  • "Lovely cosy little cottage, clean and well equipped."

We took our two dogs and they loved it. Little courtyard for letting them have toilet breaks and some great walks very close by. Easy to park on the front and walking distance from a dog friendly pub that serves food. My only negative which is trivial and lack of organization on my part. I forgot to pack my shower gel and hand cream. It would have been nice if some was available during our stay. I would definitely stay again and my mum enjoyed it, having the two bathrooms was a bonus.

  • "Lovely property."

Excellent position for access to coast. Very comfortable and well maintained. Kitchen had everything we needed. We are in our 70’s and found the stairs a little steep and the sofas very low!!!! But this an age thing. It was also quite stressful making sure our 3 dogs were put safely back in our car. The road is extremely busy and noisy. But again I cannot fault the property overall. I just think future guests need to be aware of this before they visit.

  • "6D Clifton Drive was a wonderful property and perfectly clean, I did not have to do any dusting or vacuuming before opening the suitcase as I have done in other properties previously."

The bed was so comfortable I wanted to take it home with me and the quilt was duck feather and down which was so beautifully warm. I have also never seen a bath like that, it had a proper shower attachment to wash your hair, quite luxurious! The shower was clearly new and looked beautiful. The kitchen was very well equipped and I wanted for nothing there at all. It was about 50 - 75 yards to the boardwalk, perfect for my walks with Coco my dog in either direction to the windmill on Lytham Green or Fairhaven Lake. The shops were also incredibly welcoming with a dog, you are not a second class citizen in Lytham! Booths is an upmarket grocery store - the butcher and the fresh produce was to die for. The only downside to the property was that the neighbouring property has rights of way across the garden and the entrance gate is onto the main road which is very busy.

It was ideal for a holiday with dogs with long walks along the front and the town was very dog friendly. We had no need to use our car although the weather was very kind to us and we spent some enjoyable time sitting in Lytham Square.

The property was very clean and well maintained with everything you could possibly need. It is tastefully decorated and has a really peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The beds were super comfy. The summer house is a lovely touch for when the weather is not at it's best. We will definitely booking again.

  • "Incredible cottage!"

We absolutely loved everything about our stay. It was so good that we’ve already booked again. Garden - The owners have recently revamped their garden, it’s a beautiful space with great outdoor furniture and our dogs loved playing out there. House - The house was spotlessly clean and very well equipped with everything you could ever need — cooking there was a delight. The beds and the pillows were extremely comfy and it was fantastic and rare to find a two bedroom cottage with both an en-suite and a second bathroom (and such a luxurious bath!). The owners Jamie and Maiara are very warm and kind and very easy to contact via email (they couldn’t have done enough to make our stay as brilliant as possible). We had excellent meals out in Lytham (thanks for the recommendations in the guest book!) and we had some beautiful walks with our pups along the sand dunes and the nearby Fairhaven lake. Love it, love it, love it! Can’t wait for our next trip there. We cannot recommend this cottage enough.

Such a comfortable place to relax in after a busy day out and about. Love that it is so close to the dunes, promenade, Fairhaven Lake and Lytham centre, all within walking distance. Always easy to park outside or to drive to St Anne’s and is a safe neighbourhood to walk the dog at night. Lot of things to do in the area with the dog. Lytham and St Anne’s are both very dog friendly. Already booked to come back again to this lovely property which is now one of our favourite places to stay!

Clean and tidy inside. The courtyard my husband had to sweep as it was mess and bag up 3 dog poop from previous people. And it doesn’t state that the courtyard is a shared access to another Hoilday let which was abit of nightmare with us having 3 dogs we couldn’t let them out in the courtyard to wonder in and out freely as the other people coming in and out left the gate open a couple of times getting stuff in and out of the cars. It’s on a main road

If there was only one thing to mention its if you take your pet, the adjoining property have access through the courtyard and the roadside gate was left open on occasion. Bit worrying if the pet got out but if fully supervised it's a great space.

  • "We were both impressed with the property spacious ,well equipped clean and comfortable."

However midway through our holiday we lost Internet connection, at this point we looked for the welcome pack ! But unfortunately there wasn't one. I then decided to ring sykes help desk and spoke to Josh who was more than helpful but found out the owner lived in Middlesex hence the communication between Josh ,myself and the owner was getting complicated especially as the owner at this point we found out was out of the country (Bearing in mind I'm on holiday) Wednesday night we had no tv and we had both used all our mobile data on our phones , On Thursday morning still no Internet so again rang Josh who tried to help with the technical side of router/wiring etc this was probably the 5th time I'd spoke to Josh and Lauren ! Remember I'm on holiday and in this day & age you can't live without the Internet. I then received a call from Jamie (owner) while we were out , he asked for photos etc of router which I shouldn't be doing while I'm on my break. When we returned to the property we managed to resolve the issue. I'm sure you agree this was a very frustrating situation and look forward to your response and compensation. Regards Michael Pickersgill

Hi Michael, We're delighted that you impressed with the property and that it was clean and comfortable throughout your stay. We're very sorry that the temporary loss of the internet impacted your stay. Unfortunately, the internet outage affected all of our neighbours and the whole street, but we worked with you and the internet provider to resolve that as quickly as possible. We also know that despite all Freeview tv channels working during your stay (as it operates through the aerial, not the Wi-Fi), the loss of the internet prevented you from accessing Netflix during the outage. Again we're sorry that this impacted your stay. Thank you for your comments, we have also taken on board your suggestion and included some key tips and hints and contact information in our house booklet so that we can continue to resolve issues as quickly as possible. • "This accommodation was homely and bright with most things in place."

