• "A lovely few days in Kilmory Lodge."

  We stayed from 23-27 September 2024. We can honestly say that we couldn't find anything missing from the lodge at all. Down to little things like a sewing kit, cotton buds, a little milk to make a coffee on arrival. It was a lovely cottage and a lovely relaxing few days away. The hot tub was the icing on the cake!

  The surrounding area is peaceful and quiet and the lodge is just amazing! Mark and Julie have thought of everything. There are so many little extras that if you forget anything Mark and Julie have already provided it. The hot tub was lovely at the end of a day exploring the surrounding areas. The property was immaculate when we arrived and we would definitely stay again hopefully for longer!

  The cottage was clean and well furnished with the hot tub a superb feature. The place was very comfortable and relaxing, could not recommend it enough. Ideal for a relaxing break in a good location for anyone who wants to get out and about.

  Mark & Julie have thought of everything and there is a lovely welcome pack on arrival. The hot tub is amazing. Nothing is too much trouble for the hosts and the day before Mark sent all the information needed as to what to do, and is always happy to answer any questions. It’s a fabulous base to start from and after a lovely long day at the Lake District it was so nice to get back and relax in the beautiful property. It really is outstanding and we will definitely stay here again.

• "Kilmory Lodge was excellent."

  It was equipped to a very high standard wanting for nothing. It is located in a quiet village but so much to do close by.. Having the hot tub was a real bonus. The outside areas were beautiful with lots of variety of colour and smell and they were very secluded. The owner was very helpful. The contact made the day before was so thorough anticipating any questions we may have had. On meeting Mark we soon realised that nothing was too much trouble. We would recommend this property without reservation and hope to revisit.

  The lodge was lovely, clean, in a great location where you can drive to other areas should you wish to, but also nice to stay in just to chill.   Such a beautiful, quiet, relaxing place! Tucked away behind the owners home, not overlooked by anyone. It was so quiet, just what we needed. The owner is lovely and has left so much helpful information in the property for you. It's finished to a very high standard and well maintained. Beautifully looked after. They have thought of everything you may need! A nice little pub in walking distance too! We would book this again. Thank you!

The lodge was amazing - the finishing touches were superb, it was extremely clean, the bed was the comfiest we have ever slept in and the hot tub was an added bonus!   We were met on arrival by Mark and he again explained everything to us. The bungalow was way above our expectations, very clean modern and very cosy. The hot tub was the icing on the cake. My advise to anyone wanting a break, you couldn’t go wrong here.

• "We had an exceptional stay."

  The facilities were excellent, the hosts were lovely and greeted us on arrival and were quick to respond to all requests. They were welcoming, provided the basics we'd need for our stay so we didn't have to bring EVERYTHING with us, and we'd happily stay here again. Due to the time of year we didn't explore the local area too much, but the local shop and pub within walking distance was very convenient.

  !.What a brilliant and Immaculate Lodge .We have stayed at several of Sykes Cottages, and this beats them all!!!! Clean, tidy, homely and modern . Everything you might need for your holiday has been thought of and is provided. A credit to the owners!!! Mark and Julie, thank you for a wonderful week and all your help, we will never forget .We will without doubt be recommending this Lodge to out family and friends. As an added bonus it has a brilliant Hot Tub for relaxing in. The icing on the cake!!!!

  Comfortable and immaculate inside with a number of added touches that made it a special stay. Ideally placed to visit numerous places in the North west with a good choice of pubs and restaurants within easy reach. If this was 'Four in a bed' they would be scored 10 out of 10 for every section. This was our second stay and hopefully will not be the last. Would definitely recommend to anybody.

• "An absolutely perfect place to stay."

