"Really lovely cottage in a fantastic location."
Great walks straight from the door with easy access to other areas of the lakes. Close to the village centre and shops, and close to the pub. Cottage was clean and well appointed. Had everything we needed for a relaxing break. Would definitely come again.

"We spent week in October staying at Millcroft."
We found the cottage very comfortable and warm with a well-equipped kitchen and comfy beds. The position in Glenridding was great, with a short walk to all the amenities (pub and shops including a super outdoor equipment shop) and direct access on to the hills. The parking was very convenient for bringing our muddy boots through the back door.
-
"Fantastic property, well equipped, spacious and clean."
Location is in centre of village with plenty of walks from the doorstep.
-
"Our second stay at Millcroft, we love this little cottage."
It’s really comfortable and in a great spot. The cottage has everything we need for a lovely holiday. We took our own pillows this year as we find the cottage ones are too hard. We very much appreciated towels being provided. Thank you
Thank you for your kind feedback, we are pleased that you enjoyed your second stay at Millcroft. We take all comments on board. Thank you. The Lakelovers Owner Relations Team Property Owner

"2 Millcroft is a comfortable and well-equipped cottage which provided an excellent stay in a favourite part of the Lake District."
All the local amenities are easily accessible and we set off walking the fells from the front door most mornings. We would happily recommend it to others without reservation.

"Clean, warm, comfortable, good/well equiped kitchen, comfortable beds ."
.. nothing to complain about

"Get it booked asap it's really good with nice pub up road if you don't I'll beat ..."
Get it booked asap it's really good with nice pub up road if you don't I'll beat you to it because it's a definite return on my bolt hole list

"We struggled to find the parking as none of my paperwork said it was round the back of the property."
-
"Beautiful cottage in a great location, ideal for walking up Helvellyn or the Ullswater way via the steemer."
Recommend the Travellers Rest for friendly pub food. The real fire was great on cold nights, remember to take wood and firelighters with you. The beds were comfortable and the pressure of the shower was great, only down side were the steep stairs after a long walk, but the bath soon relieved weary legs.looking forward to our next visit Lovely gesture with the mince pies and prosseco for celebrating new year.
-
"A lovely cottage that was well equipped with everything we needed."
A great location and excellent opportunities to get out on the fells without needing to move the car.
-
"One of the best equipped cottages I've stayed in."
-
"This was our second stay at the property which we find very conveniently located for walking (several good walks can be done from the door) and for access to Ullswater where my wife likes to swim."
Obviously we are satisfied with the property as we have returned and may do so again although as pensioners we find the stairs rather steep. The cottage is clean and comfortable and everything seems to work fine. We noticed one cup has a large crack and needs replacing - we just did not use it. Whilst the cottage is a comfortable base to return to it does not have extensive views, only glimpses of the fell tops, so might not suit someone who likes to remain at the property in the daytime. Also parking is tight and the owner of a large vehicle might have some issues. Overall we would recommend this property.

"Cottage was generally good, well equipped and clean."
Just a couple of niggles, the oven on the fan setting would not go above 150C, which made cooking a bit difficult. Smell of oil from the boiler was really over powering at times. Smell of damp in the bathroom and we put the heating on for half an hour one night to dry towels but the radiator in the bathroom did not work.
-
"Fantastic property, probably the best kitchen for equipment although the oven struggled to get up to temperature."
Directions to the property were tricky but we got there eventually. Overall a very comfortable cottage in a great spot. Would definitely recommend!

"We stayed at Millcroft in late June after travelling up from London for a family wedding."
The cottage has a very homely and welcoming feel to it. It was equipped with everything we needed and also had a lovely garden to sit and relax in. The hosts have left folders with instructions and information regarding the cottage and they also have leaflets and books for tourists on places to visit and the various walks to do. There is parking to the rear of the property which is an added bonus. This is accessed by a turning after the third stone cottage. It is only a small turning but leads you to three bays of which the middle one belongs to Millcroft. Access to the property is also from the rear. I would stress that the steps in the garden are quite steep and someone less able should be cautious. Glenridding is a great place to explore the lakes and is a hidden gem. If we return to the area we would happily book this cottage again.

