"Lovely little cottage in a very quite village location in the shallower hills of the Lakes, but a short drive to the more dramatic mountain scenery."
Ideal for a relaxing break. Get your shopping before arrival as the closest shop (Co-op) is 5 miles away.

"Was black dog hairs all over the place."
I had to hoover everywhere the morning after we landed at house. My two children were playing on carpet and were covered. All floors were covered in dog hairs and still after being hoovered were still there. Also dog mess outside the back.

"Pond end is a lovely cosy little cottage with beautiful views."
I brought my own towels but a bath mat for the bathroom floor would have been useful. The kitchen is well equipped and we made full use of it. Maybe a couple of bigger mugs might have been useful too. On the whole we loved our stay and would definitely recommend Pond end cottage.

"The cottage was lovely, very clean and all you could wish for."
The beds were extremely comfortable. Unfortunately we had to leave early because my back problem flared up. We let the owners know and they were very understanding. It was a sad ending to what could have been a lovely holiday. Regards Jean

"Me and my family got to the cottage after 8 and it was dark and didn't find the cottage at first."
It was on the right of the cross road sign. It was cold that evening and the host had kindly put the heating on and we opened the door to a cosy warm cottage. It was very clean and had all the amenities as posted on the site. The beds were very comfy just like home. We were able to visit Lake Windermere, Ullswater, Dalmain house and Aire Water force waterfall from the cottage. We had a very comfortable stay there and would highly recommend this cottage. It would be more lovely in the summer as the view from the back garden was already beautiful now. The host even made a visit the next morning to check that all was ok. Thank you to the host for a lovely stay

"WE loved our stay at Pond end cottage."
The surroundings are absolutely beautiful and picturesque and the fields to the rear of the cottage were a sight to behold and a pleasure each morning watching the horses and the rabbits playing whilst enjoying a cup of tea surrounded by little birds in the morning light. The property itself is ideally situated for what we needed, access to most places and all within easy reach with the car. The cottage was homely and very comfortable and was home from home. My wee Mum came with us and she loved every minute of her stay there. If it bothers you in any way, The internet access was poor but this wasn't really an issue for us as the property and surroundings were more important. Overall, We had a wonderful time in this part of the lake district and would not hesitate to come back again. Thank you.

"A most enjoyable and comfortable week at Pond End Cottage."
Easy access to the Eastern Lake District and the North Pennines for walking plus Kendal, Penrith and Appleby for shopping and good food. The owners were friendly and helpful, checking that all was well with us. Will probably return here at some time for another holiday in a pretty rural location.
