  • "Wonderful stay at the Gatehouse particularly as the Hall decorated with Dickensian themed rooms."

It was a nice surprise to get a free voucher to visit the event during my stay. The accommodation was excellent particularly as it was extremely well heated. The volunteer staff were wonderful as so friendly. Booked again for next year as soon as I came home.

  • "We had a lovely short break."

It was clean, warm and different. The supply of tea, coffee, milk & biscuits was very welcome. It was really good that there was a TV in the bedroom and that we could make hot drinks in there too. The kitchen hot tap had to be run very slowly though, to get just warm water. It didn't get hot; so it would be better to have a small washing up bowl in the sink, as the metal sink cooled the lukewarm water very quickly. The back door wouldn't unlock either. We soon got used to going from one gatehouse to the other but we had to be careful crossing the drive. There is a lot of traffic going in & out of the grounds during the day and most of it goes too fast through the gates. We were surprised there were no 'Slow' signs outside or some means of warning drivers to take care, as people might be crossing the drive. Lytham Hall is beautiful and its history very interesting. It was great having complimentary tickets to look round it.

  • "It is an excellent quirky place to stay lovely surroundings you just have to plan with it being in two parts and one bathroom."

The lock on the bedroom side is a bit stiff and can be a bit annoying. It would be better to have two keys both opening both sides so each person can have a key to lock and unlock each side.

The accommodation was excellent and the hall grounds are stunningly beautiful. There is plenty of places to visit in the area too. In fact, I have booked it again straight away.

  • "We enjoyed our stay at Lytham Gatehouses as we know Lytham Hall grounds and gardens very well and have visited on a number of occasions."

The Gate houses are quirky as expected and are situated either side of the drive up to Lytham Hall. There are signs asking vehicles to be aware of pedestrians crossing and we didn’t have any problems with this at all. The gatehouses were clean , tidy and well presented, although just a tiny bit smaller than we had expected. This was not a problem however. We enjoyed our complimentary tickets giving entry to the Hall itself as we hadn’t been inside previously and it was a real treat. We cannot praise the volunteers highly enough; they were very knowledgeable , helpful, and friendly and it was a highlight of our stay. We also enjoyed the surrounding areas of Lytham and St Anne’s which are always a joy to visit. We would love to give a five star rating to our review but there was one major drawback to our stay and that was the bed. The mattress was far too soft and lumpy and I’m sorry to report that we both had sleepless nights for the extent of our three day stay. We know that comfort is a very individual thing but I do feel that the mattress does require replacing with one of a more superior quality. It is such a shame because everything else was so nice, but this is the one thing that would prevent us returning for another stay. I’m hoping that this positive feed back will lead to the mattress being replaced and then we can consider returning. Thank you for all the other things you provided that were of a good standard.

  • "Excellent accommodation and excellent customer care."

The staff were excellent. Ideal location close to Lytham with access to lots of facilities. Furnishings in property were well accommodated in the separate gatehouses. The welcome pack was excellent. Lytham Hall was a great place to have time to spend and relax particularly the access to the beautiful gardens. The garden centre was interesting and the cafe was excellent particularly for the food. Very dog friendly both the accommodation and Lytham itself. One of my best holidays at a self catering property and already booked again. There was no issues with having separate gatehouses in fact it made it more special as it made you realise that you do not need large properties when it is just for you. The drive was busy but not an issue as the new signs to slow seem to have worked and the gates open and shut at approximately 5pm and 8.30 so have own access to the acres of woodland and parkland. The car parking is great and you can go out out after gates shut at night and leave car in designated parking just outside on drive near gatehouse. The key collection arrangements were good and communication from property owner and holiday company was excellent throughout

Thankyou very much for your feedback , and we are glad you enjoyed your stay with us. We hope to see you again in sunny Lytham! The Lytham Hall Team Property Owner

  • "Lovely property."

