"Everything was perfect apart from the allocated parking space which cannot be altered."
However parking in the visitors space was fine. Very well kept apartment which we have already again for next year

"Thoroughly enjoyed our stay."
The apartment was perfect for us with ground floor access, spacious, well equipped and the patio is lovely. Great views overlooking Windermere. We sat outside for breakfast on the warmer days. A few small things: It wasn’t immediately obvious to us that the water was switched off. I was worried there was a problem until I spotted the notice on the back of the door. I wonder if that could be included in the arrival information in future? I requested a shower mat (which we picked up from the office) as my partner was worried about slipping. The clothes drying rack provided was old and partly broken. It snapped when I put it up so I bought a new one to replace it. I don’t know how often the inventory is checked. I couldn’t find a grater which was listed. Aside of those minor quibbles everything was lovely and we’d definitely stay again. Thanks

"The apartment was very comfortable and very well equipped."
There were instructions o; how to use the different items of equipment- but nothing about the TV as the pages for this were missing. The setup includes a digibox and it would be helpful to have details of how to work this in conjunction with the LG tv. The lake view and patio were lovely and it was great to see the sheep grazing nearby. There’s a path from the patio going up the hill which looks interesting if you happen to be good on hills. We didn’t try it this time. The location of the apartment is excellent as it is by the Waterhead Pier and about a ten minute walk from the centre of Ambleside itself. Parking is fine but not in the designated no 12 spot as this is very small. We used a ‘Visitors’ Parking’ space adjacent to the apartment.

"Romney 13 is a very generously proportioned apartment, the living spaces are very large and the kitchen exceptionally well kitted out."
The bathroom plus ensuite means there's plenty of bathroom space too. The location is great for getting aroind the Lakes and the outside seating facing south is a lovely sun trap. On this trip we specifically needed a single level easy access place to stay Romney 12, again, was perfect from this perspective. All in all a great place to stay, and I'd highly recommend.

"A superb flat with amazing views and extremely well equipped."
The only fault we found with it was that there were no sockets near either of the dressing tables so to use my hotbrush hairdrier I had to use the TV screen as a mirror.

"Everything was great - convenient for going round the Lakes, well equipped, clean to a T, and great views!"

"Lovely, spacious, comfortable, well-equipped apartment."
Quiet but convenient location with plenty of cafes, pubs and restaurants within walking distance.
-
"This is a wonderful property with an amazing view from the garden."
We even had several sightings of a deer in the well manicured gardens. The property was well equipped and close to Water head and the ferries. We did find the allotted car parking space tight for our Kia but there were plenty of visitor spaces that we used. Can highly recommend the property.

"We had a lovely stay in this excellent apartment."
So comfortable and warm and everything there that you could wish for. Little thoughtful touches like a little basket on the dressing tables to put your watch in and jewellery etc. Fantastic view of the lake, lovely walk into Ambleside from the lake through the park and couple fields, so nice. Thankyou so much.

"The apartment was lovely, a home from home and a lovely patio area to sit out for the early evening sun."
Not sure if it had been cleaned properly though - huge dead spider in the ensuite bedroom and had to clean an unpleasant mark in the toilet.
-
"Overall, the place was amazing and we have very little feedback."
We really enjoyed our stay. It would've been nice to have some essentials there (hand soap in the bathrooms, basic toiletries for the shower). We didn't have a car and the grocery store in Ambleside town isn't that close. Some of the dishes had been put back in the cabinets without washing - probably a miss from the cleaners. The door leading to the patio seating area doesn't lock. This is a security hazard as anyone can easily enter the property from there.
Thank you for your feedback. We have raised your concerns with the cleaning team. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and the property. Property Owner

"It was a beautiful apartment."
Very clean, spacious, comfortable and had everything you would need or want for your holiday .Everything was very well thought out. It was a lovely quiet location but only a short walk to the town and minutes to Waterhead. We definitely want to return. Thank you.
Thank you for your kind comments. It is lovely to read that you had an enjoyable stay. We hope to welcome you again. Property Owner

"We did enjoy our stay but were disappointed to have to take our own bedding as the owners only provided feather bedding which my sister is allergic to."
The website didn't mention feather bedding, which we feel is important ,luckily we read a review from someone with the same problem so were able to take alternative, however on arrival were shocked to have to make up the beds completely, bottom sheets were just left on the bed folded and we had to put them on.When we told the lady in the Hearts of the Lakes office (on departure) she wasn't really interested. Also for the price would have expected more than 1 toilet roll in a bathroom, again the lady said well it's self catering, we always do self catering and have always had spares plus always had lovely welcome packs, eggs, milk, bread, marmalade, crisps and sometimes wine and cream teas but nothing here. The apartment is really lovely, bright and clean, very quiet with beautiful views but just let down with the little finishing touches which for the price you would expect, we think.
Thank you for your comments, we are glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay, and that you found the property to be clean and enjoyed the views. We take all comments on board. Property Owner

"First visited Romney 12 in 2011 & returned there many times since."

