  • "Absolutely perfect stay, every little detail was thought of even down to a rock to hold open the front door for the dog."

We will be returning as well as recommending this property. The owner is lovely and our stay peaceful and relaxing. Great well thought out welcome basket which was very much appreciated.

  • "Great property that had all we needed for a relaxing stay in the lakes, very clean and tidy with obvious care taken in ensuring it was as welcoming as possible."

Easy to get out onto the main routes to go exploring and perfect to return to in the evening for a relax in front of the fire. Would recommend this property for anyone looking at staying in the area

  • "The decor is simple and stylish, not cluttered and mismatched like many holiday cottages."

It makes the cottage feel spacious and relaxing. Loved the vase of garden flowers in the kitchen. The location instructions are totally accurate, but on reading them it seemed more complicated than it actually is to get there. I would definately recommend for a single person or couple wanting a well located, uncomplicated base for the lakes and dales. The owners handbook is full of useful information about the cottage and things to do. Better than a few leaflets and photocopied basic and dated info. I would definitely book here again.

  • "The cottage was lovely with everything we could possibly need."

Warm and nicely furnished, with thoughtful extras. Our spaniels loved the enclosed garden, and two minutes to the village green for a morning trot. Really enjoyed our stay.

  • "Everything was amazing and we especially loved all the little details for the dogs and baby that had been added in or thought of, absolutely couldn’t have asked for better!"

Hosts were also absolutely lovely and very friendly and helpful! I actually thought the property looked smallish from the pictures which wasn’t a problem for us anyway, but I was pleasantly surprised at how spacious it was! We will definitely be recommending to others and hope to return in the future too!

Fantastic enclosed garden for our cocker spaniel. Secure off road parking. Cottage had everything we needed, village just missing a pub to make it perfect. Owners were very welcoming and on hand if we needed anything.

The enclosed garden is very safe for dogs .Despite the very inclement weather we had a lovely week staying in Natland, a good base to explore the lakes . Added bonus we came home with a large bag of apples from the garden . Thank you!

  • "Stunning and spacious cottage with everything you would need for a relaxing break, nestled in the quiet village of Natland."

Dale, Adele & family all very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The village is located around an hours walk from Kendal, either via the river walk or the main road. Couple of pubs within a 10/20 mins wander. Dale and Adele are amazing hosts, printing us additional walk information which was of great use.

Extremely clean and comfortable. Lovely village setting and nice enclosed garden. Perfectly placed for visiting the Lake District, Cumbrian mountains and Yorkshire. The hosts are extremely knowledgable about the area, and suggested lots of things to see and do. Very kind, friendly people but respected our privacy throughout our stay. Cannot praise our stay highly enough, would definitely stay there again when in that area.

  • "Created with empathy for its historical significance and with the owners love and pride stitched into every detail ,Natland Hall Cottage is well thought out to ensure the absolute comfort of its guests both human and four legged."

The decor is aspirational , your have your own parking space and the bonus of the use of a secure outside area . The cottage has a cosy warmth in welcome and in temperature and provides every creature comfort needed for a great holiday in any season. Natland village provides the peaceful idyll as a fabulous hub for adventures in every direction. The jewel that is Morecambe bay in one direction, the much loved Lake District the opposite way or head to the Limestone of the rugged Yorkshire Dales. We did a mix of all three. Walking aplenty is available from the cottage doorstep with the river Kent providing a wonderful guide through unspoilt countryside that must be a well kept local secret ! Kendal with its abundant shopping and eateries is just a short drive away and the friendly, helpful owners are on hand to ensure everything runs to plan.

The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster, gas hob and electric double oven and includes ample cutlery and crockery to make sure you don’t have to scrabble around for a sharp knife or enough pans!

A slight step down leads to a spacious dining lounge with a gas powered woodburning-style stove, Smart TV, sofa, foot stool, and drop side dining table.

In the corner tucked away under the stairs is a cupboard for coats, boots and shoes and storage for patio furniture cushions, highchair, ironing board, mop and bucket and hoover.

A single flight of stairs leads to an oak floored first floor with a small step into a spacious king-size bedroom.

The bedroom includes twin bedside cabinets with lamps and alarm clock, double wardrobe, dressing table with lamp and mirror, and an armchair.

The bedroom boasts beautiful views over the village and up to The Helm, a local hill with a pub at either end and fantastic 360° views from the hills of the south eastern Lake District, The Howgills and Ingleborough of the Yorkshire Dales and sweeping back to the coastal nature reserves of Silverdale and Arnside of the north Lancashire coastline.

A light and airy landing with office area leads to a bathroom with step over bath, shower, toilet and basin which during the winter months has views out towards the national nature reserves of Whitbarrow Scar and Foulshaw Moss and in the summer has views of the abundant apple tree in the garden!

The local area is steeped in history with the remains of the Lancaster to Kendal canal which serviced the numerous Yards of Kendal, a gunpowder works, and Levens and Sizergh Halls both beautiful medieval properties and home to the world's oldest topiary garden.
