"The cottage was fabulous, light , airy, spacious and comfortable."
A lovely peaceful location for this well equipped cottage. The gardens are maintained exceptionally well with plenty of outdoor seating. A great find as it’s situated within easy reach of the lakes , local attractions and amenities. We had a fabulous week and will definitely be returning. Had a slight hiccup with the smoke alarm but was immediately sorted. You should be proud of your cottages they are a credit to you
-
"Very nice accommodation in a spacious stone built barn."
Warm, comfortable, clean and tidy. Good garden and a quite location along with dwellings. Help on hand if needed. Everything that we needed for our stay was provided. A good base for visiting South Lakes.
-
"This was a comfortable cottage in a quiet spot."
It was ideal for exploring the area and a lovely base to come back to after a day out.
-

Everything you need is here for family stay….. Very clean as well. Dishwasher would be helpful Whisk in the kitchen Otherwise near perfect Cottage.
-
"The only thing the cottage lacked was a dishwasher, other than this it was a clean, good value, and very pleasant."
-
"We would recommend woodside barn to everyone as it is a perfect retreat."
If you needed anything all you needed to do was ask and the owners would sort it. Would definitely go back for another stay.

It is peaceful, restful and extremely comfortable.
-
"Thank you for a wonderful holiday in a home away from home."
The cottage was equipped with everything we needed and so we could relax and enjoy from day one. The surrounding area is beautiful, very peaceful and extremely quiet... Could not ask for a better location. The cottage was extremely clean and warm. Would definitely come again.
-
"Had a very relaxing stay and thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet."
A lovely cosy cottage to come back to after a day out, can imagine the garden is a gem in the warmer weather especially for families. The owners are very friendly and helpful if you need them.

"We three had a great time at the cottage."
Thank you very much!
-
"The house was perfect size for our family of 4, even a bit spacious!"
The children loved the outdoor space to play ball and to watch the animals in the field. We had a fabulous time and were all sorry to go when we had to leave. Thanks alot
-
"Great place very quiet, could have done with a freshen up half way through our two week stay maybe,"
-
"Sofa is low & soft which makes it tricky to get up from"
-
"Spacious, well equipped and comfortable accommodation in a quiet location and beautiful area."
Excellent communications with the hosts. We holidayed for two weeks at Woodside Barn and can highly recommended a stay at Ewedale.
-
"A lovely cottage with good facilities, very clean and comfortable, thank you!"
Good location for exploring the Peninsula, surprising amount of wildlife locally. Local views fantastic too.
-
"Beautiful property in a secluded location."
Personally found the sofas a little soft and low but it didn't spoil our enjoyment.
Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback Lynne, I really value this as we want to ensure that we maximize our guest experience and appreciate your recommendation about the sofa. Property Owner
-
"Absolutely beautiful property."
Spotless, comfortable beds, quiet. Clean tidy grounds around. Lovely bottle of wine left for us to enjoy when we arrived. Highly recommend. No faults whatsoever.
-
"Really lovely house."
There is a weird step in the kitchen down to the living room that you don’t notice if you’re not careful and it was super slippy for some reason! The place would really benefit from a wood burner but the electric radiators kick out some good heat for those cold winter evenings. The way the tv in situated means there is a whole lot of glare from the many windows in the living room. Other than those really minor gripes. The whole place is lovely and a perfect place to relax after a day on the fells :)
-
"The apartment was excellent, just as described."
So is the site. It is wonderfully quiet and isolated. The approach road is narrow but quiet; however it is bumpy and the entrance from the main road was a huge puddle. There is a public footpath round the site but it was impassible.
Thank you very much for your very informative feedback William, we really do appreciate your thoughts. I'm happy that you enjoyed your holiday. We are in the countryside so the roads can be quite dissimilar. Hopefully, this doesn't deter you from coming to stay with us again, as we would love to welcome you back. Property Owner

