  • "Had a wonderful stay at Meadowside last week - first class accommodation with little to want for."

Whilst positioned next to a working farm, there was no noise (nor mud, despite the heavy rain at times) and waking up to the view across the fields with the cattle grazing was delightful. The owners were on hand if we had any issues and they provided a lovely welcome pack for our arrival. The Hand and Dagger pub which is about a mile away does really good food. There is plenty to do in the locality eg trips to the coast (about 20 mins away), Trough of Bowland / Pendle (about 30 mins) and even the Lakes. We certainly will be coming back.

  • "The cottage was beautiful!"

Clean and well maintained. The beds and sofas were comfortable and the showers were amazing! The rural location was just what we wanted. It was private and quiet and felt like a lovely retreat. The information provided prior to the visit on what to expect and places to eat etc was valuable for knowing where we would be welcome with our dog. The owner checked in to see how things were and explain where we could go with our dog which was thoughtful. Overall we loved our stay and would highly recommend staying here.

Having stayed in holiday Cottages for over 20 years this was definitely the best by a mile, the things like the welcome basket packed with goodies the facilities in the cottage were really great, immaculately clean and the surroundings were beautiful. We came for my Sons 21st birthday and had an amazing week we were not bothered by the hosts at all but knew they were on hand if we had any problems and will definitely want to return. I will be recommending this place to all of my family and friends simply beautiful

  • "We had a wonderful stay at Meadowside Barn."

The accommodation is perfect-beautifully decorated and good quality bedding/towels and furniture. The kitchen is equipped with all the things you would ever need. Light streams in through the windows in the barn, filling the whole house with brightness. The farm, while very close is not an issue-the chickens pop in to the garden regularly which is brilliant! The owner was available via telephone and in person, should there be any issues-which there weren’t. Ideally placed to use as a base for the west coast and other towns and villages nearby. We would definitely recommend and return in the future.

  • "The Barn has been converted to a very high standard;  it was immaculate and very spacious."

Easy to access with car parking space. WIFI worked well. Host very friendly who met us just after arrival to ensure everything was OK.  Well equipped kitchen but the addition of large dinner plates would be good + a teapot.  Also a towel rail in the en- suite plus wall mirrors in bedrooms. Great location. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, thank you.

The rooms are all big and the kitchen is fabulous - equipped with everything you could possibly need. A beautiful cottage - the photos just don't do it justice. The fresh flowers and welcome basket were an added touch that we appreciated and helped make us feel at home! Thank you so much!

Photo's don't do this place justice. It's very homely and very well equipped. Everything was spotlessly clean and there were many extras including the welcome pack, toiletries and fresh flowers. The owner was very helpful and went above and beyond with a few requests we had for having guests for dinner. Many thanks for a lovely break.

It was immaculate, spacious and finished to a very high standard. It was much nicer than the photos indicated. Lots of Lovely little touches that made us feel pampered - from the welcome hamper basket including Gs & Ts to large fluffy towels. The lounge sat six comfortably and had a log burner should you need it. The underfloor heating was extremely warm. The kitchen dinner had everything you need, washer, drier, dishwasher etc. All the bedrooms were large with comfortable beds. The bathrooms were of high specification. The barn felt really peaceful. The friendly owner met us on arrival and offered show the farm had we wanted that. We have rented quite a few Sykes Cottages and have to say that this was the best yet. We will return.

  • "A positive experience."

Well maintained property. Easy to access with car parking space. WIFI worked well. Hosts very friendly and it was great to be able to visit the animals on the farm. No major problems/issues. A couple of suggestions - a towel rail in the ensuite bathroom would be helpful. Curtains over the patio door would make it feel more cosy on dark evenings. Well equipped kitchen but the addition of some more larger dinner plates would be useful (only one found in cupboard) and a teapot.

Everything we needed was there. Really quiet location, we had rhe pleasure of staying right next to the cow shed and would see horses wandering past our window on the field just across the way. No noise or farmyard smells though so don't worry! It was perfect! Would go back again and again and highly recommend to everyone. Could not fault it at all.