"We had such a lovely time at Millcroft."
The cottage was clean and had everything we needed for a weeklong stay. The garden was nicely kept and perfect for sitting out in the sunny weather (we were very lucky all week), with a handy parking spot and shed. The area itself is stunning! We had a wedding at the nearby hotel, right on Ullswater lake which was very convenient. After that we spent the rest of the week canoeing, kayaking and walking around the lake and surrounding hills. I cannot stress enough how amazing Glenridding is for a holiday in the lakes; a couple of shops and pubs, plenty of trails to explore and within reach of the rest of the lakes by car. We go on a UK break every year and this has been our favourite by far. We would absolutely recommend Millcroft, as well as the guided kayak tour on Ullswater, the Travellers Rest pub just up the road for food and drinks, and if you’re feeling fancy, the Inn on the Lake for drinks on the terrace with a lakeside view. Beautiful :)

"2 Mill Croft is a very comfortable home from home with plenty of space for 4 adults and all the gear needed for a wet week in the Lakes."
Plenty of space to unpack and then dry boots, coats etc. Even the washer came in handy after a muddy day! The kitchen is well equipped and cooking was a pleasure, especially as the new owners of the Mini Mart stock everything you could possibly need to make tasty meals. Chilli lovers especially should visit. Great walks from the door, stunning views and a range of books with walks for all levels. We didn't play any of the games, but those who want in house entertainment will be well sorted. A pleasant small garden at the rear will be lovely in the summer but was only admired from the window. Highly recommended, we plan to go back.

"Lovely cottage, both warm and cosy."
The location was superb, with enough great walks straight from the back door.Car not required!,even the local corner shop stocked everything we ran out of!

"Millcroft was generally well-appointed and comfortable."
We enjoyed our stay - thank you; though it didn't quite feel like it offered the value for money to which we are accustomed - thus the 4/5, not 5/5 (e.g. as of course one takes one's luck with weather in the Lake District, and on our weekend, the weather was poor). A couple of specific minor improvements would be: - First, for some new frying pans in the kitchen, as the non-stick coating was no longer non-stick on the larger ones; and - Second, for a quieter/shorter-running extraction fan in the bathroom. It would also have been useful to know that the parking was at the back of the property, just to save one of us having to scout for this on arriving (in the cold, dark and rain) on the Friday evening. We had understood the key safe to be at the rear entrance, but we didn't appreciate the parking was until scouting round to that. We did remember to take our own towels, as was indicated in the pre-visit communications - though that they were required seemed a little odd, given bedding etc. was provided? (I wonder at the reasoning for that.) Everything else was fine - e.g. the heating/lighting was controllable, the television and set-top box worked, the furniture was in reasonable condition, and the beds and bedding were very comfortable, which to us is very important; thank you.