  The lodge is very well kept , beautifully clean and comfortable. Mark greeted us on arrival and showed us around, he has a lot of useful tips and is extremely helpful, without being intrusive at all. There is absolutely nothing you could need for your stay that isn't already there. The kitchen has an abundance of crockery ,cutlery ,pots and pans, and the welcome gifts and milk were a lovely extra touch. The seating area is so comfortable to relax in, with the bonus of sky cinema, which, due to the weather, we made good use of. The enormous bed was very inviting , and the bathroom ,very thoughtfully, had everything you could need just in case you had forgotten something, a brilliant idea. The hot tub was perfect for sinking into after a good days walking to soak the aching bones and the lights outside made it so attractive at night. Both front and back outside spaces were lovely and pretty and peaceful, the nearby construction works did not disturb us at all The local pub , seven stars, was 10 minutes walk away and was the perfect pub, offering a friendly warm welcome and amazing food......the hotpot is a must to try, and a good variety of beers and drinks, Being on the bus route made the lodge a perfect location to visit places without always needing the car , the bus stop is almost directly outside the property . Overall this place is quite simply perfect and we would recommend it to anyone, you will not be disappointed in the slightest, we have very High expectations from Sykes and this exceeded them all, we hope to return in the future.

• "Kilmory Lodge is the most well furnished and looked after holiday cottage we have ever been to,it was immaculate and everything was a remarkable standard from dishes ,kettle ,dishwasher to fridge freezer and the bathroom was also well fitted out ,don’t forget the lovely comfy bed and the luxurious bedding, the towels in bathroom were also really good, that we ordered the same sets when we got home, what I thought was really good idea was the dressing room,."

• "We had such an amazing time here, everything was perfect, from the quality of the fixtures and fittings, bed linen, towels, kitchen equipment, crockery, glassware - the list is endless."

  We particularly liked the huge comfortable bed with the large TV and lovely bedding - the tv is on the wall and I was able to connect my fire stick with the help of the excellent broadband. The decor is absolutely beautiful with such an attention to detail, and the separate dressing room is an added bonus. We loved the patio areas, both front and back, and were able to sit out to eat every night - just lovely. The hot tub is amazing, and as mentioned in other reviews, there is building work being done over the fence, however, the owners have done an amazing job of screening the area off. We never felt it intruded on our stay at all. There were lovely little touches all around, from the basket in the bathroom of ‘things you may have forgotten’, to the array of treats in the welcome pack along with the gin and tonics and milk in the fridge.

• "Kilmory Lodge was the most beautiful place, exactly as stated on the information, it was like a home from home only better!"

  Even before we arrived we received a video from the owners with everything we needed to know. The lodge had everything you would need & more & was well equipped, nothing was forgotten… even to basket in the bathroom filled with things you may have forgotten to bring. Everything was easy to use & comfortable, well kept & very clean. We were told before we arrived that some building work was taking place on an area behind the lodge but this never caused any concern so don’t be put off, the noise was minimal most of the time & finished mid to late afternoon. The outdoor & hot tub area was clean & well lit but still felt cosy…even in February! I could not recommend this place highly enough, nothing was forgotten or too much trouble.

  Good quality furniture & accessories, the lodge was finished to a high standard, the bed was so soft and comfortable, (i'd say the sofa needs updating). It was alot bigger than expected. Nice little welcome pack on arrival, milk, tea coffee ect, owners were only a call/text away, the lodge is just out the back of the owners home but well sectioned off, we were left to enjoy our stay. I couldn't get enough of the hot tub, cold dark nights with the outside lights on, in a hot tub is my idea of perfect! The log burner was also a lovely addition. Blackpool is about 25 minutes away from the lodge. There was a couple of bad points, although we were told work was being carried out but wouldn't effect our stay, i personalily didnt feel comfortable going in the hot tub during the day due to the workmen, they were very close at some points in the week, and they did wake me up as im a very light sleeper. We also packed light because the photos/video showed a washing machine, however this has been changed to a dishwasher. We had a slight issue with hot water, but owner did come and have a look at the boiler straight away, obviously not the owners fault.

• "We stayed for a week over Christmas, and the whole experience was fantastic!"

