"The door was completely off the sink cupboard, we took photos."
There should been some information left : password for the internet. We had none all week. Password to get the heating on, it was quite cold at the beginning of the week. Password how to get the different channels on the television. Apart from that it was a beautiful lodge.
Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry you encountered some issues during your stay. We are surprised you struggled to work the heating and the TV as neither are password protected, the password for the WIFI is in the welcome folder. That being said, had you contacted us during your stay, we would have sent our maintenance team to assist you. We do apologise for the under sink kitchen cupboard being broken, the owner has arranged for this to be fixed. We do hope to welcome you again The owner relations team - Lakelovers Property Owner

"Our family loved the lodge, it was clean, spacious and comfortable."
Great open plan living, well stocked kitchen with all the kitchen utensils that you could possibly need when you’re away from home and a smart tv for those evenings when you want to relax. Extra little touches such as a welcome pack with info about lodge, local walks and restaurants; board games for the kids and reading books for rainy days: and disposable slippers in the lobby way. The site where the lodge is located is really quiet, with only around 11 lodges in total, only the sound of the stream which runs alongside the property. Leafy nook lodge was a great base for our family, providing an home from home feel and we’d definitely recommend.
Thank you for your lovely feedback. We were pleased to hear that you would recommend Leafy Nook and that you found the welcome pack useful. Property Owner

"We had a great stay and the facilities were excellent."
The cottage had everything we needed. The only thing was dust. The blinds and shelves were very dusty and the bottom of the blinds had lots of bugs in them which could have been easily hoovered out. The only disappointment really was that the surrounding trees were so dense there was no sun on the patio but it was small price to pay for a lovely lodge.
Thank you for your response, we are pleased to hear that you had a great stay. We have spoken to Lakelovers with regard to the cleaning issues you noted and we have been assured that this area will be thoroughly cleaned and closely monitored going forward. Property Owner

"Leafy Nook is in a beautiful and quiet location with a view from the decking over Esthwaite Lake."
A stunning place to sit each morning with a coffee and keep a watch out for the nesting Ospreys, which we saw a lot of. The lodge itself is spacious, comfortable and very well equipped. We cooked quite a lot during our stay and the kitchen contained everything we needed. There are lovely walks locally and it's also a great base from which to explore the National Park. The owners could not have been more helpful and we thoroughly recommend a visit.
Thank you for your lovely comments. It's great to hear that you had a successful visit and saw the Ospreys. I have to say that, although we're obviously biased, the view from the deck never gets old. Hopefully you will choose Leafy Nook for a return visit in the future. Property Owner

"Just returned from a lovely weekend at Leafy Nook which is situated in an ideal location within walking distance of Hawkshead but away from immediate hustle and bustle."
The cottage itself is immaculately maintained and comfortably furnished with every amenity you could need. After being there when over a foot of snow fell I can definitely confirm it is warm and cosy whatever the weather. As returning visitors I would have no hesitation in recommending Leafy Nook for anyone’s holiday whatever your age
Thank you for your feedback. It’s great to hear that your return visit was good despite the snowfall and that Leafy Nook continued to meet your holiday needs. We look forward to seeing you at Leafy Nook again. Property Owner

The Lodge’s award-winning design has been built to timber-framed housing standards in order to last a lifetime, and there is also a meandering stream that runs alongside the Lodge, which feeds Esthwaite Lake.
Park up beside the lodge before taking the few steps up onto your own private decking, a lovely spot to while away the hours with your loved ones whilst dining alfresco, while inside you can find even more social spots to make the most of.
The open-plan living space boasts a fantastic sociable aspect; take a seat at the breakfast bar to keep the chef of the group company as they get acquainted with the good range of appliances in the contemporary-styled kitchen, or sit around the dining table to enjoy a home-made meal or even a board game.
Light up the rustic woodburning stove in the winter months and sink into the sofa to embark on a movie marathon, before choosing one of three well-presented bedrooms to rest your head.
The master bedroom is home to a double bed with its very own sparkling en-suite shower room, while the other double bedroom and twin are served by the family bathroom, each spot offering a simple yet stylish interior to unwind in!
The park on which the lodge is situated rests in an elevated position offering far-reaching views over the lake, making a scenic spot at any time of the year, while the charming local village of Hawkshead boasts even more scenic wonder as well as rich history; take a stroll into the town to discover a good range of quaint inns, tea shops, guest houses and shops where you can spend a relaxing Sunday afternoon.
Once home to both William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter; be sure to visit the attractions of the Old Grammar School where the poet once attended, as well as the Beatrix Potter Gallery, home to an exhibition of original illustrations of the children's writer, while the National Trust owned Hill Top is just a short drive away too.
Explore the wider area of the Lake District National Park, with the woodland of Grizedale Forest being in easy reach.
Tackle the remarkable mountain peaks of The Old Man of Coniston or Claife Heights or spend a day along the large lake of Windermere, with ample opportunities for watersports as well as golfing and plenty of waterside eateries.
In the perfect position for an idyllic escape to the Lake District, choose Leafy Nook as your homely base to return to after each day of adventure.

About the location
HAWKSHEAD
Ambleside 5.1 miles; Kendal 17.4 miles.
The picturesque village of Hawkshead still retains the charm and character that so endeared it to its most famous residents - William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter. Visitors can wander the wealth of tiny alleyways, thoroughfares, archways and courtyards between the whitewashed 17th century houses. There are many pleasant inns, teashops, guest houses and gift shops in the village, as well as the Beatrix Potter Gallery, which houses an annually changing exhibition of the famous author’s illustrations and stories. The other famous Hawkshead enthusiast, William Wordsworth, attended the Old Grammar School in 1779-87, which still stands today, and you can visit the building where the Lakeland poet developed his love of the form, and even see the desk into which he scratched his name as a small boy! Newby Bridge is ten miles away and offers attractions such as the Aquarium of the Lakes and Windermere Lake Cruises, sailing daily between Ambleside, Bowness and Lakeside. With stunning scenery and numerous attractions within easy touring distance, Hawkshead is in an ideal location at any time of the year.