"If you like peace and quiet with plenty of room this is for you."
a short ride to Ulverston centre and lots of places nearby. loved it.
-
"Beautiful clean cottage ,lovely and peaceful no complaints only the entrance to the road leading down to the cottage needs attention , massive holes ."
-
"Ran out of toilet roll - whislt our 4 day stay may have been longer than some of your other clients, running out of toilet roll was the only down point of our stay."
Otherwise the place is excellent.
-
"A lovely little cottage with pretty garden."
We had a great stay here. Very cosy and it had everything we needed. Would return and recommend.
-
"We had a lovely stay at Woodside barn , the 10am departure is a bit early felt my weekend was only one night and there is no late check out option."
-
"We’ve just had a great stay in a very well equipped cottage that is well maintained and in a glorious location - we will definitely be booking again."
Our stay could only have been improved by the property having a dishwasher and the checkout time being 11am instead of 10am.
-
"Spotlessly clean and well equipped."
Looking to book again.
-
"Fantastic thank ypu for making it sp special for the boys with personal touching Christmas Decorations."
Best place I've ever stayed will recommend to others.
-
"It was a lovely, warm cottage in a good location."
Spotlessly clean and well presented. Only improvement would be the installation of a dishwasher but this is minor.
-
"A very well appointed, spacious cottage in a lovely area."
Additional cleaning materials available but these were not required as the cottage was spotless. Yes, the roads around are narrow but you get used to them. Lots of places to eat in town. We especially enjoyed the excellent food and friendly service at the tapas restaurant. Newly opened tea shop, Cobblestones, serves delicious cakes and has a laid back, retro vibe. No visit to the area is complete without a visit to the Laurel and Hardy museum- the best £6 I’ve spent in ages.
-
"Lovely cottage."
Very welcoming layout, moreso than the photos which make it look brighter than it is. Suite just a little low and deep for me but that's also a personal thing. Shortage of hanging space in the twin room, although I understand why. Excellent cottage and I can't wait to go back on my own for a quiet few days in spring......in one if the smaller cottages!
-
"Beautiful cottage,fantastic location,very comfortable and clean ..."
Beautiful cottage, fantastic location, very comfortable and clean property, everything you need for a cracking base to discover the Lake District Would definitely recommend a visit to Woodside Barn you won’t be disappointed 10/10
-
"The only thing that spoilt the holiday was the access road to the cottage ran through a field with cattle grates to keep the animals secure, the field had many sheep and 2 cows."
On the second day one of the cows started jumping towards my wife as we went for a morning walk. This caused my wife to be afraid to walk from the cottage to the main road. I know it is a rural location , but given the size of cows and the occasional story where they injure walkers, not keeping them in the access field, would avoid such incidents.
-
"Second visit to Woodside barn great place to stay if you like peaceful & quiet."
Owner Steve really nice & helpful the accommodation is nice & clean all the things you might need are there I would recommend a stay there if that’s the thing you’re looking for
-
"Lovely location and everything about the cottage was excellent."
-
"Almost exceeded our expectations."
The cottage was spotlessly clean and a pleasure to be in. It had everything we needed and more. Only downside was that downstairs furniture looked great but wasnt comfortable (sofa and dining chairs). Sounds silly but when you've been out walking all day a comfy seat is what we were looking for.
-
"Enjoyed staying here so much I have booked a return visit."
Quiet rural location but only a short drive into Ulverston. Cottage is comfortable and very well equipped. Warm welcome from Ste on arrival.
-
"Can't really add much more to the glowing feedback I've read about this place already."
It lived up to all the positive reports and more. The place is immaculate. You wouldn't belive it wasn't decorated this year. It is spotlesly clean. All appliances are fisr class (none of the usual rubbish you find in such rental) and everything works. The location is excellent and the farm is immaculate. The owner is welcoming and friendly and even his little Jack Russel dog came for a visit to make sure we're at home. Telephone 3G/4G works but WIFI never connected. After the shock of being without internet wore off, we relaxed and enjoyed the peace and seclusion. I would highly recommend this complex for short or long break in the south lakes.
-
"Liked the property and the location."
Great for exploring this part of the world although obviously you need a car to get about. There was no handbook for the property which we've found with others we have stayed in. even though we didn't feel we had complete control of the heating, as it's on storage heaters, we tend to go to bed early ish so were never cold. the kitchen is equipped and suitable to cook your own meals if required. the beds were comfortable. The downstairs shower is a little small but works well and gets you clean. Overall we enjoyed our stay here and would return in the future.
-
"Absolutely fantastic stay."
The cottage was very comfortable and clean and very child friendly. It was a lovely surprise to find board games, dvds and a Games console in the living area and kept my 4 year old son entertained for hours. We visited for my Sons Birthday and he enjoyed every minute... So much so he got upset when we had to leave! The only downfall I found was that we didn't realise we needed to take our own straps to fasten my 8 month old into the high chair provided so we couldn't use it, but I'm not sure if that's just standard anywhere. We would definitely stay again.
-
"An excellent location with good access to the Lakes."
The Cottage was very cosy and really appreciated the bottle of wine, coffee and sugar. There was useful information available regarding places of interest and local gastropubs. We arrived over an hour earlier than the normal check in time but this was not an issue for the owners who allowed us entry. Power cut from 7pmish to just before 11pm on our final evening. Good job we had already eaten or else we could have been in a little trouble. Nothing the owners could have done about this though other than perhaps enquire to see if everything was ok. There was a torch in one of the cupboards and it was fortunate our Iphones were charged! Gorgeous farm cat purring away that our daughter loved. All in all a fantastic experience! Thank you!
-
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here."
The cottage was in excellent condition. Without hesitation we would look to stay here again at the right time. Steve was such a great help throughout break. It felt like a home as opposed to just a break away. The views and access you have at this destination are major plus. Thank you Steve.
-
"Great cottage in a great location."
Welcome pack and two bathrooms made it a nice, comfortable stay. Plenty of animals around - good for kids.
-

