The property

Fir Trees is a stunning, Victorian detached house situated on Lake Road, halfway between Windermere and Bowness-on-Windermere, so the shops, taverns and restaurants of both districts are only 9 mins walk either way.

Its beautiful and spacious entrance hall (original Minton tiles), staircase and landing give the house a truly grand feeling.

In fact there are many of the original fixtures and fittings throughout, still in excellent condition for the period.

This pet-friendly property boasts an enclosed garden, ground-floor living, and nine en-suite bedrooms with Smart TVs and fridges in each – with private driveway parking for 10 cars.

The house will soon be equipped with 2 EV chargers, Fir Trees is well-suited to a large family or group of friends and two polite pets on a rural retreat in Windermere.

Use this base to explore the Lake District National Park.

Whip up a delicious dinner in the kitchen sitting area with help from a gas oven and hob, microwave, and fridge/freezer, then head to the dining room to dig into your culinary creation with space and seating for the whole group with the added comfort of an open fire.

The dishwashers volunteer for clean-up duty, so you’re free to enjoy the last few rays of sun in the enclosed garden as your pup plays in the grass.

Settle into the sitting room with an evening film on the Smart TV, before washing off the day in one of nine en-suites and welcoming sleep in a twin, double, king-size, or super-king-size bed.

Soak up your local surroundings with a scenic stroll along England’s largest lake; Lake Windermere, before exploring the Windermere Jetty Museum, stepping into fond, childhood memories at The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction, and grabbing some pub grub at the Brookside Inn – just a stone’s throw from your property!

Venture a little further afield to Ambleside for The Bridge House, Ambleside Roman Fort, and Stock Ghyll Force.

Take that short drive to Kendal to treat the history buff to Kendal Castle and Kendal Museum, before admiring the beautiful pieces in Abbot Hall.

Scenic and historic adventures are just steps away when you book a stay at Fir Trees.