  Loved having the Hot Tub and Log Burner, the whole place was cosy, clean and quiet. The lodge was nicely situated at the back of the property so the noise from the road was minimal. Mark and Julie were incredibly helpful and were happy to answer any questions and fix any issues that we had. We're desperate to come back and hope to visit Kilmory Lodge again in the future!

The dressing room is a great space - this is where you will find robes/slippers for hot tub. Front garden is a little sun trap - a perfect spot to read a book. Great communication from friendly hosts - we really loved our stay. 10/10

Just a couple of little personal niggles (might be to do with our age mid & late 70's !?) sofas looked great but seat pads were not comfortable, the high table and chairs were not to our liking as the only table and chairs.

• "An amazing property, perfect for couples wanting a relaxing break."

  The lodge was stunning, modern, cosy, spotless and had everything you would need including some bonus extras from the owners. The bed is the biggest and comfiest we have ever slept in and the shower was divine. The hot tub out the back is very private and the decking overlooks a field filled with bird song, we had Robins and Barn Owls we spotted on our trip. The location of the lodge is about 20/25mins from Blackpool itself, and we loved that would could go to commercial areas during the day but came back to peace, quiet and a relaxed atmosphere at the lodge during the afternoon and evenings. We would definitely recommend this property and if we are ever visiting this area again, we WILL be booking this same property. Thank you Mark and Julie for having us stay

  It ticked every box we wanted and more. The perfect getaway. The instructions from the owners( a short video sent via WhatsApp) were easy to follow. The lodge was in pristine condition. The hot tub was ready to go and fuel for the log fire waiting for us as required. All local amenities were listed for us in the welcome folder and instructions(if required) for all the appliances were also included. This lodge already has a 5star (perfect)status on the app we used to book it with ample reviews. We are more than happy to add to its fantastic rating. We would highly recommend.   A beautiful and spotless property to relax and unwind in peace and luxury. The lodge is stunning, absolutely spotless and fully equipped with everything you may need and more, thanks to the very thoughtful additional touches provided by Mark and Julie! The milk and G&T’s in the fridge were really appreciated but I must say, the hamper of goodies in the kitchen and the basket in the bathroom filled with things ‘you may have forgotten’ were a really lovely surprise and it’s all these little extra’s that made us feel super welcome and helped to make our stay more special. Robes & slippers for the hot tub, logs for the fire, board games, puzzles, books and magazines, lots of information about the local area (nearest pub, restaurants, shops etc), places to see and a folder with all the instructions for everything, it is very clear that the owners put a lot of effort into providing a perfect place for their guests to relax and unwind and they certainly succeed!

  The whole place is just amazing. We absolutely loved our stay and didn't want to leave. We been to so many lodges and cottages all over the UK but this was one of the best lodge.   It was absolutely spotless, nothing went missed at all! It was very well kitted out, and had everything you could possibly need for a weeks stay. Upon arrival there was a food hamper in the kitchen, a basket of ‘things incase you forgot anything’ In the bathroom cupboard, and even robes and slippers for the hot tub, which were such a thoughtful touch. The owners clearly care about the lodge, they have clearly spent decent money on making it beautiful, cosy and maintaining it! The owners really should be proud. After postponements and waiting, it was so worth the wait! Me and my partner will definitely be back. Thank you so much!

  We have stayed at lots of cottages, but this is definately one of the best. The cottage is furnished to a very high standard with absolutely everything you might need for your stay. Mark sent a little video preview before we arrived explaining everything, brilliant idea and very helpful. The hot tub is perfect, with the added bonus of robes and slippers. We would highly recommend Kilmory Lodge and will definitely return in the future. The only downside is the busy main road outside, its almost impossible to see the oncoming traffic when exiting the driveway, maybe a mirror would be helpful??

  Very clear instructions, Mark even sends a video of key location and the basics. Lodge was spotlessly clean throughout. Equipped to a very fine standard. • "Kilmory Lodge has everything to make a holiday perfect."

