  • "We had a great stay."

Really good location and amazing views from the property. Issues with WiFi but not the owners fault who tried very hard to resolve the issue. We managed to break the key in the lock but luckily we had the owners number who came around with replacement keys straight away. We could not get hold of Sykes on their emergency number. One minor issue - my daughter stayed in the smaller double room and suggests the bed needs a topper as the bed was uncomfortable due to ridges in the matress. The property was warm and comfortable and we would return.

  • "Poor maintenance of the property which looks very tired and grubby."

Carpets were dirty and didn't appear to have been hoovered when we arrived, so we cleaned them ourselves. There were a lot of flies in the house - both dead and alive. The kitchen was poorly stocked in terms of equipment and glasses, just some quick wins like providing pint glasses, a decent bottle opener, more than 1 (small) chopping board, some decent cutlery, more than a small drop of washing up liquid, etc. Drains were running very slow and the shower in the 2nd double had hot and cold pipes connected the wrong way around so cold was scalding and hot was freezing. Obviously very dangerous! The draws in the dining room area were full of unopened letters and a pot of paint! The property just needs some TLC, some thought to the needs of guests, a deep clean and throw away the items that don't work anymore (like the cake tin without a base!)

  • "Lovely property, comfortable stay (apart from maybe a couple of sticky out springs in the bed!"

). We had a 48 hour power cut, no fault to the owner, but the management company had terrible communication and never got back to us.

  • "Really lovely house lots of room for 4 adults, a child and a dog."

Views are brilliant and walks straight from the door. Friendly and helpful locals and never had any problems with anything at the property. I read reviews of no oven gloves so I took my own, everything else you might need was provided. Lovey stay even if the weather was not lovely.!

  • "Me and my husband liked this property a lot and enjoyed our stay, but there are a few things lacking that would really improve it."

The lack of a welcome/guest book is a bit irritating, particularly getting into cooler months and trying to figure out the heating system. There were no oven gloves, and all the plugs had been removed from the sofas meaning the footrests couldn’t be extended. The door handle to the main bedroom is very loose and about to come out, and the showers are all pretty feeble. Not within the owner’s control, but the dogs across the road bark a lot (including at random times in the night), which is a pain in such an otherwise quiet location. None of this would put us off staying again (and this was our second visit) - it is a nice size overall and has wonderful views - but it feels like the property needs a little bit of TLC.

  • "Property needs a good clean: very dusty and cobwebs."

No wood provided which was disappointing as we particularly chose property with a multi fuel stove. It would have been nice to open blinds in bedroom to see the views but they were broken. No sweeping brush or vacuum to clean up through the week which was irritating. No chance of an afternoon nap for toddler and grandparents as there was building work going on in the downstairs property. Tumble drier didn't work and nowhere to hang out wet washing. Dishwasher leaked but was fixed within an hour. This property could be excellent with a little more attention to detail as the village is lovely peaceful and beautiful.

  • "Despite raising issues nothing was done, I’ve had to chase twice with no response as yet still."

Totally shocking customer service. House wasn’t clean, things didn’t work or were broken and no action was taken. The only thing that stopped was the work men doing up the property underneath from 8am every day. Really disappointed so far and will no doubt have to keep chasing to get any kind of proper response. Avoid this company at all costs.

I know we are paying for the fantastic views from the property but a Welcome Pack would have been nice.
