The shepherds pie and wine was a lovely touch. Everything you needed was in the hut. The hot tub was amazing and warm enough to use throughout the whole stay. Very private. I would definitely recommend for a relaxing stay

Comfy, cosy, peaceful, well equipped, great explanation of directions on your welcome email. Recommendations would be to add a corkscrew, as we had some wine we brought with us that we couldn't open in the end, that's all we missed though, as everything else was thought of, even a torch and lighter!

The hut was so peaceful and relaxing. It had all the standard ammenities in the property so you only need to pack some food. It backed onto a field of cows so if you take your dog I'd keep that in mind as they do come close to the fence. Really enjoyed the shepherd's pie too, was a lovely touch.

The accommodation was beautiful and as described. The owners had thought of everything that you might need, including a filling meal and fizz for your first night. Shepherd's Sunset is located towards the back of the property, down a little walkway so there are no passing cars, if it wasn't for the cows and the cats you wouldn't see another soul. The views were stunning and would change with the seasons. The hot tub is under cover so can be enjoyed whatever the weather. Lastly, the owner is a lovely friendly and helpful chap. I have already recommended this little gem to friends and colleagues, it's perfect!

About the location

BRAMPTON, CUMBRIA

Carlisle 10 miles.

The market town of Brampton is the ideal base for exploring Hadrian’s Wall. The town boasts a rich and colourful history going back to the Roman occupation, Border reivers from Scotland and the Jacobite uprisings, plus bonnie Prince Charlie established his headquarters in one of the old buildings in Brampton. In the centre of the town is Moot Hall, which was built in 1817, and now houses the Tourist Information Centre, and there is a large motte to the east of the town, which is 135 feet high and has the statue of the 7th Earl of Carlisle on it. A few miles outside Brampton is Talkin Tarn Country Park. It covers 120 acres of farmland and woodland, 65 of which make up the Tarn, a 10,000 year old glacial lake, fed by underwater springs. Two miles away is Gelt Woods, which is an ancient woodland and RSPB nature reserve and has the River Gelt running through it. Brampton is a wonderful base for exploring this historic and scenic area.
