"Absolutely perfect!"
We cannot rate this cottage highly enough! Just returned after our week at Glenside, we are an outdoor loving family of four, plus our rescue dog, and it was everything we had hoped for and more. The property is so very beautiful, with everything you could need, a real home from home and very deserving of it’s Sykes award! Great kitchen and bathrooms, and incredibly comfortable furniture and beds, fantastic after a day on the fells bagging Wainwrights! Superb location, close to Hawkshead for shops and Lake Windermere just down the road. Hilltop within walking distance was an added bonus. One of the best bits for us though had to be the views from the front of the cottage! The owners are very welcoming and kind, the goodies on arrival were a lovely touch. We also loved how they championed local businesses by including them within the cottage and also taking the time to write up information on each of the products. We’ve stayed in the Lakes area many times, but for us this cottage was by the far the best and we are already planning to return!

"What a beautiful home in such a peaceful setting."
A fabulous base to explore the lakes. Comfortable, very well equipped home. Very comfy beds! Very much a home from home. We will definately return. Thank you
-
"Such a beautiful, well presented holiday home with everything you need for an enjoyable relaxing stay."
A secure garden for your 4 legged friend to run around. Pleasant walks from the doorstep. Overall a wonderful, comfortable place to stay.

"We had a fabulous week at this beautiful holiday home, helped by some exceptionally gorgeous weather."
Beds were very comfy and it was well equipped with everything we could possibly need. It was set in a lovely, peaceful location with views over open farmland. Also handy for the ferry to Windermere and so many other scenic and historic locations. Thank you so much.
-
"We had a lovely week at Glenside cottage very comfortable and homely hope to be back soon"
-
"Thank you, a pleasant house and location, better than expectations."
It was nice to see a gentle quiet part of the Lakes rather than the more rugged. The local roads are not great, satnav often unhelpful, but I guess it helps keep the crowds away. The local wildlife seems to be thriving eg songbirds and red squirrels, or perhaps it seems so because of the dire state of ecology elsewhere in Enlgand.
-
"Our second visit to Glenside and we had another superb holiday."
Perfectly situated and surrounded by superb walks. A great find !
-
"The cottage is beautifully decorated, is very well equipped and in a great location."
It’s very peaceful with views over the sheep and lamb fields. We enjoyed lots of walks from the door and there are 2 pubs, with great food, within walking distance. The garden was secure for our dog and had plenty of outdoor furniture so would be lovely in better weather. We made use of the log burner instead! We appreciated all the little extras too! We would definitely recommend.

"Not the 1st time we have stayed here which tells you everything!"
The owner, Mrs Jones has done a fantastic job with this cottage, really comfy, classy and traditional. Nice touch like logs for fire, freshly layed Sawery eggs and local products on arrival. Can’t compliment this cottage anymore than you will not be disappointed. Cuckoo Brow pub 2 mins walk, Tower Bank 10 mins walk, really peaceful surroundings all day / night but close enough for lots of fantastic walks (Hawkshead, Ambleside, Grassmere/ Coniston) / attractions (Bowness, Grizedale). Good to see Mountain Goat bus back on again this year since Covid. You will not be disappointed with a stay here!

"I could live there!"
So comfortable, homely, with lovely country views We were lucky to meet the owners - Rodge popped around to help us with something technical and we met Anne as we were leaving - Super, lovely very cool country folk - wish they were my neighbours irl Many Thanks to them for putting so much thought and consideration into providing a wonderful product for their guests

"Glenside is a lovely, comfortable property."
It provides a really peaceful stay in a beautiful area, ideal for walks and relaxing. There is everything you could need for your stay and communication with the property owner was very good.

"We enjoyed staying at Glenside, but if the advertisement had been more accurate, we wouldn't have chosen this property because it lacked essential information."
