"Fabulous cottage in great location overlooking the Bay."
Spotless and great to have welcome toiletries and tea/ coffee. Mattress on master bed is getting a bit tired.... Would love to return. Thank you x
-
"Property is absolutely fantastic with lovely views over the bay."
Lovely clean and tidy. A second toilet would be useful and a couple of monor repairs would be good.
-
"Fantastic Property."
Highly Recommend White Stones For A Family Break! We Enjoyed This Property So Much We Have Already Booked For 2025!

"We had a great week staying at White Stones."
Spotlessly clean, comfortable snd well appointed. It had everything we needed, including a lovely welcome pack with biscuits, teabags snd some shower get shampoo and soap. We could see the bay from the house and it was literally a 2 minute walk to the beach. There was something magical about the lights over the bay, even when raining! Great stay, will be back .Thank you

"Beautiful cottage in a prime location and superbly equipped."
You wouldnt want for anything else. Only criticism is the mattress on the 1st floor room is past its best and needs changing (Springs have gone in the middle). Other than that, fantastic place to stay and look forward to booking in the future.

"Absolutely amazing property and fantastic location for easy access into Barrow and the lakes."
Only down side for me personally was the king-size bed upstairs, the mattress wasn't comfortable and seemed to have lost its bounce back and firmness. Otherwise fantastic property and would recommend to others and return.

"Whitestones was a lovely base for our few days away."
Only disappointing thing was the gate. We traveled with three cocker spaniels and within an hour of us arriving two had got through the gap at the side of gate whilst we were unpacking cars. Dread to think what could have happend if we hadn’t seen them as near main road. I read this quite a lot in the guest book in the cottage. Please owners do something about this before there is an accident or a dog goes missing. We picked this place as said secure garden area. I cannot fault the cottage though it was fab.

"Such a lovely stay at White Stones, perfect base for us to explore."
The house was spacious and cosy for us and our dogs. Only thing we would suggest is more knives in the drawer. If you book to stay you won’t regret it, it’s a great place.
-
"Beautiful home from home."
Clean and well maintained. Everything you could wish for in the house. For a quiet relaxing holiday then this is definitely the place. But for those days you want to explore area that’s not too far away either .

"This cottage is perfect in everyway for your holiday needs."
They have thought of everything, little touches were very welcome. We especially loved the bath and shower. But our only concern was the entrance gate, you allow dogs which is great but something needs to be done to the gate. Small dogs will and do get out easily, all that is needed a strip of wood along the bottom to close the gap, and either a few strips in between the gaps or a piece of chicken wire across the whole gate would secure it. Also maybe a strip of wood along the post where the hinges are as our dogs slipped through there a couple of times as the gap is big. All in all, a great place to stay. Across the road from a beach and a lovely walkway, clean and excellent facilities would recommend to anyone, just keep on eye on your dogs when outside.

"Lovely cottage, bungalow."
Well equipped just needs couple fans in bedrooms and couple sharper kitchen knives for food prep.
-
"The property had everything you needed, the only drawback is the lack of a toilet upstairs."
We didn't use the upstairs bedroom for that reason. Other than that I can happily recommend staying here.
-
"Gorgeous weather."
Beautiful property. We had such a chilled and relaxed holiday, so chilled that we didn’t want to come home. Will definately be booking again.
-
"Extremely clean and well maintained, Felt at home straight away."
Dogs settled quickly and loved their time on the beaches which were always quiet. Booked for one of the owners other cottages next year Highly recommended

"It would be nice to have a hook on the bathroom door to hang your robe."

