  • "Lovely cottage and setting and on arrival the cottage seemed nice, cosy and clean."

However their were a few things needed a bit of extra cleaning. The extractor fan in the bathroom was full of dust and the bottom of the shower seal was mouldy (I have photos). The bed mattress was very roll together, the skirtings needed a clean. On the plus side it was lovely and warm. The kitchen was well equipped and the sitting room lovely and cosy. The setting was beautiful. I would have liked more information on the cottage. When was it built, what did it used to be, who painted and why the mural. Also possibly lights at the end of the lane to the main road. We drove past it twice in the dark. Just a few little tweaks and it would have got the extra smiley face.

  • "There are no towels or bedding offered with this listing but this was a very minor thing."

The cottage itself is in lovely countryside and a good base for getting to all parts of the county reasonably. The kitchen was large and well appointed and the lounge area was lovely - bright and welcoming. It took a little getting used to the space heaters but there are turn on instant heaters too in the main rooms. Overall, a lovely stay.

  • "The cottage is in a beautiful part of the country and is well placed for days out, including the Scottish border."

As others have mentioned, the cottage could do with refurbishment in the kitchen and bathroom, and upgrading the night storage heaters. Functional, clean but tired. With a little TLC this cottage could go from good enough to amazing. It is remote which means it is very quiet and peaceful and the area has incredible dark skies for stargazers.

  • "A wonderfully delightful cottage, looks small from the outside but very spacious inside tucked out the way in the area my family grew up in and just a few hundred yards from the best river on earth."

It has a couple of maps on the wall for those not familiar with the area so you can plan routes. Everything worked but the bathroom may need a revamp soon but that is the only minor thing I could pick up on if being fussy. The beds are comfy and rooms a decent size. I loved the withy butt full of logs in the porch way ( I made hundreds of these in my time as a basket maker). We we're extremely happy with the cottage. It gets a full 10/10 from us and we look forward to a future holiday here. As they say locally. it's geet canny like. Many thanks.

  • "Nice comfortable property in pleasant surroundings."

Basic but adequate. All as shown in write up by sykes. Take care with the microwave, it's at high level but not front facing, awkward to get hot food out my wife burnt her hand taking a dish out. On the whole would go again.

  • "It is a lovely cottage with everything you need for a wonderful holiday."

There is peace an quiet and great views. The directions to get there are clear. At first could’n find the WiFi but is is there in the kitchenwindowsill. Our only remark is that every thing is a bit out- dated. The bathroom and kitchen are very clean but may be in need of some maintenance and upgrading. The bed are to soft for my taste and back. Anyway, a great stay at the Honeysuckle Cottage

  • "We were very happy with the cottage."

Its cleanliness and functional attractive furnishings. The internet is hardly worth having its so slow but its pathetic for previous users to complain about it. Who wants to use the internet on a weeks quiet holiday? In any case there was very good 4G coverage to use mobile data for several days and I was able to do some work.

  • "Nice cottage in a lovely location, spacious, quiet and comfortable."

Only quibble was the broadband speed (tortoise-like)

  • "A fabulous little cottage."

It would have been good to have towels and bedclothes provided, given the cost of staying. We also had to tighten the loose shower head and a saucepan handle which was dangerously loose. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay, thank you.

  • "A pretty and comfortable cottage set in lovely, peaceful surroundings."

There are great walks along the River Tyne from Wark, and many others a short drive away. Visits to Cragside and Wallington were excellent, and the Farne Islands were brilliant.

Spotlessly clean, comfortable, warm and very well equipped. Location is on a country track by a working farm - an idyllic spot a few hundred yards from a picturesque spot on the North Tyne River. So quiet and peaceful - ideal for a relaxing stay.
