  • "We recently stayed at the barn,a group of 7 friends that had planned this visit in advance to catch up rewind and refresh."

Upon arrival we were greeted by the owner who was welcoming and showed us around. Overall our general stay was good, however we did experience some issues during our stay: When all the heating was switched on the electrics tripped several times. In order to stop the electrics tripping we were advised by the owner to leave the heating off in the games room as there was an overload? Due to this we did not use the games room as it was too cold. Awful smell coming from the bathroom in the first bedroom on our first night. This cleared after the water had been run for a while. The hot tub was not ready for use on our arrival as it had not reached the required temperature for use, we lost out on using it for our first evening. As we were only there for 3 nights we felt it should have been ready for use. Beds were narrow but comfy. Kitchen was well equipped. Overall the stay was good but would have been better had we not experienced the above issues.

However two things, one being the road leading up to the farm, horrible horrible road but understandable the condition its in. Two the beds werent the most comfy maybe thinner pillows would help. Other then that i cant fault the place

Property was amazing and the facilities were so good, unfortunately getting to the property was down a country lane and it had plenty of potholes which we tried to avoid but ended up with scratches all over both sides of our car which was a disappointment

  • "We stayed from Friday until Monday cannot fault the place or the hosts."

Was met by the host on Fri who let us in showed us around and then left us to it. Please ignore the other reviews as they are not accurate at all because the hosts are absolutely fantastic. The facilities and cleanliness of the property was very good. You can’t do bbq’s because the property owners have horses which is not an issue at all as the kitchen has everything you need. If you’re lucky you’ll see the beautiful horses on a morning getting trained. Blackpool is a short 15 minute ride away. We will defo come back to stay in the future and would defo reccomend this to family and friends.

What a lovely clean property filled with everything you may need . Owners were so nice couldn't do enough for you. Very chilled out property . Very quiet and private place . Beds were so comfy . Lots of towels even ones for the hot tub . Milk , biscuits , tea & coffee left for us . My only concern was the road upto the property very uneven and lots of large holes . Thank-you for a great week for 2 staff & 2 people we look after

Thank you for your feedback back so glad you enjoyed Property Owner

  • "Me and some friends stayed over Friday to Monday for a long weekend break."

The house was lovely and clean. However, the only road leading to the property which was approximately half a mile long was atrocious. It was covered in pot holes and very uneven. Don’t even bother bringing your vehicle if it’s not an suv, a 4x4 or a tractor. You will damage it, as this is what happened to our cars. It is impossible to get across without scraping the whole underside. Both the Owner and Sykes Holiday Cottages were unhelpful and simply advised to go through car insurance (yeah right). A note on the property listing would have atleast been helpful as a warning. The property listing also does not warn you that you are unable to do a bbq. We had bought our own bbq supplies and food, only to be told during our stay that we are unable to light as there are horses nearby. A note on the property listing would have been helpful. Also, the owners live right next door, and this would not have been a problem if they weren’t so nosy. On our first morning we were asked to switch off lights if we weren’t using the room as they noticed one being left on. (Not that it’s important but how would they know if we weren’t using the room??). We kept the blinds shut for the remainder of our stay as we did not feel comfortable. If you like transparency and privacy i would stay away. If you want to ruin the underside of your car, then you might enjoy your stay.

Thank you for your feed back, we have now amended the property description to ask guests to take care when driving on the lane up to the property and also that there are no facilities to have a BBQ. We always try and welcome our guests on arrival and then respect their privacy at all times, we would never intrude on their stay unless they wanted out help or guidance and then we are happy to help :) Property Owner

  • "Our two week family holiday flew by and we were a bit sad to leave."

The Barn is a perfect base for seeing the beautiful countryside or simply putting your feet up. The owners went the extra mile and a furlong in preparing the Barn and making us welcome. Our holiday continues now but staying at the Barn is a really hard act to follow.

Thank you so much it was a pleasure hope you continue to have a happy holiday Property Owner