-
"Had a wonderful time at Woodside Barn , cottage was spotless , facilities excellent, the area was peace full and picturesque."
Steve the owner was very welcoming and help full throughout our stay , hope to return sometime in the future.
-
"A lovely quiet location and what a view on the road to it."
One little thing may be a house name sign at the top of the drive would be a lovely idea. Other than that great!!
-
"Really nice spot hidden down the hill and next to artificial lakes."
The owner was very helpful and made sure everything was at out disposal. Very quiet and close to town. We loved it!
-
"Cottage absolutely spotlessly clean."
Great place to relax and unwind Thank You
-
"Such a peaceful and pleasant cottage, would definateley go back again"
-
"Woodside Barn is perfect accommodation."
It is in beautiful surroundings, very quiet. There is everything in the accommodation that you would need. The welcome pack of wine and milk was very welcome after a long drive. It was a pity about the weather but the owners cannot do anything about that. Would certainly recommend and would return if back in that part of the country.
-
"Fantastic cottage."
Incredibly clean and comfortable. Facilities included things we hadn't even considered we might need (a handy slow cooker meant we had meals ready after long hikes), the kitchen was very well provided, outdoor spaces were beautiful and well kept and the owners left us wine, milk, tea and coffee and even brought my parents some fresh eggs. Cannot rate them highly enough.
-
"This is our 3rd time visiting this property- always clean and well maintained."
Very friendly owners. We have used most of the high -end cottage providers in the last 10 years- but in last 3 Sykes have become our number one, for the quality of the houses and the excellent service.
-
"Lovely setting."
But quite remote. We found it easier to spend whole day out and eat out at lunchtime rather than go out again in t,he evening to eat. As the road into ulverston is quite steep and narrow and the farm access road quite bumpy. Having said that the barn is in a lovely quiet peaceful location, only the sound of birds. No traffic noise great. It is a lovely area not one we had explored much before, but still handy for the lakes and holker hall and cartmel. Having gone into Windermere on. The Wednesday we were really glad to be staying in a quieter area. We couldn't believe the queues and the amount of people milling about. Didn't stay long but headed back to the more peaceful area around cartmel and ulverston. The facilities were good and having two bathrooms made it much easier with 4 adults in the barn. All in all a great break and would recommend it.
-
"The location is lovely & very remote ideal for relaxation re-charging you batteries which of course means a car is essential."
-
"Excelent holiday cottage, great place"
-
"It's wonderful location, great facilities"
-
"Excellent cottage in quite a remote location."
Car essential to get to local facilities and walks. Very hilly but spectacular. Thoroughly enjoyed our week.
-
"Great little cottage."
A bit remote but only 3 miles up hill from Ulverston town which is a quick drive. Nice owners. Good location for Central and South Lake District.
-
"A delightful cottage in a beautiful location, we will return."
-
"Excellent location friendly people could not recommend highly enough"
-
"The place was spotless very peaceful, the owners were very helpful & friendly"
-
"Fantastic cottage which was very homely and clean."
Beautiful surroundings and an excellent base to explore the Lake District. Highly recommended.
-
"One of 5 converted barns but still calm and private."
Beautiful well tended gardens.Helpful on site owners. Warning it is quite remote and road to it is rather rough.
