• "FOREVASINGLEMAN myself stayed here all on my happy own for 23 nights over the 2024 into 2025 Christmas and New Year festive season from Friday 20 December 2024 from 4pm GMT onwards, until Sunday 12 January 2025 up to 10am GMT."

  The welcome pack of 1 large bottle of wine, plus three packs of cookie biscuits is a bonus. The apartment was nice, spacious, clean and welcoming. A few minor issues but did not spoil my holiday at all, was one light bulb in the lounge popped (expired) on the very 1st evening itself, the day of arrival, and the other lounge bulb ironically popped (expired) on the very 2nd (1st full day), the day after. Luckily i managed to buy 2 replacement light bulbs (both more powerful than the original ones that popped (expired). The Christmas external lights did not work, as the batteries there obviously expired, but again did not spoil my vacation, as the internal Christmas lights did work. The toilet in the bathroom upon the very 1st flush of my stay and subsequently for the rest of my stay until my departure did raise fairly high until dropping after the flush, suggesting that one of the previous holidaymakers here, put something down the toilet that should not have been placed there originally. The bathroom sink plug initially was loose as it did not want to plug in properly (a previous holidaymaker due to neglect here), but 1 week into my stay when i plugged that particular sink plug in the bathroom for me to have a shave, it got stuck, and remained lodged for the rest of my stay, which meant for the remainder of my holiday, i had to scoop out the water contents into the toilet every time i had a shave, and for other matters, i had to use the kitchen sink, for teeth brushing, mouth washing and face washing, but again it did not hinder my holiday. Apart from that, i enjoyed my holiday indeed. The apartment veranda was a welcome boost, popping out on it when i stayed on all day on Christmas Day 2024, Boxing Day 2024, New Year's Day 2025, and the Scottish New Year Bank Holiday day itself Thursday 2 January 2025 as it happens. The Smart Colour TV was a godsend, enabling me to temporarily install, and uninstall my own apps such as STV Player, You Tube and BBC iPlayer, etc, thus enjoying my stay even further during my time here. I only slept in 1 bed throughout my stay, and that is the single bed in the smaller 1 of the 2 bedrooms in the apartment itself, and all on my own with a smile on my face, being forever single myself is what holidays are all about, enjoying one's very own company with no brain damage whatsoever. Finally, never say never i say, because i could god willing have a 2nd holiday here at some further point in my entire life. Thank You very much indeed to the proprietor who made my very own holiday here in general a good holiday indeed.

• "Another fantastic stay, warm very clean very quiet and so well equipped ."

  More great walks on fells, riverside and canal lots of nice friendly shops and pubs . Lancaster 30 mins away on the bus and well worth a visit or two £1 after 7pm so we made good use of it for a few evenings out there. Looking forward to next visit already . Superb

• "Faultless, amazingly clean comfy and so quiet yet right in the heart of a thriving and very friendly market town."

  Spoilt for choice as to great walks pubs cafes or even a canal trip all within walking distance . Explore further to historic lancaster , art deco morecambe or brash blackpool , even easier with a regular bus to the front door ! We even got as far as the lakes by bus , so scenic even just locally. Market day thursday and posh supermarket booths ensured we were well fed and watered with local treats . The cleaner is amazing the place looks like new

• "The property was exceptional and had everything one might require for a lovely stay in Garstang and the surrounding area."

  Arrangements with keys worked really well. Basically we could not have asked for better. We had one drawback with Sykes (nothing to do with the property) and that was that we were completely unable to contact them after booking. We needed an answer to a question to do with booking but were unable to make contact. The ‘contact us’ section on the app threw up an error message at every attempt. In the end everything turned out well.

• "River View is a bright, modern flat with great facilities."

  Particularly, the kitchen is very well equipped. There is a large balcony with comfortable outdoor seating and views across a wooded area towards the eponymous river. The only drawback that we found is that the flat was rather warm for us even on a clear June night with the radiators all turned off. Guests who feel the cold will love it; others should be aware. Garstang is a pleasant market town with several pubs and a range of eating options. There are two supermarkets and a number of speciality shops including a butcher, a fishmonger and a cheesemonger. Those who enjoy cooking and a few pints will be in heaven. Transport connections are good, making the town a great base for exploring. River View is highly recommended.

• "We were impressed by the opportunity."

  We liked the welcome pack, thank you, the cleanliness, the facilities, the parking & the general ambiance of the town. There was plenty to do - pity about the weather for 2 of the days. The were a couple of cons we can share. The fact that since the initial weather was good, the terrace was really hot as was the apartment. We would suggest the provision of an air fan for the summer months would solve this ( we know air con is out of the question). As We said only a problem in the very good weather. And second, since we are both in our mid 70’s, getting in & out of the bath proved challenging without a hand grab. We managed. A great stay! Peter & Jane Boyd

We have used the apartment on a few hot days and found that keeping the curtains closed during the day was enough to keep out the worst of the heat. But we will get some portable fans in too as a back-up. Let’s hope they get lots of use over the Summer, and the balcony is a lovely place to sit out and enjoy the evening as you found out. We will also source some grab handles for the bathroom - that’s a good idea - thank you. Overall though it sounds like you had an enjoyable stay and these things didn’t detract from that too much. • "Beautiful apartment in a beautiful setting."

  Well catered for with everything you need Shops, restaurants, cafes all on your doorstep. Good walks along the river which couldn't be nearer, hence the name "River View. Would certainly recommend it.
