The house is fabulous, spotless and well equipped. The owners were lovely - great communication throughout! We did lots of activities nearby - we enjoyed a lovely walk down the beach, a spa day and firework display at the swan hotel and spa, a lovely roast dinner at the famers baycliff and we had a private chef for the Saturday evening - real food chefs. It was a great weekend away, would recommend :D

  • "Wonderful Stay at Old Stable – Highly Recommended!"

We had an incredible stay at Old Stable, just outside Ulverston. The accommodation is modern yet cozy, with high ceilings, exposed beams, and underfloor heating throughout. The bedrooms are all ensuite with smart TVs, and the beds were so comfortable that I slept perfectly every night – something I rarely experience away from home! The fully equipped kitchen had everything we needed, and the welcome basket filled with treats was a lovely touch. The private hot tub was perfect for relaxing in the evenings, and the ample parking male things easy for groups. Communication with the owners was excellent, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. If you're looking for a peaceful, comfortable getaway in the South Lakes, Old Stable is a fantastic choice!

So pleased you all enjoyed your stay- hopefully you will visit The Stable again. Helen Property Owner

  • "What an amazing place to stay!"

The Stables it outstanding and the reviews were spot on. Fab location not too far from anywhere near but still quiet and surrounded by great countryside. The attention to detail for it being a 'home' is just great. It is extremely spacious and fitted our families needs perfectly. The Wi-Fi was great throughout the house. The house is lovely and warm and we had the fire on but not for heat just because it was beautiful. There is everything you could ever need in the house. Beds are so comfy and everything has that luxurious touch. Plenty of games which we loved and played. Helen and Mark are really lovely and so welcoming. Best welcome pack we have ever had and great to open cupboards and you find salt, pepper etc. There is a hot tub and bbq but we never used them. Definitely have a visit to The Farmers in Baycliff, delicious meal with brilliant staff. Great to have in-depth instructions for the appliances etc. We will definitely be back. Honestly one of the best homes we have stayed in!

What a stunning home, such a beautiful place, built and decorated to the highest standard in a lovely setting. The Old Stable was equipped with literally everything needed and all the little finishing touches such as towels, toiletries, kitchen essentials and a welcome hamper were an added bonus. The old stable is in a fab location, we had a stroll down the road and along the beach to a local pub, The Farmers Baycliff were we had a few drinks and some lovely food then we got a taxi ride back. Lots of fun was had, relaxing in the beautiful home, chilling in the hot tub & catching up with friends. Thank you to Helen and Mark for being such fab hosts also, great communication and being on hand if we needed anything at all. We would definitely recommend and would love to come back again sometime!

  • "Beautiful accommodation with everything you could possibly need (with the exception of sun sadly) Immaculately clean in all areas."

Made full use of the hot tub even in the rain, which was great. The local roads were quiet which made them ideal for cycling, There were 10 of us between the two accommodations on site . Our only comment would be that although the Stable and Cottage are on the same site to get from one to the other you have to walk a short way on the main road. We all had a lovely week and would definitely return.

  • "We read the reviews but thought ‘It sounds amazing but probably won’t be quite as wonderful as that’."

We were wrong. It was even better! EVERYTHING was as folk said - simply FAB-U-LOUS. Wonderfully furnished with such lovely comfy, sink into sofas and with equally comfortable, padded dining chairs you could sit on all morning. The beds, SO very comfortable and the whole house a perfect temperature with the ground source heating and with no nasty drafts. There was a beautiful vase of roses (real!) and a basket of goodies to greet us on arrival PLUS a bottle of bubbly in the fridge! Mark and Helen (the owners) are delightful and so helpful. The weather was not too good for our 3 night stay, having timed it perfectly to coincide with a deep depression, but we were very cosy and with games in the drawers and a large screen Smart TV (HDMI cable provided) plus TVs in every bedroom, all of which worked perfectly. We even tried the hot tub in the strong NW wind and it was bliss. Everything anyone needs to know is in the ‘How to’ folder which was on the table and we can thoroughly recommend the first pub we tried - the Farmers’ Arms - just 1.5 miles away which serves fantastic food at very reasonable prices. We weren’t there long enough to try any others. Last thing to say is don’t do what I did and hunt for a kettle. The kitchen has the very latest in hobs and modern appliances with a massive fridge PLUS the tap on the sink has an amazing device which dispenses boiling water, instantly! If you’ve never seen one, the instructions are in the folder on the table and, if I can do it, anyone can! We shall be back.

Thank you for you great review. It was lovely having you and your friends to stay. I'll try to organise better weather next time you stay! Helen Property Owner

There are 4 bedrooms, all en-suite, and all with TV's, which meant we could all go back to our rooms whenever we felt like it. We stayed Friday to Sunday with a group of girlies to celebrate a 50th birthday. We were contacted by Helen before arrival to ensure we had everything we needed and they also allowed us to check in earlier as the rental was ready, which was nice as we could set up some decorations. The rental was well equipped and one of the most equipped rentals I have stayed in. The Old Stable has been renovated to a high standard and excellent quality. Each room has its own bathroom and they have excellent finishes and have little toiletries (great quality products). There are USB ports by the sockets of beds, for charging mobiles, sound bar to play music, the hot tub was ready and great temp, the rental inside and out was immaculate. The kitchen had everything you needed including tea towels, foil, cling film, there wasn't anything we needed. Too much to mention. We also arrived to a Hamper of Wine, Fizz, nuts, biscuits and fugde and fresh roses in a vase. The Old Stable really felt homely and Helen and Mark (who live next door) where lovely and provided additional information about the nearby areas. Loved this place and we will be looking to book again as a family holiday early next year. We all had a fantastic time, even though the weather wasn't too great on the Saturday, it didn't impact or dampen our stay.

This is the best property we have ever stayed in. The facilties are 5 star, the beds were very comfortable. The owner has thought of your every need and nothing is too much trouble. Whilst it felt homely, the modern appliances were soooo much better than home, so to have this level of luxury meant it felt a special break. Stayed as two families and because of the en suites, always had our own space and evey bedroom felt like the master bedroom, although the master was stunning!!! It is on main road but due to the electric gates, the garden was completely enclosed ensuring the childrens safety at all times, allowing us to relax. There are two beach areas close by for access to Morecambe Bay. We always drove off as we had small children and walking along road didn't seem the best idea. We felt Barrow had more to offer than Ulverston for kids but also 30 mins from Lake Windermere for a boat trip, mooch around and an ice cream. We would highly recommend this property.