It is close to all facilities we needed and lovely to come 'home' to. We had a small problem at the beginning of our stay which Jamie the owner, quickly rrctified so thank you Jamie. The only tiny issues were minor but important and easy to organise. These were that it would be useful if there were a number sign outside on the wall for 6D to stand out whilst you are trying to find your accommodation in your car. Also, it would b useful to have a laminated sheet with useful information on or a welcome book, with the Wifi info and a contact telephone number for speedy pick up as I had to use the 1 telephone number for our query.. which was Sykes Cottages and I was holding on for 40 minutes and was then transferred through to someone else. He then said they would contact the owner. In all, that took 55 minutes and still had to be worked on. It would be good to be able to contact the owner on at least an answer machine, as it was a nuisance just having to hold on. Once Jamie was involved , it was all sorted and we had a great time, apart from the weather! Thank you Jamie for a lovely stay. We would stay here again.

Hi Alison, We're delighted that you found the place so homely and that you had a great holiday. We're also really pleased that we were able to help you with the minor issue and that it didn't spoil your holiday. Thank you for your suggestions, we've taken them on board and have produced a house booklet containing lots of information about the property and the surrounding area, hints and tips for our favourite places to eat and drink, as well as key contact information so that we can resolve any issues that arise as quickly as possible. We're really happy that you'd like to come and stay again and of course you're always most welcome. Best wishes Jamie and Maiara Property Owner

Will book again. Fantastic location, great for parking on the street. Never had problem parking outside the property. From the property it only takes 5 mins walk to where you can take the dog on the promenade and dunes or in the park across the road and only takes 15 mins to the centre of Lytham. Both bedrooms have lots of space and both bathrooms are modern. The lounge is bright with lots of windows, spacious and modern. Lots of games which we made use of and the TV has lots of channels to view. WiFi code is on the bottom of the WiFi box on the small table. The kitchen is kitted out with everything that you would need, even cleaning stuff. We took our own, but everything is provided. If you have any issues, ring the owner who is very nice and will get it sorted. The house is attached to a private residence and we met the new owners moving in. Lovely area, felt very safe walking the dog on Clifton Drive late at night. We wished we could live there! We will definitely be back to stay again.

  • "I absolutely loved my time at the cottage and so close to the prom my 2 little cavaliers had a blast."

My only 2 minor criticisms are that you could really use a mirror in both bedrooms for doing your hair etc. I was on my own so not a problem but if there was 4 of you ?? Also, I couldn't get the fire to work in the living room. Perhaps it was me ? Other than that, fabulous and thank you.

Hi Susanne, Thank you so much for your lovely review of our house, it's really appreciated. We have taken on board your suggestion about the need for more mirror, and have placed additional mirrors in both bedrooms, as well as an elegant chair in the main bedroom next to plugs (for hairdryers etc), so that if you come and stay again you can get ready in comfort and convenience. Regarding the fire in the living room, it's not you don't worry! To comply with fire safety regulations its is for decorational purposes only. We have now produced a house booklet which explains this further. We hope to see you and your two little cavaliers again soon. Best wishes Jamie and Maiara Property Owner

  • "The property is situated in a great place for accessing all that Lytham and surrounding areas have to offer."

It is next to a busy road and that comes with the inevitable road noise. Street parking was never an issue and we always managed to park next to the property. The house was clean with lovely bathrooms. Two good sized bedrooms but neither provided a freestanding dressing table or stool/chair next to a mirror to do hair/make up. The beds were reasonably comfortable but only provided two very hard pillows. We had to buy additional pillows to use for our stay. The lounge was a good size. I felt the blinds made the room feel a little oppressive and office like. Curtains or romans would soften the feel even if used in conjunction with blinds, as they were needed to block street view and works in the rear property. The sofas were so uncomfortable and low to the ground. I struggled to get up from them on occasion,( maybe my age doesn’t help but I’m not an unfit 60+).Unfortunately the lack of comfort in an evening after a day walking was one of the reasons we left early. With a few tweaks it would be a great place to stay and my rating would be higher.

Hi Jennifer, Thank you for your feedback. We're really glad that you enjoyed how close the house is to Lytham and the surrounding areas as well as the cleanliness of the property. We have taken on board your suggestions about the mirror and have placed one in both rooms, as well as a full-length mirror in the inside cupboard of the main bedroom. In addition, we have placed an elegant and comfy chair in the main bedroom, next to the wall mirror and plugs (for hairdryers etc) so that our guests can get ready in comfort.
