At the foot of Loughrigg Fell, with the River Rydal running by, Stableman’s Cottage is a magical hideaway within the historic ‘Stepping Stones’ residence, once home to the Wordsworth family.
Children will love jumping across the well-known and much photographed stepping stones nearby, and strolling into nearby Ambleside for an ice cream or to visit the quirky Bridge House.
The village has an interesting range of shops, traditional pubs and fabulous eateries.
There’s even a cinema and live music bar.
The cottage comes with parking for two cars and is reached by a few steps and path leading through the pretty gardens to the private patio.
Inside, a modern and well-equipped kitchen enjoys garden views and lovely dining area.
This is a cosy and sociable space in which to prepare meals, chat and plan the day ahead.
The sitting room with its vaulted ceilings and comfortable seating is the perfect setting for lazy evenings spent watching films or reading.
Up a couple of steps to the lovely bedrooms and bathrooms.
To one side is the double room with en-suite shower room, and to the other the king size and single bedrooms share a stunning family bathroom.
Outside, the beautiful gardens are shared with other apartments within ‘Stepping Stones’ and the view across to the river is picture perfect.

Where better to enjoy a summer supper in the evening sun?