We think you should outline all the property rules regarding dogs because we feel that it was sneaky to not disclose that dogs couldn't be left in the property and that they couldn't access all areas of the house. We were celebrating our 50th birthdays and chose a UK holiday because we wanted to share this with our puppy, who was one when we were at Glenside. Only being informed that he couldn't access all areas of the house and then having to take him to Christmas dinner and leave him in the car was terrible and meant we had to rush our dinner. If we knew this prior to putting down the deposit, we would have chosen somewhere else. Additionally, being informed by Anne that we should have asked questions regarding this beforehand is poor. How can we formulate questions regarding our dog if we don't know the rules? We believe dog-friendly means they can access all areas and be left at home. We would also expect that if you advertise that you have Sky Q, it means that it is the full service. Not having access to sports and movies, especially when the weather is so poor over Christmas, reduced the enjoyment. On a more positive note, Anne was very nice and supportive when the weather impacted our ability to shop and she dropped off some food to tide us over. The house was very comfortable and relaxing and the setting was beautiful even though the weather was atrocious
Thank you for your feedback , it's always helpful especially when it involves possible miscommunication. All the information you needed is accurate and was accessible to you at the time of booking. All of Sykes' dog friendly properties fall under these terms: "Pets We have compiled a helpful checklist of items you might want to bring along for your furry companion! Dogs are required to be well behaved - please ensure that they are to be kept off all furniture. Also remember that they cannot be left in your holiday home unattended at any time. Please remember to bring the bed, blankets and towels as well as their food and water bowls. If your property has an enclosed garden, we can't guarantee that your dog won’t find a way to escape if its determined to go off exploring on its own, so please give the boundaries a quick check when you arrive at the property for peace of mind. Please could you also regularly check the property's outside space and ensure any waste is bagged and binned on departure." Not allowing dogs upstairs is a condition in place as a consideration for all future guests. With regard to Sky Q , there's is a code which allows access to all channels. This system gives an element of parental control. A quick text to me would have resolved this for you. i'm happy that you found the house comfortable and relaxing. We all work very hard to ensure all our guests enjoy their stay in this beautiful part of The Lake District ... whatever the weather.. x Kindest Regards Anne Property Owner

"Beautiful cottage and perfect for our family holiday, especially with a very active 3 year old!"
The cottage was warm, cosy and comfortable and provided everything we needed. Plus the thoughtful extras (jams, marmalades, history of the house) were lovely. 100% recommend and will be booking to stay here again!
-
"Our second stay but this time we went with friends."
Absolutely fabulous cottage. Its spacious, immaculate, a definite home from home. Beautiful location, so many walks from the property. I couldn’t recommend this property enough.
-
"Our third year at Glenside."
We have been staying in Far/Near Sawrey annually for the last 12 years and Glenside is our favourite. Very clean and I love the little extras such as the eggs, jam, soap, shampoo, and beautiful flowers. Anne has thought of everything. A comfortable house which makes you totally relaxed. The location is excellent for walks from the door and cycling. We only needed to use the car once, cycling the rest of the week. If I was going to have to suggest anything then a metal bar on the shed outside wall to lock bikes to. This is not a necessity. In the future perhaps even an electric car charger as we all move over, but for now it is perfect! Thank you for sharing such a wonderful property and enabling us to have family time in our favourite part of the Lake District.
-
"Stunning cottage in a beautiful location."
Near plenty of walks and, more importantly, 2 nice pubs :) We'll hopefully be back in the not too distant future x
-
"Wonderful cottage in a very quiet area of the lakes."
Probably the best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in. Highly recomended. My only negative comment is you need a car to get to see the lakes, the bus routes are none existent in the village.
-
"Lovely place to stay, great spot to explore the area."
Everything you may need was there. The only minor issue is staying there at the end of June, with the longer daylight hours, darker curtains would have been helpful and also the option of turning off the landing light would have been good.
Thank you for your comments, always helpful. In response to the issue regarding the landing light. When we set up the cottage we were advised that It is a health and safety requirement that the staircase is illuminated. It has its own power source in case of power cuts. Property Owner

"Glenside is a beautiful house and we always feel completely at home when we stay here."