  A gorgeous patio area at the front with pots and hanging baskets of colourful flowers where you can sit in comfort and have a drink or a meal. There were a couple of G&T's & Milk in the fridge and a wonderful welcome pack in the kitchen. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need. Nothing was forgotten in the rest of the bungalow either, even a sewing kit. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet. I requestd a lightweight duvet and my request was honoured. The shower is perfect and there are large fluffy towels. We didn't use the hot tub but if you do there was a couple of dressing gowns and slippers and extra very large towels. Mark is very helpful and there if you need anything, he even booked hot weather for us, but if you are unlucky and it is cold there are lots of extra blankets to keep you warm. The TV has very good reception and the boardband is fast. I noticed this as we come from the east coast where the connection is much slower. We had a wonderful holiday and I would recommend this bungalow to a couple who like luxury, it has one bedroom with a huge bed and a large dressing room with loads of storeage space.

• "Just got back after spending the week at Kilmory Lodge and it was a lovely holiday in every way."

  The lodge was exactly as it looks on the website and the hosts are always on hand if required but didn't even need them as all instructions were perfectly provided in the welcome pack. Made good use of the hot tub and the bed was probably the most comfiest we have ever stayed in. The local buses were excellent and well worth paying £5.50 for 24 hours that gives you access to trams in Blackpool as well. The area was beautiful and locals were really friendly. Pop down to the shovels inn for good quality pub food and head to fleetwood for a nice quiet beach. Everything about the lodge and area was perfect and will definitely be going back at some time in the future.

  I cannot praise the accommodation and owners enough. The lodge is spotlessly clean, very modern and has everything you need. The bed is huge and very comfortable. The seperate dressing room is a nice little luxury. Kitchen has everything you need and is very well organised and maintained. The lodge has a little private hot tub which is tucked away at the back with a nice veiw. Perfect.

  Very well equipped and even included robes, towels and slippers for hot tub use. A precise, thorough and informative video tour of the lodge and important operating information was sent prior to arrival to compensate for social distancing.   We followed Sykes guidelines taking towels and pillows etc. The Bungalow was beautifully finished and everything we needed was there. Everything worked but after a power cut there was a problem with a TV but the owner quickly came and sorted it for us Patio area and gardens are a joy to sit in. We didn’t use hot tub but it was primed ready for us if we needed it. Great place to stay and visit surrounding areas.

• "What can I say!"

  This lovely lodge has everything you could possibly want for a fab self catered break. Nestled in a little village type setting, with plenty of local amenities. The lodge itself, was uber clean, very well presented, and has a very homely feel about it. Fabulous attention to detail with decor etc. There's a hot tub, which isn't overlooked by anyone, and was great to be used at any time of day or night. The hosts, due to Covid had taken every opportunity to still retain the lodge's functionality. We spoke on Whatsapp, and they were very responsive, both before, during and after our week at the lodge. We had taken our bikes, so took advantage of this when we went out the for the day. There's many places in the surrounding area to visit, whether it be for the beach, a bike ride, a walk, all are very close to the lodge. But when the day is over, the tranquility of the lodge was extremely welcoming. The bed is huge, and extremely comfortable, to the point we noted the make and model of the mattress, and will be ordering one! I cannot fault this lodge, the hosts, the location and I would return in a heartbeat!!!

  The pictures of the lodge look great but they really don’t do the place justice it’s much bigger and really homely in the flesh. The hot tub is completely private at the back of the lodge which meant you felt so relaxed and log burner was really nice as well. Mark and Julie the hosts were always on the end of a text if we needed anything responded quickly but you didn’t feel like they were intruding on your holiday. They gave us some good recommendations for places to eat. The Thornton lodge was very nice pub about 10min drive from the lodge. They also left nice little extras that were a lovely personal touch. If your looking for some a luxury relaxing place Kilmory lodge is the place to stay.
