  • "Beautiful clean and inviting on arrival."

The description of it was vague. Please note that there is no shop or bars or anything on site unless you are willing to risk the traffic on A6. The beds are small and elderly larger people do not fit in them. You can't move beds to push together for safety. The suite in lounge area is uncomfortably low and after just two days we had decided to cut the holiday short. The insurance is next to useless..it doesn't cover much at all. You can't use your Netflix account as it won't take owners details off so you can put in your own. The site is not dog friendly as they are building more caravans on the only bit of woodland and have shut the road off with cones and the sound of lorries starts about 7.30 in morning. Please note if your dog gets out by mistake there is a pond and ducks .. very close. Had this been a child instead of my dog it would have been a disaster. Sykes did ask if we wanted to move but it was too late as the holiday was a total wash out by then.

I’m glad you found everything inviting and clean when you arrived at our lodge. I realise that, as you said to me in private, you had booked the wrong place in error and before you arrived you didn’t really want to stay at our place. I did say to get in touch with Sykes and change your booking. I feel this issue has coloured your review. We have on site, with just a 5 minute walk from the lodge, a lovely bar and restaurant. They do get busy so it is advisable to book but this is definitely not across the A6. You will also find the gym and swimming pool here. The nearest shops are in Carnforth where you can find small local shops along with a Tesco, Booths and Aldi. The beds are the usual size for this type of accommodation. Regarding the Netflix account we never leave our account details on their as we don’t actually have an account so you should be able to log in to your own account. If you had contacted me during your stay I could have arranged for someone from the main office to call over and sort this issue out for you. The TV has full free view channels. The site is dog friendly as you can walk in the many grounds around the main lake as well as Borwick lakes. The lodge is fenced and gated so I’m not sure, unless the person staying left the gate open, how a dog would get out. There are ponds on site which attract wildlife but we have never had an issue with either our grandchild, visiting children or the dogs that have stayed. As I have already said, this was not the type of holiday or place for you or the people who were staying with you. I can only say that I wish you had changed the place you chose to stay as after speaking to Sykes I know this was an option for you. This then wouldn’t have been the negative review you have given us which has left us feeling very disappointed. Property Owner

  • "Beautiful lodge in an amazing location."

We have had a lovely week and feel so relaxed, first time booking a lodge and we were not disappointed, everything you need is there to enjoy your holiday. Carole, the owner responded quickly to questions,, I now know to use a gas oven the hob lid needs to be lifted. We were lucky to have fabulous weather and took advantage of sitting outside on the decking, comfy chairs available that were in the storage cupboard. There is everything you need in the kitchen, plenty of towels and also fleeces to cover the sofas for your doggie to snuggle in.

It’s lovely to hear that you enjoyed your stay. It’s been a pleasure to speak to you and I’m so glad I could help. Many thanks for your feedback, it’s appreciated. Property Owner

  • "We had an issue with the tv in the lounge on arrival but the owner quickly sorted out the issue."

The tv had been left on a radio station which is why there wasn’t a picture. I’m glad we could quickly get it sorted for you. I hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay. Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely stay here over the Bank Holiday weekend with our son and 2 grandchildren."

The property was very clean and had everything we needed for a lovely stay. The children enjoyed the pool and there is a small childrens play area just steps away which they also enjoyed. We visited a local farm with an indoor soft play area and spent a day in the lake district. The property had some games for the children and Netflix which was very much appreciated. There was plenty room for the 5 of us but I would say being 6ft 3 my sons feet did hang out the end of the bed

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. Many thanks for the feedback. Property Owner

  • "This was a lovely chalet."

Perfectly situated to see the Lake District, Lancashire and Yorkshire. While the weather wasn’t the best it didn’t stop us getting out and seeing the area. We had a power cut and I had to ring the owner to help find the mains switch. She was lovely and so helpful. I felt bad ringing her so late in the evening. The only thing I would recommend is maybe having that information in a wee booklet should it happen again and guidance about sheets and towels on departure. We followed the generic advice and put all the sheets and towels in the bath so hope this was ok.

Caravan/lodge was great, clean and had everything. The only thing was my husband found the furniture uncomfortable to sit on so couldn’t sit for long. Dogs loved there staycation with great walks by the sea just a short car journey away

  • "Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 3 Yealands!"

The property is so well equipped, more so than anywhere we have stayed before. Everything you will need in the kitchen, incl microwave, large fridge freezer and washer/dryer. The owner also let us know there was a George Foreman grill available for outside but we didn’t use in the end. The location is beautiful and quiet, you can walk between the different sites and explore the multiple lakes and footpaths however if you want to go further afield you may need to take the car as we struggled with the dog and baby on roads without footpaths - we read about this in advance so were prepared to do this. No issues with road noise at all for us and no issues with other visitor noise. Property was clean and tidy, lounge area spacious and comfortable. For those travelling with a baby, we managed to just fit the travel cot into the bay window of the master bedroom, got a little cold in the night so put the heating on before bed to keep your little one warm. Outside area is fully secure for four-legged friends to enjoy a rest in the sunshine. Hoover was available also to keep on top of any dog hair throughout our stay. Our only small feedback would be a couple of extra pillows. Overall, fantastic stay and we love it - would recommend and will hopefully be back again!

  • "Had a great week at 3 Yealands, best caravan we have ever stayed in."

The kitchen was well equipped including a washer dryer and a dishwasher and we were left a pack with dish washer tablets, cloth and t towels. The kitchen equipment far exceeded anything we have had before. ~The caravan was spacious and really comfortable a real home from home. Will most definitely be booking again. Lovely site, really quiet, a bit of road noise but it was windy. There is a small play park for children. Great location to get to the lake district and all the sights. Pet and child friendly.