Can't wait to go back!
-
"We had a fabulous holiday, thank you very much ."
Our only two suggestions would be provision if a hair dryer and a BBQ . We did remove some stinger nettles from the bottom of the hedge on the first night to avoid any tears from the grand children .
-
"A beautiful house, everything you need is there, comfortable bed with a stunning view across the fields, very quiet location, the bath was great for a nice relaxing rest after a day walking the dog."
The garden is secure so we were not worried about the dog escaping. Close enough to the little ferry to cross the lake to Ambleside and lots of attractions.
-
"My family and friends loved staying here."
What a view!
-
"Excellent holiday at Glenside, starting with the lovely welcome gift."
The house is in a great location, so peaceful with lovely views from the windows and excellent walk with the dog from the door gives outstanding views! Few minutes walk also takes you to a couple of pubs with food. Short drive to to get to many attractions, ferry excursion claife heights viewing tower are excellent. Also lovely cafes at hawkshead and Coniston on edge of lake. The house has everything you could need or want from lovely comfortable beds down to the lakeside handwash and cream! I would highly recommend.
-
"Glenside is by far the best property we have stayed in."
The standard of facilities, furnishings and cleanliness are first rate. The heating and log burner make the house warm and cosy and the laundry room a perfect place for drying wet clothes and soggy doggies. The enclosed garden and secure parking is a welcome bonus and allows your dog a safe place to explore. The owner, who lives in the village, is very helpful and is available if required. Suffice to say we’ll be booking Glenside again.
-
"Delightful cottage, cosy and warm with everything you need."
Home from home. Warm welcome gifts and excellent communication with the owner. Would highly recommend as a great place to stay to explore the South lakes. Thank you
-
"Such a lovely comfortable home with everything we needed."
It was also the perfect location for our days out exploring. It was so quiet too, so great for relaxing after a busy day walking.
-
"Was disappointed that cottage was not as clean as others that we have stayed in."
The ktichen handles / cupboard doors were grubby.
-
"Very comfortable, well equipped cottage in an idyllic location."
-
"Fabulous, contemporary and cosy cottage with a great garden."
A quite location yet easily accessible - with a couple of pubs nearby to end any walks on a high!
-
"Homely, clean comfortable house in lovely Far Sawrey."
We could not want anything more.
-
"Fantastic property with everything we needed and more,"
-
"Glenside is a beautiful cottage which feels like a home from home."
It was not the first time we have stayed here and it certainly won't be our last!
-
"Excellent property, Had everything we needed, with lovely views."
-
"Gorgeous cottage, very homely and comfortable, with fantastic views."
Enclosed garden was great for the dog. Would definitely stay again
-
"Such a lovely cottage."
We were very comfortable there. We were also very well looked after by the host when we had an unexpected personal emergency. Very kind and helpful hosts. Comfortable beds, hot showers, perfect for a family, plenty of space, just like a home from home. We would love to return there.
-
"Our first stay in the Lakes as a family of 5, plus a puppy."
Glenside was fantastic and just perfect for our stay. So many home comforts and everything was thought of, including a tumble dryer, dishwasher, coffee machine and even a spare dog lead (which we ended up needing to use one day!!). A lovely, cosy house which was warm and clean. Log fires and soft blankets to come back to after a long day walking in the English weather! We easily organised a food shopping delivery to save us travelling far too. The location was excellent, with plentiful walks right from the doorstep. As we were new to the area we did a bit of research first, but walked to Hill Top, Claife Heights and Lake Windermere viewing points on various days. Ambleside is only a short drive away so we also spent an afternoon exploring the beautiful waterfalls there, as well as Wray Castle. A wonderful stay in a beautiful house. We would love to return in the Summer
-
"We have been holidaying in the Lakes for the past 7 years but this is the first time that we have stayed at Glenside."
