  • "What a lovely little place!"

Tucked away in a beautiful corner of the countryside in a great area - it made it easy for us to visit friends nearby and explore The Lakes. I have seen comments regarding the lane to the property, however, we didn’t have any issues with this and found the cottage very easy to get to. The property itself was very clean and very well maintained upon entry. The beds are incredibly comfortable, and although the kitchen may be small, you do not want for anything - it is exceptionally well stocked and had everything we required. If I had to mention anything, I would suggest that the television in the living room would be drawn a little lower on the wall - it is slightly too high. However, this did not bother our stay at all. Thank you for the thoughtful milk and biscuits!

Great self catering facilities, plenty of everything in the kitchen to cook with (just set aside a few extra minutes to work out the oven controls!) Very comfy beds and sofas, a great find, lovingly restored from an old farming barn.

  • "Rooms in the property are very small."

It is a rather cramped space for 6 people. There were no basic cooking ingredients whatsoever. Some oil would have been useful.

Thank you for your comments. I’m sorry that the room size did not meet your expectations for the cottage, we have received minimal feedback of this nature. Whilst we stock basic cleaning equipment, we consider it inappropriate to provide open foodstuffs due to their perishable nature; we could not deliver hygiene and safety assurance to our guests of such ingredients left in the property. Greystones is a self catering cottage however due to our proximity we do of course endeavour to help in emergencies, our contact details are available within. Many thanks Property Owner

we were six adults with an infant. the property was tidy and clean. I believe a few things should be upgraded, like the sofa and kitchen equipment. there ware only a very tiny saucepan for cooking which was not enough for 6 people. need a new toaster. should have been enough toilet paper and bin liner. thanks

Thank you for your comments. As you can see from previous feedback, we pride ourselves on making our guests stay a comfortable and high quality one. I wish therefore that you made contact with us during your stay (our details are available within the property) as we could have resolved many of these issues immediately. I can assure you that there are more saucepans and utensils within the labelled lower drawer of the cooker. We also provide some toilet rolls, bin liners and basic cleaning equipment. I will flag however , that this is a self catering cottage, but again we could have provided more in an emergency. Kind regards Property Owner

Access is a little tight through single track country lane; there could be on-coming tractors. But the ones we came across very kindly reversed up a fair bit & made room for us to pass by. Quite an isolated location in farmland so limited number of eating places but Milnthorpe town is just 10 mins drive away. Great cottage for those looking for peace, quiet & nature surrounds.

It is a fantastic place to stay, the owners can't do enough for you. It was my wife's birthday when we were staying at Greystones and they helped me to ensure that she had a wonderful time...sourcing cake, flowers, and a bottle of Prosecco locally to surprise her on the day. We stayed there with my in-laws who are also of the opinion that the cottage had the "wow factor" and had a wonderful time with us at Greystones. The cottage is part of a barn conversion, which has been done to a very high standard with accommodation over 3 floors. The cottage was very clean and well kitted out for self catering - with the most being made of the relatively small spaces. About the location

MILNTHORPE

Arnside 3 miles; Silverdale 6 miles; Kendal 7 miles.

Milnthorpe, once an important medieval market town, is located in the South Lakes between Kendal and Carnforth, just a few miles from the seaside village of Arnside. Reminders of the town's history can still be found today amongst the narrow lanes and historic buildings, which speak of a time when a coach and four was more common than a four-wheel drive. Set in lovely rolling countryside, the area has much to offer, with the Lakeland Wildlife Oasis offering a tropical hall and butterfly house. Dallam Tower and Levens Hall (historic and beautiful stately homes with their deer parks, topiary and ornamental gardens) provide a great day out for visitors. Leighton Hall, Sizergh Castle, the Great Lakes Aquarium, Windermere and Grizedale Forest are also all within easy reach and well worth a visit. From stunning limestone pavements and wonderful woodland walks to beaches and scenic coastal paths, there really is something for everyone.
