  • "Nice cottage just as advertised very quiet just right"

  • "For us as older people we found the property a challenge the main bed was comfortable but very low The onsuite was cramped and needed a good clean the silicon in the shower was black mouldy and the chest of drawers smelt feisty with handles missing and the carpet was threadbare in the corners of the room also the step down into the bed room the edging was loose."

The living room needed some new furniture the sofa and chairs needed a good clean and were very low the french doors were very difficult to lock and unlock the garden needed maintenance and was a tripping hazard. The second bed room was only useful for children as I had booked for 4 adults our friends went elsewhere last but not least the washing machine was not usable as the area it was in was dirty.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay in Curlew Cottage."

The owners made us very welcome. The location is excellent with countryside as far as the eye can see but still only a short drive to the local towns, amenities and attractions.. The cottage itself is comfortable, warm and well equipped. The WiFi was also excellent. Overall a really nice farmhouse style cottage. All our family said they would stay in this property again if we were ever in the area. (We would also recommend lunch in the nearby Langley Castle).

  • "I had a thoroughly enjoyable and comfortable week in Curlew cottage."

The owners were pleasant and welcoming but unobtrusive and were helpful with any query. The cottage is situated on a small farm with horses and dogs - (not noisy!) and the location in wonderful countryside makes for a very peaceful, relaxing holiday. The cottage is well equipped and really has everything necessary for a stay. It is ideally situated for visits to the many places and features of local interest in Northumberland and beyond. In conclusion,I would definitely return for a holiday in the future.

  • "Needs better directions , a sign would be welcoming , the postcode gives Langley."

Property smelt of dogs . Had to buy Fabreze. Double mattress too soft had bad backs . No extra bedding for cold nights , had to use the single duvets. Immediate surroundings looked like a tip ,with a great bucket of used booze bottles next to the cottage. Yard needs a good tidy . Someone entered the property when we were out , as there was s wet footprint left ! Not impressed by that . The patio doors were broken and we couldn’t get out except by the front door . The outer front door was sticking badly . Plenty grime around the windows and a cobweb on the overhead bed light . Needs a good deep clean and airing . Everything in there looked tired and drab which is why we left a day early . Love the area which we have visited many times , but not this dump.

  • "We enjoyed our stay in Curlew Cottage."

It's set in lovely countryside all around, and is clean and comfortable, with everything needed for a good holiday. Unfortunately the french door had a problem, and couldn't be used, however the owner came round immediately and fixed it temporarily. The only thing we thought was missing was a visitor's book.

  • "Travelling directions were good."

Owner introduced himself upon arrival . Shower over bath in second bedroom had a damaged hose and as the bath was very narrow and no anti-slip mat it wasn't possible for us to safely use. Hose was replaced mid week. Outhouse was dirty, freezer didn't work and washing machine looked dirty as well. Kitchenware was well stocked (no scissors?). Patio door hinges buckled with subsequent gap at top. Understand that these are new owners but general maintenance needs addressing and listing needs amended to reflect lack of some items. (DVD player, radio ) and freezer / washing machine replaced. Overall we enjoyed our stay and hopefully the new owners can get the property back up to a good standard.

However the owners let us use theirs.

Curlew Cottage is very quiet and peaceful and very comfortable and is in beautiful countryside. The welcome pack (including) a bottle of Prosecco was very much appreciated and the owners are friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Dear Shirley, thank you for your valuable feedback. I am so glad you and your dog enjoyed your stay and that she was settled. Kindest regards, Helen Property Owner