We were so impressed with the property, location and setting that we’ve already re-booked for March 2022!! We could not fault one thing about it and we all had an amazing, cosy, relaxing stay! Ps- The Cuckoo Brow inn pub is just a 2 minute walk which made it even better
-
"Fantastic house in a fantastic location."
Beautifully finished and well-appointed, very comfortable and immaculately clean. We had a very enjoyable cosy week and hope to be able to return in the future.
-
"Glenside is in a convenient location for walking and visiting Hawkshead, Ambleside and Windermere."
It has a lovely view over the fields to the fells and a sunny, enclosed garden with lots of seating. Inside it is charming and well equipped ; plenty of character but with modern touches. We had an enjoyable, stress- free holiday and would be happy to book it again!
-
"What a lovely find."
We were already familiar with Far Sawrey - a lovely oasis of calm away from the main tourist area but in no way isolated. Finding Glenside made for the perfect holiday. A beautifully decorated, comfortable and cosy cottage with lots of room and a great garden. Anne was extremely helpful and very pleasant to deal with - the perfect host. We have already re booked Glenside for 2022!
-
"Lovely cottage in a quiet area of the Lakes but with great access."
Very comfortable and clean.
-
"Comfortable, clean and beautiful house."
A home from home. Fantastic view from garden. Great location for access to walks and pubs. We managed to hardly use the car. Helpful advice about when and where to put bins out. We will be back, hopefully.
-
"Location of property was stunning."
-
"Outstanding cottage, kept to a very high standard by Mrs Jones, our 3rd visit here and we’ll be back."
-
"Glenside is in a lovely location with great views."
It is really well equipped with a lovely garden which is great for sitting out in with a nice glass of wine or a cold beer after a day out walking. It’s lovely and clean and really well presented. We are already booked to return.
-
"We have been here before."
It is a lovely location. We have been to this area the last 20 years and we honestly think this is the best holiday cottage we have stayed in for comfort and facilities. Thank you to the owners.
-
"It was like home from home and Far Sawrey was quiet, slightly off the beaten track and ideal for exploring the Lakes."
Highly recommended especially the local made jam, marmalade and chutney that was kindly left for us, along with the fresh eggs too.
-
"A fabulous spot."
We’d like to keep it a secret!
-
"Glenside is a really lovely home from home beautiful cottage in a beautiful setting."
It is well equipped, warm, comfortable and private. Lots of lovely walks from the door and very well located for visiting lots of the popular lake district places. We had a wonderful week in Glenside, it lacked nothing and was very welcoming. Dog friendly too, always a bonus for us. Just one complaint... A week wasn't long enough!! Oh well, we shall definitely return to this gorgeous cottage. Thank you.
-
"From the time we walked in to coming home everything in the cottage could not have been better."
Things like hot water when needed heating if a bit chilly.Comfort in all areas and a lovely area to sit admire the view or read a book. The owner was always available if needed. The garden was private plenty of seating areas and our cocker spaniel was in her element. Thanks to the owners you had everything just right.
-
"We were after a relaxing break and this cottage enabled us to have the best holiday we have ever had."
It was in the perfect location in the countryside with a gorgeous outlook with plenty of space for us to relax in. The nearby Tarn we walked to several times from the house and via Far Sawrey was well worth a visit, with astounding views available. Being in a less populated area was exactly what we wanted and we found this a perfect launchpad for our daily trips. Hawkshead was often the perfect ending spot for these, particularly the ice cream shop :P We visited Keswick, Grasmere, Ambleside, Coniston, Bow on Windermere and was really amazed at the scenery around Blea Tarn, where we drove over a hill after visiting it and our jaws dropped at what we saw around the corner. The views were something wehad only ever read about and never thought we would witness. Brilliant location which enabled us to have the best break possible.
-
"I appreciated the clear guidance re Covid both before we set off and whilst at the cottage."