"A very comfortable and well equipped cottage in an excellent location."
-
"MILLCROFT is a very pretty cottage and ideally situated."
However, until Owners include bath & hand towels, I won’t be recommending this pretty place.
-
"All Was fine with the cottage and our stay was great with one minor issue being the stairs they were steep and difficult to climb."
I have a weakness in my right leg and found it difficult. Apart from that the cottage was well fitted out and the bedding very comfortable.
-
"We had a perfect stay at Millcroft 2."
We liked the cosy and traditional style of the cottage and garden. It was well equipped. It has everything what we wish for our holliday. Thanks for the hospitality. Many greetings from Bert and Jolanda de Jong.
-
"Great cottage in a great location."
Very well equipped and lovely and clean. Fabulous!
-
"The cottage is in an excellent location to explore the impressive surroundings."
Great to have some shops close by. The ice cream is excellent especially after a long walk! The cottage is very well equipped for self catering. We had a comfortable stay!
-
"We loved our stay at this cottage!"
The back garden and view are absolutely lovely. It was clean and surprisingly spacious. Beds were very comfortable. We love Ullswater so it was nice to be back. We’d definitely stay here again! Please consider providing towels. We traveled here from overseas and getting hold of towels to use for the week was not easy.
-
"A fabulous little cottage - comfortable, well-equipped and ideally situated for many walks straight from the door."
There was plenty of space for 2 adults and 2 teenagers. The garden space and the shed were an added bonus; brilliant for drying off kayaks after paddling in the lake! We had a fabulous week here (the sun even shone!) and would love to return...
-
"We loved our stay so much at Millcroft that we have already booked for 2023"
-
"There is only one question we ask ourselves at the end of a stay - would we stay in that cottage again?"
In the case of Millbeck - yes, definitely. In a great location, it was well-equipped, clean, warm and comfortable and a pleasure to return to at the end of a walk on the fells
-
"The kitchen was very well stocked with cutlery and crockery, the saucepans all appeared to be quite new and the cooker was very efficient."
Plenty of storage space. Will probably book again. Glenridding is a very good location for us, with walking access to the hills and the lake.
-
"One of the best cottages I have stayed in at the Lake District everything 1st class ,add to it a week of lovely walking weather in September no need to drive perfect."
-
"Everything was provided and clean."
The only recommendation I would make is better lighting in the lounge.
-
"Fabulous cottage in a very central location for all of Glenridding’s amenities"
-
"Lovely cottage, fully equipped and immaculately clean."
Gorgeous location - we didn’t need to move the car all week. Recommend Ramblers, in the Inn on the Lake, for eating out.
-
"Some garden chairs with backs would be only thing missing!"
The shed is plenty big enough for them and garden benches a bit hard on the bottom thanks. Cottage lovely clean modernised and extremely comfy beds and sofas. Glenridding is full of lovely things to and useful shops Gallery boat trips beautiful walks lovely vacation.
-
"Really cosy cottage in excellent location."
-
"Although the cottage was as advertised, we were disappointed by the standard of the fittings and particularly the seating in the living room."
The dilapidated sofas (which were minus the cushions for COVID reasons, we get that) were so uncomfortable we finished up sitting on dining chairs - which have also seen better days - most evenings. Providing an open fire yet not even a starter pack of logs, matches and firefighters seems a bit mean! All in all it was quite a depressing little cottage and we were glad to be able to be out of it most days. Good points were comfy beds and plenty of hot water, a well equipped kitchen. I won’t recommend Sykes as we had zero communication from you after lockdown was called part way through out stay. We love the lakes returning many times, but we won’t stay here again, for the money it was definitely not worth it!
-
"Door to back porch from kitchen needs to be kept shut as the smell from the oil boiler is overpowering."
-
"Some of our party found the duvets to be on the thin side for winter, although others were perfectly happy with them."
On the whole it's a very nice, well-equipped cottage that it is ideally situated for access to plenty of mountain or valley walks.
-
"Sutch a lovely cottage, warm and cosy, great walks in and around the village."
Nice places to eat and drink.
-
"Lovely cottage in a great location."
We would definitely use this property again
-

The location was perfect for walking in the fells and the scenery was breathtaking.
-
"Excellent cottage would recommend ."
..
-
"Millcroft is an excellent base for any holiday in the Glenridding/Patterdale vicinity."
The cottage has all the facilities and home comforts needed, inlcluding free wi-fi. Highly recommended
-
"Very comfortable cottage, close to shops, pubs and a tiny walk to Ullswater."
Nothing to fault. Thank you
-
"The cottage was very warm, clean, pleasant and very well situated for our needs."
The area of Glenridding is outstanding and if we were younger it would be one of the few places which we would re-book--but it would have to be the latter half of September -early October. We had a great cycling/walking holiday--even the weather was kind to us--allowing for it be the Lakes. Regards, John and Jane
-
"Great cottage - really comfortable and clean."
Had everything we needed.
-
"Perfect location for us as we were working on our boat at the sailing centre."
We had a second car so left it there as with only one parking space at the cottage it could have been expensive to park. It would have been helpful to have details of parking charges on website. The cottage was very well equipped and beds were fabulous!
-
"The cottage is perfectly situated for walks from the front door and is in a very short walking distance to the shops and bars in Glenridding."
It's really well equipped, cosy and comfortable, lovely to have an open fire after walking in the snow and to find the heating on when we arrived. The beds are also very comfortable. It was helpful to have a few basics there, in case people hadn't brought them, such as washing up liquid, dishwasher tabs, loo rolls etc. We noticed others had commented on it not being obvious that towels are not included, but I think all sites now have that information on them. One suggestion would be, that as the shower is over the bath, a non-slip mat for the bath would be good. We brought our own but most people wouldn't think to.
-
"Very comfortable cottage, close to shops, pubs and short walk to Ullswater."
-
"Great location, good size cottage."
Open fire. Only thing missing was towels.
