Ousby is a small village surrounded by countryside in the Eden Valley. It has a pub called the Fox Inn, a campsite and a church called St Luke's Church. It is excellent for walking and cycling and is only a mile from the village of Melmerby which offers a wide green with a winding stream, a pub, a shop, a bakery and a church and is situated on C2C Cycle Route. The surrounding countryside is abundant with wildlife and is home to the native red squirrel and hares can be spotted easily, and the varied landscape is also a haven for birdwatchers, where curlews, oystercatchers and lapwings can be seen during the summer months. Within easy reach are many places to visit including the town of Penrith, the village of Pooley Bridge and beautiful Ullswater. A delightful place to stay in order to explore this wonderful area.