We also appreciated all the extra touches such as a Nespresso machine with pods.
-
"This was our 4th time at Glenside and our 3rd Christmas in a row."
We love this property and the area. On the Monday of our stay we woke to no hot water and the boiler was leaking onto the electrics. We alerted the owner as we were going out for the day and had placed a container to catch the water and keep it away from electrics. The owner was unwell but said she would send someone round later. We were not back till much later and don't know if someone came round as no message was left or text received. She also mentioned a ‘tricky guest’ from the week before so we did not want to ‘hassle’ her. We continued to have issues with no water in the morning or afternoon so resorted to boiling the kettle for face cloth washes etc. Of course we could’ve contacted the owner daily but had no correspondence to check if everything ok. On the Friday we alerted the owner that there were still problems. Someone did come to look and a part had to be sent for so that would be Monday! We were checking out on the Saturday which meant we didn’t shower before leaving and made it difficult for us to wash up etc ........ I realise that the time of year was unfortunate (but we do pay a huge premium to book at this time) - when we have booked with Coppermines, who managed the property we stayed at their engineer were sent out immediately to investigate a gas leak. We realise the Sykes do not manage the property but perhaps it is something worth considering and then the owners don’t feel pressured at Busy times of the year.
-
"This was our second week at Glenside this year."
We absolutely adore this holiday home, so much so that even before we had this holiday, we had already booked to go back for a week early next year. For us, Glenside is perfect. It's so homely and comfortable, beautifully decorated and so well equipped. In our last review, we said that we thought it was one of the best holiday homes we had stayed in, but actually we think it is the best holiday home we have ever stayed in. I can't imagine choosing to stay anywhere else in the Lakes. The surrounding countryside is stunning too. We just love it, and we hope to return there many times.
-
"Glenside is a beautiful property in a wonderful location."
Stunning views and a great location on the quieter side of lake Windermere. Would highly recommend the cottage and booking through Sykes.
-
"You did it again Sykes."
This is one of the best cottage we have been in. Everything we need for a comfortable stay. Only drawback being there could have been bath mats in the bath to avoid slippage, but all in all it was a excellent cottage.
-
"The cottage was beautiful and comfortable, with everything catered for."
It was a pleasure to come back to after an arduous day walking in the fells. The owners had thought of everything.
-
"A lovely house in a rural location, next to a farm, townies be aware this is a WORKING farm, we loved watching the farmer working with the (very vocal) sheep and collie."
One dog friendly pub in walking distance, I'd recommend booking. Lovely bedrooms and bathrooms, I'd definitely recommend for a walking holiday - not great for older less mobile people. Front porch has seats in it, great for watching the world go by, back garden was really nice to have a drink in and play badminton, table to eating in the garden - weather willing. We had lovely evenings playing board games, wifi fine managed to stream via our netflix account and successfully streamed music to the echo dot we took with us.
-
"Lovely house, clean, tidy and well presented."
Super location, will definitely be back
-
"The Cottage is in a lovely position overlooking countryside looking towards Near Sawrey and Beatrix Potter's old farm."
It is next to a farm,, but this didn't disturb us at all. Parking was good - off road, and behind a pair of gates that could be closed to completely enclose the garden area. It was comfortable inside, and well equipped with a dishwasher and induction hob oven in the kitchen - and the bonus of pretty fast broadband. Liked that there was a picnic table at both the back and the front of the property, so tat we could eat in the sun for breakfast and evening ( Lake District Weather permitting!). Perhaps the thing we liked the best was that there were several very pleasant walks to be had straight from the Cottage itself .
-
"Loved everything about it, good location, private secure garden for the dog, ..."
Loved everything about it, good location, private secure garden for the dog, lovely views, clean and comfortable with the bonus of sky Q , its a credit to the owners, excellent,
-
"The house was like staying with a friend who had made you welcome and had then become invisible."
Location perfect for walkers, views like a postcard, all facilities we needed except a hairdryer, dog loved it too.
