"Always enjoy our visits to this property."
Well appointed. All facilities work and any issues which have arisen have been swiftly dealt with. Thank you.

"Beautiful house."
Fantastic weekend with the family. Thank you. Tried to book again but fully booked and not surprising.

"Great property in a convenient location which was furnished to a high quality and we enjoyed our stay here ."
The only disappointment was the twin room that was situated differently to to other bedrooms . It was very cold and damp when I arrived . The drawers wouldn’t open and the main door didn’t shut as they had swollen . The towels were cold and damp and I couldn’t draw the curtains on the windows as they were out of reach . I put a heater on and after a couple of days it was more comfortable in there and I could open the drawers. I think this room would benefit from a dehumidifier when not in use. Despite this I would stay here again as everywhere else was excellent .
Hello Barbara, We’re so glad you enjoyed your stay at Garden House. Thank you for your feedback on the issue with the fifth bedroom. This occurs sometimes when the heating is off due to the age of the original part of the house. We will try installing a dehumidifier to see if that improves the situation. Many thanks. "Garden House was a brilliant place to stay - spacious, well equipped and with beautiful views."
We enjoyed the pool table too! Thank you - we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.

"Great house thanks."
Very convenient for Ambleside and the lake. Tried a few local pubs, there are many. Didn't really use the games room. A coffee machine would be nice (EG Nespresso) We were cycling and there isn't anywhere to store bikes so we loaded in our van each night. Not a complaint as such just a note to other cyclists.

"Lovely house in a great position."
Great view from the main room. Well-stocked. Small points: we never really got the heating to work properly in the bedroom area off the games room. The garden is not really appropriate for small children as it is not enclosed and all steps. Nice place for a bbq though!

"We had a lovely stay at Garden House over New Year."
Great views from the balcony of the NYE fireworks. Rubbish had piled up outside but we phoned and this was sorted same day. We only used one bedroom as only two of us, very comfortable and lovely bathrooms. The playroom and downstairs bedroom were very cold but as not used wasn’t a problem for us. So close to centre but also very quiet. Saw the deer in the front garden. Will definitely return and recommend to others

"Garden House was warm clean and comfortable."
Kitchen was well equipped. Might be an idea to get rid of mat in kitchen as end had turned up and three of us tripped on it. First bedroom on left coming down stairs double twin room not enough hooks on curtain looks a bit scruffy. Bathrooms and showers excellent. We loved it.

"The best house to rent in Ambleside for 2 families."
We thought the bathroom updates were great and always find it a comfortable homely space. Already booked for next year :-)

"First class holiday accommodation in a great location."
We really couldn't have wished for anything more.

"Everything was good although found a couple of high cobwebs - I would ..."
Everything was good although found a couple of high cobwebs - I would definitely recommend - one confusion bins collected on Thursday but told to put bins out on Tuesday - a brilliant holiday and would use again

"A few points to note: 1."
The portable heater in the on suite bedroom , control panel end loose. 2. Windows in the on suite bedroom hard to close, handle loose, same as kitchen window. 3. A second wheelie bin would be an advantage, when we got there the bin was already full, either previous holiday makers didn’t put it out or they filled it prior to leaving. 4. On suite bedroom door latch will not hold door closed. Overall very pleased with the property, been a few times and the kitchen refurb is first class.

"This is our second visit to Garden House."
Yet again we had a lovely holiday with our extended family. Plenty of room for two families. Everything we could possibly need for our stay. Good well equipped kitchen. Beautiful evenings spent sat on the balcony with a glass of wine enjoying the views. Looking forward to returning next year

"The lower level twin room we did not use as it smelt and felt damp."

AMBLESIDE
Grasmere 4.4 miles; Windermere 4.7 miles; Keswick 16.7 miles.
Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
