairs rooms could benefit from a fan I would say, especially if global warming is going to give us warmer summers! Well presented and well provisioned house - needed for nothing in the time we stayed. Away from the madness of Bowness but just a 5 min car journey. Well placed for touring the whole area. Booths in Windermere was great for shopping or Coop and Tesco in Bowness for those forgotten bits.

"Recently returned from another enjoyable stay at Bellman cottage."
The cottage has a modern feel about it and the furnishings add to the home-from-home comfort. The pictures on the website give a good impression of the standard of decor of the cottage and off road parking is more than adequate. It is not that far from Bowness-on-Windermere and yet far from the bustle of the busy town for those seeking a quite holiday.

"The cottage is decorated to a good standard, good quality furniture, apart from the leather dining chairs which are peeling and the springs have gone."
They should be replaced. No information about collection of recycling materials, glass, plastics, paper. I noticed there were 2 bin collections the first on Wednesday for general refuse, there was a second on Friday morning, the neighbour had bins and black plastic bags out for collection. A simple thing in terms of providing information.
Thank you for your review. We have now replaced the chairs. We have also put a sign in the washroom regarding bins. Many thanks for your input. Property Owner

"We had an enjoyed stay at Bellman Cottage."
However, there are a couple of things we think need to be improved. The clothes line was too small for a family of 6, you need to have a larger line, particularly because there was no back garden. We felt the information on your website was misleading as we were not informed that the house was on the A road, which could be noisy and that the washing machine was also a dryer, which was not the case. The chairs in the dining room need replacing as they are all ripped. Overall, we felt the house was very clean and kept us cool during the hot weather.

"Lovely property had everything we needed."
-
"What a fantastic vacation home, everything you are used to at home is in this house, very comfortable and fully equipped."
When you "come home" after a long tired day it is like coming into a warm bath, the stove works perfectly and you have all the space to relax. Only points of criticism; the room where the washing machine is located smells of diesel oil, a thorough cleaning would not be wrong since this room is only adjacent to the kitchen / room by a single door. And there is a coat rack missing so you have nowhere to hang your coat. Furthermore, nothing but praise for this house!
-
"Lovely house very clean and tidy all our needs catered for, good area for all we wanted to do."
The only thing we thought that could do with replacing are the dining chairs the seats have gone.
-
"Lovely, private, great location."
Comfortable clean, cosy. This was our 2nd visit to BELLMANS COTTAGE and the changes are wonderful. Didn't want to leave and will be back. Luv it X

"Do not book your holiday with Sykes."
The arrogance when their website didn’t work was less than helpful. After making the booking it wasn’t possible to access my booking, ONLY if download Firefox!!! Bellman Cottage is a great place to stay suggest it’s ‘luxury’ by comparison with many other properties. We will book this property again and not with Sykes.

"Cottage was beautiful well decorated and equipped."
Situated about a mile from the tourist area which I believe gets extremely busy in high season. There are some lovely walks from the cottage, if you don’t want to use the car and several buses stop just outside. We were disappointed that there was no tumble dryer as we got extremely wet several days and we read details as washer dryer thinking it was electric not a metal hanging dryer. Some instructions for extractor fan would be useful too. I would definitely go back to cottage.
-
"This is the second time at Bellman cottage and it's just as inviting as the first."
The cottage is well situated for travel around the lake district, and I particularly like the laundry room, which is ideal for drying wet walking clothes after a day on the fells.
-
"Delightful and comfortable cottage with a modern interior finish, a real home from home."
Good road access, to Bowness-on-Windermere and beyond. Liked the cottage immensely so much so that I booked it again for 2022.
-
"The property was absolutely lovely, home away from home."
Would definitely book again, three on-suite bedrooms were perfect.
-
"Rubbish not collected despite reporting it on multiple occasions."
No mid stay change of towels and bedding in a two week stay. House fabulous. Lakelovers were woeful.
-
"Considering the mess that has been the past two years, this was amazing."
Very professional, totally able to help when needed. Lots of messages to make sure we knew what we needed to know.
-
"Great customer service from Sykes as always, beautiful property in a gorgeous part of the country and would highly recommend."
Only downside was I had work commitments for a few days and the WiFi was down and had been from the previous week. But this would not put us off returning, we had a great holiday.