-
"Excellent holiday cottage."
-
"I only say Met Expectations as the pictures and descriptions were spot on, no surprises and a truly wonderful holiday."
The owner Mrs Jones left some extras when we arrived (milk, coffee, tea, eggs, marmalade etc.) which was a really nice touch. The cottage was the 5th we have stayed in Far Sawery over the years and by far the best, plenty of space outside with different sitting areas to enjoy the views and to play a bit of ball! The kitchen and dining area had all the mod conns with a nice separate utility room to wash and dry clothes as we went along, cottage had a nice warn temperature at all times. The living room and sitting room where comfy, cosy and light. Both bathrooms clean bright and light with good power on showers and bath. Bedrooms where spacious, enough storage space (could always do with a few more hangers), comfy beds with extra cushion / covers in wardrobe if required. We had some fantastic walks to Tarn Hows via Hawkshead and back, Grassmere, Ambleside, Ulswater and Helm Crag, all completed with the safe knowledge of returning to a warm cosy cottage. Milkman also delivers Monday - Friday with a good stock of daily groceries with a couple of decent pubs (Cuckoo Brow and Tower Bank) within walking distance. We will defiantly return to this cottage when we visit the Lakes again over the next year or 2.
-
"We absolutely loved Glenside and felt at home as soon as we stepped through the door."
It’s warm, cosy, comfortable and stylish. The owner left thoughtful welcome gifts which were much appreciated and the milkman called every day which was really helpful. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and peaceful with walks from the door and the nearby pub Cuckoo Brow Inn serves fantastic food and is dog friendly with a great atmosphere. All in all one of the best holiday homes we have stayed in by far. Five stars to Glenside we loved it and can’t wait to return.
-
"This is our 3rd time staying a Glenside, so we obviously like it a lot."
The house is very comfortable, warm and clean. We love the open plan living area downstairs and often don't get round to using the second living room. You are right next door to a farm - the only noise is the sheep 'baa'ing' in the morning and the farmer is very friendly. The area is amazing. You can drive easily to some steeper walks but there are also plenty of amazing walks from the doorstep. It's the best of all worlds - comfort, tranquillity and an inn at the top of the road if you want some company.
-
"Lovely place and owner very helpful"
-
"Wonderful cottage with fabulous views across the fells."
Within easy walking distance to 2 excellent pubs. Obviously well cared for property - owner extremely helpful and provided lovely welcome basket on arrival.
-
"A lovely homely and very nicely done up home."
We were very happy.
-
"The house was very warm and cosy."
We loved the wood burning stove, which we didn't really need as we were warm enough, but we enjoyed the luxury of having it burning on a few occasions, anyway. The furniture and fittings were great and the house was well equipped. The location is good, with attractive walks from the door, as well as a short drive away.
-
"A fantastic holiday cottage, with everything thoughts of including towels and poo bags for the dogs."
The only surprise was that there were no rubbish recycling requirements, do you not recycle rubbish in the Lakes???
-
"Having been to the Sawrey area on a previous visit to the Lakes, the stunning scenery came as no surprise."
Glenside is a perfect house to spend time in and offers all you could hope for during a stay. Many great routes and locations are within walking distance including Lake Windermere, Esthwaite Water, The tarns and many a scenic walk. Also, the Cuckoo Brow Inn offers a great place to spend an evening with fantastic homemade hearty food and very good beer/wine. We will be back!
-
"We had a great stay in this warm and confortable cottage."
It has a very well equiped kitchen, very nice living area, confortable beds, a great bathroom and a large garden with stunning views. All according to the listing on the website. We did nice walks in the lake district every day. It was nice to come home after a day on the fells in this lovely cottage.
-
"We had a wonderful week in our lovely holiday home."
It really was a home from home. Furnished and decorated to a high standard. Fully equipment with all you could need. A fabulous time was had by three generations.