Very quirky, felt like we were staying in a mini stately home which was the attraction in the first place. Clean and well decorated, a lot of thought put into the furniture and contents. Really enjoyed looking around Lytham Hall and learning about the history. Loved the garden centre and came home with a selection of plants. The town itself was well worth spending time in and very easy to take the train to other areas. The only improvement could be to the cooking facilities which were challenging. Would highly recommend.

Thankyou very much for your feedback. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay at Lytham Hall, and we are always looking at improvements to be made for future guests. Hope we see you again! The Lytham Hall Team Property Owner

  • "Had a wonderful few days break at Lytham Hall Gate House."

Loved the boutique style interiors, mixing old with new. Everything was spotless, and high quality. Many varieties of tea and biscuits provided as well as coffee which was much appreciated. We loved exploring Lytham Hall with complementary passes provided by the hosts. However the most magical part of the holiday was being able to wander around the grounds on an evening when the gates were shut. We encountered hedgehogs, bats and a bird of prey to name but a few. Can't wait to go again.

Thankyou so much for your lovely feedback! We're glad you enjoyed your stay - it is magical to have the grounds to yourselves in the evenings Property Owner

  • "This was an interesting and unique property being in 2 buildings either side of the gate."

I had brought my dog but she had to be on the lead all the time. The gate is busy which was expected but the speed of some cars was worrying. Speed signs both directions would help. Also a fenced off seating area would have been more relaxing. Inside was well appointed and beautifully decorated. Outside a little disheveled. Overall a good visit and great position for walking to Lytham

Thankyou for your feedback - Lytham Hall is a busy site, but you'll be pleased to know we have new signs ordered and being put in place next week. I hope you and your dog enjoyed the privacy of our glorious grounds once the gates closed to the public! We are also looking at ways to enclose the outdoor seating area - being Grade 2 listed parkland provides its challenges! Hope to see you again! Property Owner

  • "A lovely, quirky property, only a short walk to the seafront and with the added bonus of out of hours access to the beautiful grounds of Lytham Hall."

So peaceful! The gatehouse is thoughtfully equipped, the information pack is comprehensive, and members of the Lytham Hall team I came into contact with were all uniformly friendly. A small word of warning about the speed of some of the vehicles that drove onto the site - if you have a dog, keep it under close supervision, and look both ways before crossing from one part of the gatehouse to the other. That said, I loved staying there and have booked to stay again.

Thankyou so much for your feedback - the grounds are magical when you can explore on your own! You'll be pleased to know that new signs are ordered to help slow traffic entering and leaving the site. Look forward to see you again! Property Owner

  • "The property was very clean and comfortable and quirky, having the bedroom and bathroom on the other side of the gate entrance, which meant leaving one side of the property to cross to the other to use the bathroom or retire to bed."

The house and grounds excellent, as was the garden centre and cafe. Staff we met were friendly. However the whole stay was spoilt by the speed at which vehicles drove through the entrance once the gates were opened in the morning, including staff, delivery vehicles and the public. I was told that speed bumps were installed but removed due to complaints about them being too harsh. However multiple low level speed bumps would resolve the issue at minimal cost. As you leave either side of the property to cross to the other you are at risk of being hit especially with the quietness of electric vehicles. So whilst everything was good I could never recommend this property from a health and safety point of view.

Thankyou for your feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed our gatehouse, Hall, cafe and grounds - its a fabulous feeling to walk round when everyone has gone home! We accept your points about the vehicles, which is why we are installing new signs for traffic to ensure care when entering and leaving the grounds. Property Owner

We were thrilled when we found we could book to stay there. We got the 3 nights including New Years Eve. Once inside the warm Gatehouse there was a Christmas card with 2 complementary tickets to the ‘Not So Silent Night’ which was a stunning Hall festive tour full of music and sparkle followed by hot dogs and hot chocolate in the cafe. A visit to Lytham Hall is a must evening if you don’t stay overnight. Paul and Peter are super fast to respond and ensure everything is tip top for your stay.
