  • "What a fantastic weekend we had."

We were a group of all women and enjoyed every minute. We used a local take away on the Friday night and had pizzas delivered and they were responsible price and very good quality. The house was spotless and had everything we needed. We spent time in the hot tub and enjoyed a great weekend with lovely friends would highly recommend it so much so we have already booked again for next October. If I had any negatives it would be we couldn't get the radiators on in the bedrooms but we don't know if that was something we were are were not doing or there was a fault because the rest of the house was lovely and warm Yes definitely get friends and family together an enjoy we didn't even go out we stayed in and enjoyed each other's company

Thank you so much for the amazing 100/100 review. It's great to hear that you all had a such a good time. Marine House is a great place for friend and families to get together and we are delighted that you have re-booked already! Kindest Regards Julie Property Owner

  • "We had 12 adults and 3 children staying at Marine house for a family reunion."

The house was perfect. Immaculately clean, well equipped with everything you could imagine. Beds were so comfortable and rooms had en suites. Great dining room. Hot tub was a wonderful addition, perfectly clean and warm. Great location, not far from the attractions of Southport, crazy golf and lovely restaurants. Great communication from the owner, with clear manual at the entrance. We had a perfect stay and would highly recommend. Thank you so much. ❤️

Thanks so much for the 100/100 review! I'm so pleased that you had a good time and that Marine House was all that was expected. It's a great location and often guests park up then don't have to use their cars again until the leave. Delighted to hear that everyone slept well and enjoyed the hot tub! We'd love to welcome you back... Kindest Regards Julie Property Owner

  • "We have just come home after a wonderful weekend in Marine House …."

I booked it for my family to celebrate my 75th birthday….and because I was born just around the corner from the house. We found the house very comfortable, spacious and in a good position for occupying everyone from 9 months to 83 years old… even though the weather was not the best. Julie also kindly allowed us a couple of extra hours leisurely checkout time because no one else was going in that day…. The only downside was that the hot tub was not warm on either days….!, This was disappointing because we had 3 teenagers with us who were all geared up to spend time in the hot tub…. However….it really didn’t spoil the weekend…and we are now thinking of an excuse to come back to celebrate something!,,,,!

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review after your stay at Marine House and choosing there to celebrate such a special occasion. The location is great and within easy walking distance to all local amenities, beach and ample restaurants and bars. I'm sorry to hear that you had issues with the hot tub. Not sure what happened as it was working perfectly for the guests that went in afterwards and pleased it didn't impact your stay too much. We would love to welcome you back....hopefully the weather might be a bit better too! Kindest Regards Julie Property Owner

  • "A really great place to stay on a golf trip."

Loads of space but enough shared space for the group to enjoy some social time. Near a great pub and a top restaurant as well. We used the kitchen to make breakfast one day and it was cracking. Great pans!

Thanks so much for the 100/100 review! I'm so pleased that you had a good time and that Marine House was all that was expected. • "I have booked large houses for 20 plus people for the last 5 years in Wales, and Cumbria, so I seen Marine house and it sounded perfect with a perfect location."

And I wasn't disappointed on first look it was good for parking the drive fitted 2 cars on and across rd was plenty of spaces to park more cars if needed in the pay and display. The property was over 5 floors and it was spotlessly clean, it was very well equipped in fact the best I've ever had over the years the bedrooms most with on suites was nicely decorated and the beds had crisp clean bedding on and was all comfortable. There was towels in each bedroom also white and clean. The lounge was a nice size and 3 couches was clean and no stains. We enjoyed the Hot tub outside and there was plenty of bence tables outside too. We was a 5 minute walk from everything, shops food and the Beach. The kitchen was perfectly equipped. The only negative I had is despite hot tub/garden rules stating only plastic cups outside there was None in the property, other than that and No pizza cutter, there was absolutely everything else you needed and all in good condition. I wanted to take the Range oven home lol. WiFi was very good. I would personally have liked more twin beds rather than doubles. I would absolutely use this property again, and recommend it to others.

Thanks so much for taking the time to leave us a review. I'm delighted that you all had an excellent stay. It's good to hear that you had everything you needed apart from some plastic glasses and a pizza cutter which we will make sure to supply, as we do really try to make our properties feel home-from-home. Location of The Marine House is perfect and often guests park up on day if arrival and don't need to use the car again until they leave. We'd love to welcome you back! Property Owner

  • "Marine House gets an easy 5 star rating from me ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Firstly, and most importantly to my family, the whole house was immaculate."

Every single room. Crisp white bedding and the most comfortable beds. It’s an 11 bedroom, 10 bathroom house with a hot tub in the garden. The location is perfect, a few minutes walk to Lord Street, a few minutes walk to Funland Arcade on Marine Drive and all the other attractions on the drive. We were very lucky to book the same weekend of the Southport air show (didn’t know this when we booked) and we watched most of the air show from the front step - there how good the location is. We were worried about parking spaces but there was no need to. 16 in our party (4 young children) and we came in 7 cars. We all go parking directly outside the property. Finally, the host Julie is lovely. Great communications and a really personal service. I would 100% recommend Marine House. We are definitely coming back

About the location

SOUTHPORT

Ainsdale 4 miles; Ormskirk 8 miles; Formby 8.5 miles.

Southport, along with its neighbour Ainsdale, lies on the coastline where the Irish Sea meets North West England. The town was founded in 1792 when an innkeeper, William Sutton, built a bathing house at what is now the south end of Lord Street, the main road running through the town. The town was small and not very widely populated until the turn of 19th century, when it became popular with tourists due to the easy access it provided to Leeds and Liverpool Canal. It quickly expanded and now boasts the second longest pleasure pier in the British Isles, the Southport Pier Tramway and Lord Street, an elegant, tree-lined shopping destination. From Birkdale to Woodvale, sand dunes stretch along the coastline and in Ainsdale in particular, the dunes have now been listed as a National Nature Reserve and a designated Ramsar site. The coastline stretches for 22 miles, with plenty of beaches to be discovered, making this classic seaside resort the perfect place to relax and unwind. There are scenic parks and gardens to explore, fabulous shopping opportunities, an exciting nightlife, as well as a mouth-watering array of restaurants and traditional seaside amusements. Stroll down the UK’s oldest iron pier and try the old penny slot machines in the Pavilion, or ride traditional carousels at Silcock’s Funland. Family attractions include Splash World, Martin Mere and Farmer Ted’s, while The Atkinson, an £18 million arts venue, is set in a Grade II listed building hosting a variety of visual and performing arts events. Southport’s extensive events programme includes the World Musical Fireworks Championships, the Southport Food and Drink Festival, Southport Air Show, Southport Flower Show and the Southport Jazz Festival. It is part of England’s Golf Coast and is home to seven championship courses, including Royal Birkdale, which hosted The Open Championship in 2008. In a great spot for a beach break, there really is something for everyone!