-
"Wonderful holiday in a stunning area - the house is extremely comfortable, beautifully decorated and up to date and well equipped, we were an extended family group staying in both properties and would highly recommend these houses, the area and the lovely owner - we would love to return as there is so much to do and even 2 weeks is not enough!"
! The grandchildren enjoyed seeing the farmer rounding up the sheep with his quad bike and sheepdog right outside out cottage gates - fabulous!! Thank you so much for such lovely holiday homes.
-
"The cottage was lovely, warm and inviting to come back to each day."
The water was hot on demand, beds and bedding were new, very comfortable and the whole place was very nicely furnished. The owner had left some flowers, fresh eggs and milk which was a nice touch, and the cottage is situated in a quiet lane next to the owners farm. Very pretty area, lovely place to stay.
-
"Lovely location with some beautiful walks and great views."
Local pub very handy, just a few minutes walk, and very dog friendly for our excitable young dog. They made us very welcome and the food was great. Just two things that I felt worth mentioning. The garden area needs some work. Large area of dirt and mud that I think is yet to be turfed. Not great when you have a dog that likes the dirt! Also I think the bedrooms would have benefited from a mirror to make it easier when drying hair etc. I dried my hair in living area where there is a mirror so not a huge problem Facilities in the property are brilliant. The use of Sky Q an added bonus for the evenings. Everything very clean. Beds very comfy
-
"The location of Glenside is superb and the cottage itself is beautifully appointed with lovely, comfortable furnishings."
It was spotlessly clean with a great bathroom and additional shower room. We appreciated that there was loads of cupboard space for our own food and drink and an excellent utility room. The house is very spacious and light and has spectacular views. However we did have some niggles: There was no hot water on the first morning, until we'd consulted the house book, but we expected that it would have been left on for us. It took us several days to get warm [it was -2 at night] and the heating was set to switch off at 9 p.m. We did light the wood-burner and fire but that didn't help in the bedrooms. There were no mirrors in the bedroom so it wasn't possible to dry hair in front of a mirror. There was a wall mirror in the bathroom but positioned so high I could only see the top of my head! [Admittedly I am shorter than average.] There was a shaving mirror but not suitable for hair drying in the bathroom. Also the coat hooks were set so high my husband had to jump up to attach the coats. The 'welcome page' of the house book included directions for departure, we were instructed to strip the beds on departure, which we don't mind doing but felt we might have been invited to do that rather than be presented with that expectation on arrival. We do appreciate that the turnover time isn't long to clean and prepare the cottage for the next guests. Although I'll say 'yes' to publishing feedback I'm not happy that the niggles are included.

Far Sawrey Cottages
These delightful Edwardian stone-built, semi-detached cottages are situated next door to a working livestock farm, on the edge of the small village of Far Sawrey, close to the village of Near Sawrey and within reach of Hawkshead in the wonderful Lake District National Park. Oozing character and charm and with superb country views, these cottages will appeal to two families who wish to travel together, but stay in separate accommodation. The accomodation is suitable for wedding stays in the local village. Identical in layout and size, the properties have three bedrooms, two of which have feature fireplaces, and there’s enough space in the open plan living area for guests to relax in comfort. Outside each property there is off road parking for two cars. There are walks from these lovely holiday homes with one across the fields that will take you to Hill Top, once the home of Beatrix Potter and now a museum owned by the National Trust. Only a five minute walk away is the village of Far Sawrey which has a pub with the pretty village of Hawkshead offering a wealth of character with whitewashed 17th century houses, tea rooms, pubs, gift shops and the Beatrix Potter Gallery. A must whilst staying at these charming cottages is to enjoy a lake cruise on Lake Windermere, with sailings daily between Ambleside, Bowness and Lakeside, whilst other attractions and activities in the area include walks in Grizedale Forest, fishing on nearby Esthwaite Water and the Aquarium of the Lakes. Two excellent holiday homes for exploring all that the stunning Lake District has to offer.