"Everything was first class"

"The apartment was wonderful."
Location , views and amenities were excellent. The reason for only awarding 3 stars for comfort is because the mattress on the double bed was extremely uncomfortable. The springs were felt, resulting in reduced quality of sleep and rest. One could say "past it's best". It would have been helpful if people were informed about duck down quilts as, in our case, we prefer polyester on the basis of allergy. Apart from those two points, fabulous.
Thank you for your kind feedback. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay. We do find the pillows and bedding is down to personal preference. We hope to welcome you back. Property Owner

"Wonderful accommodation."
Wonderful holiday. Would definitely stay again.
-
"A wonderful and well located property with plenty of room, views over Lake Windermere and a fantastic patio to enjoy the evening sunshine."
-
"Lovely apartment with superb views and a very convenient location."
On arrival the water needed switching on which could have been explained more clearly and the locks both inner doors where a little stiff. However despite these minor issues we had a fantastic week in this apartment and would not hesitate to book it again. Highly recommended.

"We took my parents to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary."
Everyone had a wonderful time. It was so relaxing and the views were amazing.

"This was our 5th stay at Romney 12 and of all the rentals at Romney Grange this one suits us best."
In 11 years little has changed apart from some new glazing including the patio doors. The lock for the patio doors had seized when we arrived but Heart of the Lakes acted quickly to get a specialist fitter out when maintenance could not repair the problem. There is also a new TV with an excellent choice of programmes including some streaming. One small negative was the condition of some of the non stick saucepans and pans which is obviously down to a lack of care by some guests. All in all, another fine holiday and we've already booked our next visit.

"We had a lovely time and thoroughly enjoyed our time at Romney 12 The property ..."
We had a lovely time and thoroughly enjoyed our time at Romney 12 The property was very well equipped but the description and details on the website was sparse The description missed out on details like a hair dryer and iron -We were told by Sykes that these were not available so we ended up bringing them along unnecessarily Also that there was a smart TV on the property should be highlighted as this was not on the description
Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay at Romney 12. We have updated the details to now include hairdryer and iron for guests to use (these items were removed due to covid requirements from some properties) also added the Smart TV. Thank you once again and we hope to see you again in the near future, regards Heart of the Lakes team Property Owner

"Romney 12 is a beautiful apartment, and we had a great week there."
We arrived mid January, and understand the apartment had been empty for 1 to 2 weeks. Storage heaters provide most of the heating, but the apartment was freezing cold and the storage heaters did not provide any warmth until the following day. The small electric heaters did not provide enough heat to make a difference. Please note, this is not a complaint, merely wondering if someone would be able to arrange sufficient heating for guests on arrival in very cold weather.

"We have been visiting Romney Grange for many years and think that no."
12 is one of the best. We love the layout of the apartment and the patio area is a real delight. Our only regret is that the bath was replaced by a shower. There's nothing like a good soak following a long walk. In previous years we have not used the kitchen very much, but because of the pandemic we bought most of our food with us. This is probably the experience of many recent visitors The kitchen is very well equipped and works very well. The only draw back is the fridge freezer. It has been well used and needs to be defrosted, but I appreciate that with the tight turnover of bookings this is difficult to do, but I hope the owners might consider replacing it when they have the opportunity. Apart from this detail the apartment meets all our needs and we will return.

"A return visit to Romney 12."
Great property, great location. Wonderful, and comfortable, base from which to explore the area.

"Lovely accommodation in a beautiful setting"
-
"The accommodation was excellent, well equipped and conveniently located."
If the weather was poor, staying in was not a problem as the apartment was so comfortable. The kitchen had everything you could need, and we ate in a few times as getting a table in a restaurant was well nigh impossible. a second set of keys would have been useful as we didn't always all go out and come back together. Better instructions for how to top up the hot water would be helpful.
-
"The apartment was as described on the website, very clean and comfortable as well as being very well equipped."
We were concerned about how hot the water temperature was. It comes very quickly and can catch you unawares - a potential hazard for children and older visitors. Hopefully it can be adjusted for future guests. Otherwise, it was a thoroughly enjoyable week in our second visit to Romney Grange.
-
"Second visit!"
A cheers to the third! Excellent views with exceptional weather all week! Thank you all.

"Been coming to the Lake District for over 20 years!"
Romney 12 is the best self catering we have had. We will be returning soon.

"A beautiful 2 weeks in this apartment with no rain, only sunny days."
The location is extremely convenient for walking and the lake boats.
