  • "Had a super time."

We booked last minute on the morning of our stay for 4 nights. It was no problem at all for the owners of Miners Cottage. Lovely cottage in a great spot for exploring further a field.

  • "The property was warm and welcoming, however we did have to report issues to the owners during our stay."

We asked for a new frying pan as the one in the property was very badly scratched, and enquired if a mattress topper could be provided as we were getting bad backs from the bed. These were promptly provided; we also reported areas in the property which had layers of dust. The Kitchen is well equipped but the fridge freezer could easily be replaced. It was good to have an area at the back of the property for wet coats and boots. We enjoyed exploring the area but wouldn't stay at this property again.

  • "We found Miners Cottage to be clean, cosy and comfortable."

The town had a couple of pubs, and cafés plus a CO- OP for groceries. We liked having a real fire to keep us warm in the evenings, it made for a lovely atmosphere after walking all day. The property would benefit from supplying a hair dryer and a mirror near a wall socket but other than that it had everything you could need.

As it is old it took a while to heat up and we found it needed the fire alight to help maintain heat in the living room but we did have quite a cold week, snowing on the last day. Despite that had a relaxing week and it's a lovely town and area and one we will return to.

Such a relaxing location but within easy and scenic drives of so many good places to visit. Will be looking to book again for 2023. Comfortable cottage with everything you need. Handy to have the ground floor shower room as well as the upstairs bathroom. Cottage is clean and cosy. Neighbours are friendly and the village is well served by a Co-op food store, newsagents, butchers, hardware and cafes/restaurants. The cottage has plenty of character and is recently renovated. It has been cleaned to the high standard. The decor is neutral and tasteful. The bedding is new and of 4*hotel quality. The heating works and temperature is comfortable. The only thing is that windows in the living room and master bedroom do not open for fresh air. It is important during the pandemic to allow air flow so we had to open front door and bathroom windows to allow some air there. The town is beautiful with waterfalls and stunning walks. There are pubs, restaurants where you can eat outside. All accessible by foot. Owner is super friendly and attentive so are the neighbours. We felt welcome everywhere. We would recommend this property.

Many thanks for your feedback. The window has been checked and it does open and we are here to assist any guest if they have any issues during their stay. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay and thank you again for the lovely feedback Property Owner
