  • "Great location."

Perfect for exploring the area . Cottage was perfect with Smart TV for the kids in the twin room and there own loo and sink also . Everything you need. Warmth and comfort . And if your dining in .. everything is there is for self catering . But also plenty of take aways in settle which is only a 10 minute walk . As well as the pub next door or the bucks head round the corner offering cask ales and great food . Only downside . Couldn't open sky light in the top bedroom. Parking could be an issue but we always seemed to get the last free spot. there was plenty of street parking a few hundred yards away if not .

  • "Incredibly clean cottage, well located for everything in Settle and the surrounding area."

As a solo female traveller the area felt very safe. As a non driver the station and supermarket were close and there were plenty of walks/bike rides from the town. Although the pub is right next door it wasn't noisy at night.

  • "Nice cottage, great location, the only issue was the church opposite, the bells wherever 15 minutes, even through night!"

  • "Loved our time here, situated next to the pub that is perfect for food and very welcoming."

We didn’t find parking an issue, as you could park and unload, then find a spot. Will definitely return.

  • "Very nice property."

The only items would be lack of kitchen roll, and absence of a focal point such as a fire.

  • "We think it should be made clearer that parking is impossible very close to the cottage."

We knew from the past that this would be so, but for some people leaving their car a few minutes walk away might be difficult.

SETTLE

Malham 6 miles; Skipton 17 miles; Kendal 25 miles.

The bustling market town of Settle lies at the south west rim of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, nestled beside the largest outcrop of limestone in Britain - a region of scars, cliffs, caves and potholes - amongst some of the most picturesque scenery in North Yorkshire. Tuesday is market day in Settle, when the square is filled with stalls offering a wide variety of crafts and goods. The market place is surrounded by local businesses, the centre being dominated by The Shambles, an historic three storey building with shops on two levels and houses above, and the Town Hall. There is a good selection of restaurants and pubs and a public swimming pool. The Victoria Hall has entertainment and other activities such as folk nights throughout the year. The famous Settle-Carlisle Railway crosses some of the most beautiful and inspiring upland scenery in the country. Natural attractions such as Malham Cove and Gordale Scar are within easy reach, as are the nearby Dales towns of Skipton and Malham. Settle is in the midst of excellent walking country and is a good base for touring the Dales, the Lake District and the Forest of Bowland.