"My partner and I stayed in white stones at the beginning of May with our two dogs, A Flat Coated Retriever and a Belgian Malinois."
It was a perfect little getaway and base to explore the beach, the surrounding routes round the sheep fields and a short drive to places like Barrow-In-Furness and walks around Windermere. The bath after a long day of walking on a sunny afternoon was absolutely dreamy. The shower was a perfect place to wash the dogs sandy paws whilst they dried off sunbathing on the patio. The heating was easy to use and we were cozy throughout but the first two nights we were boiling in the attic room as we didn’t realise you could safely open the skylights. They were much too heavy for me so I was persuaded that they didn’t open until my partner finally tried in the end and it kept the room at a perfect temp in the evening. One thing I would say is that the fence at the end of the garden wasn’t very tall so any dog that is capable of jumping 3ft or so could easily scale it and escape through the neighbours courtyard in to to the road as the wind tend to keep their gate open. The gate in the garden also has a gap at the bottom that a small-medium dog could slip under and the gap between the fence and the gate where the hinges connect them could easily be slipped through by a small-medium dog or large slim dog. We also thought we’d see the sea more often but the waves were miles out by mid morning and didn’t return till the evening so I’d recommend checking tide times before going if that’s important to you. Other than that the place was lovely, we can’t speak on the two downstairs bedrooms as those were kept closed and weren’t used but they were clean and tidy from what we saw. We’d recommend popping down the road to The Milk Hut that’s a 4 minute walk away to get some fresh milk or milkshakes. That was our highlight!
-
"Good stay apart from door lock not working in downstairs double bedroom."
Feel it would be a difficult stay for 6 as only one toilet downstairs.
-
"Sliding patio door lock not working."
We had to use a piece of wood to secure the door We did not feel safe in bed knowing the door was not locked.
-
"A few maintenance issues (loose toilet seat being one of them) but other than that it’s a lovely property, super comfy beds & literally right across the road from the beach which was great for dog walking."
-
"We only used the downstairs rooms as it was too far to loo from the beautiful upstairs bedroom, also I have miniature dachunds, and although the whole garden was very well fenced in, they could escape under the gate, hence they stayed on lead."
A loo or en-suite upstairs would of been fabulous, and something on the gate for small pets not to escape would be nice, apart from that everything was nice, comfy and really pleasant 100% , thank you

"White stones is a beautiful modern cottage in a tranquil spot by the sea ."
It was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. It is warm and comfy and immaculately presented with a modern homely feel . The shower is amazing but the bath with the view is absolutely stunning and perfect for relaxation after a day of walking . The surrounding area is lovely to explore and our dogs loved the freedom on the beaches . There is lots to see and explore and this is the perfect place to relax and unwind .

"Not enough crockery or cutlery for 6 people,no small table, no hooks in shower room or bedrooms, toilet seat loose and unstable."
Wine cooler not operating, shelf missing in fridge. patio door blinds missing strips. not for self catering nearest shop Berwick. But we had a good holiday. Berwick run down, Elvaston is a lovely town we spent a long time there.

Some comments, mainly maintenance issues: 1) The wine cooler wasn’t working 2) Slow drainage from shower drain pan 3) Possible washing machine leak from bottom of machine Overall, we enjoyed our stay - very peaceful and a great location Suggest including some games, ie pack of cards, board games, etc

So relaxing and quiet area, literally 5min walk to the beach. Everything you need for a home from home get away x will be booking again
-
"The only downside was a small freezer as we prefer to be self catering."
Everything else was perfect, clean well equipped good garden and parking area ideal for us an our dog.
-
"We absolutely loved our stay at this fabulous cottage."
Perfect location, great views, very peaceful. We will definitely be going back!
-
"Lovely property."
So peaceful. It was just what we needed and would definitely come back. The dogs loved it. Thank you.
-
"We really like the surrounding area."
House was OK. Would have liked a little more extras especially for cooking, all our previous stays did. Saves going shopping for items that you may use lightly when cooking, seasonings etc..Usually we get a washing up tablet per day for pots and pans etc. Or, is it just us that cooks at home and everybody else goes out for dinner. We went home early as one evening we came back to the stay to find ants hundred of them crawling all over the worktop and floor. Squished most of them and cleaned up but they were still coming out of the woodwork so to speak. Ideal place for touring the south lakes. Good weather too. Very good stay if you have pets. The milk hut was pretty handy..
