  • "On the whole this was a lovely house and we had a great weekend."

The views are spectacular and it was lovely to feel like we were in a secluded location. The owner sent multiple messages with “rules” for whilst we were staying at the house - requesting full names and ages, telling us there were to be no visitors or parties, must be left clean etc. We have no issue with this we’d booked a lovely house and we’re more than willing to look after it and respect it. We do this type of break every year. However, we finally arrived after following the directions that had been sent to us - which were incorrect, to a bin full of used sanitary items, a cooker with old chips inside the door and greasy baking trays. So not quite what we expected from the messages we had received. In addition, the house was freezing! It was below freezing outside but the rooms inside were only about 15 degrees at the most. Our kids sat covered in blankets and we spent most of the weekend in the kitchen as it was the only room we could get warm. We contacted the owner and were told to turn the heat down elsewhere to get the lounge warm - it was already cold everywhere but we tried this and just ended up with the only warm room being cold too. The lack of any other form of heating meant it just wasn’t comfortable and cosy. In all, we had a great weekend, but for what we paid I’m not sure if we would return in the future.

  • "Very untidy and dirty house, dead bird under bed."

No hot water. Heating was very hit and miss.

  • "Beautiful modern house, finished to a high standard."

Has everything you need for a relaxing break. Only thing that could make this house even better is a shelter over the hot tub (due to the lovely British weather) and maybe some lighting around the hot tub as it's pitch black at night. Had an amazing stay and would love to go back.

  • "The house was absolutely gorgeous and we had such an amazing time."

The owners took time to message me and explain properly about the house and how to use things. Beautiful surroundings and the hot tub was great. Nice touches with the tea, coffee and milk left by owner for us. The only slight problem was the shower in the upstairs main bathroom didn’t drain well so had to shower quick so it didn’t over flow. Also the shower in the room with the yellow bed leaked out the glass shower screen at the bottom as the floor filled up quickly as well. Two other en suites worked fine. Other then that everything was great and would definitely recommend to others and stay again myself. Thank you x

  • "Can't thank owners enough after accepting us shoet notice, the day of our stay, due to issues with our previous property!"

House is amazing and so modern, all of the bedrooms and bathrooms are lovely. Kitchen space is perfect. Massive hot tub which is great when heated but loses temperature quickly compared to other ones we've used. Dressing gowns provided were a lovely touch. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others. Close to shops and places to eat/drink and also supermarkets

Absolutely amazing place to stay, the house was unreal and we had a great time, the only thing that let it down and why I was unable to give 5 stars was the issue with the hot tub which only meant we could use it once and we felt disappointed we didn’t receive a small refund due to the hot tub not being available, however it was a brilliant house with brilliant views and it’s a shame I was unable to give it 5 stars

Watching the sunset from the balcony or the hot tub is something we will sure miss! Beautiful.

  • "Immaculate property, absolutely stunning."

Towels and robes are provided, along with BBQ coal and tea towels. The kitchen is fully equipped and you get a welcome basket of tea and coffee etc. The lighter for the BBQ doesn’t work as we found when we went to light but that was the only minor inconvenience we found. Would definitely stay again and recommend!

  • "Great house for celebrations lovely views and hot tub, fabulous bedrooms and bathrooms."

Lounge needs extra seating not enough for 8 people. Large high tech kitchen but lacking in crockery and serving dishes (only 8 no spare plates, bowls or cups ) more real glasses (lots of plastic ones ) would have loved a cafeteria ! Generous welcome pack. Small things make a big difference but overall a great time had by all

About the location

LANGHO, LANCASHIRE

Whalley 3.4 miles; Clitheroe 6.7 miles miles; Longridge 8.6 miles

Langho is a small rural village in the Ribble Valley of Lancashire. The village is split into two halves of the old and new, new Langho developed when the construction of the railway took place in the mid-19th century, turning it into a minor but still thriving commercial centre. The new church of St Leonard was built in 1879 because that at Old Langho was considered to be too far away, however even the new church is now rather isolated since the A59 roundabout was built. The ancient part of the village is considered a real gem, steeped in history for visitors to explore, the old church of St Leonard was built from masonry taken from Whalley Abbey, which was demolished in 1537 on the orders of Henry VIII. There are pubs and eateries among a few small shops and a school in the village. The wider area however, boasts many points of interest to be discovered such as, Longridge Fell which lies at the southern end of the Forest of Bowland AONB, and whose summit rests above wild forestry, benefitting some wonderful vistas to the north and west, in particular towards Fair Snape Fell and the Trough of Bowland. Nearby Whalley provides excellent walking at Spring Wood and boasts a fabulous golf club, and the Dean Clough Resevoir offers more walking routes as well as cycling and mountain biking, with some fantastic landscapes to behold. Clitheroe is a great place to visit with plenty of shops and eateries to enjoy as well as taking a visit to Clitheroe Castle. Turton Tower is a distinctive English country home located in the small village of Turton, just 15 miles away, on the edge of the West Pennine Moors, portraying evidence of the Tudor and early Stuart periods. This wonderful area of the North West has much on offer, whether you feel like a leisurely stroll, a lively night out or delving deep in history, it has it all, engulfing a delightful village in which to base your holiday break.
