  • "Overall a lovely comfortable stay."

Just a couple of tweaks would make it excellent no dish cloth to wipe surfaces only 1 dishwasher tablet not enough for a few days would have brought my own if I had known no spare waste bin liners. Difficult to use key safe would suggest leaving the large key for storage cupboard outside off it as this seemed to be causing the problem and the soap dispenser in the en suite shower room was empty. Just a bit of constructive criticism hence only 4* apart from that a lovely place to stay.

Thank you for your valuable feedback. I am so sorry that the items you have listed were not available to you. I will speak to our housekeeping staff to ascertain why things were missing. As a matter of course a dishcloth, 3 dishwasher tablets and a couple of spare bin bag liners should have been left for you. All soap dispensers should be left with sufficient soap in for your use. I do not understand why this was not the case on this occasion and am grateful that you have brought this to our attention. Property Owner

  • "Great lodge in a good location for exploring."

It’s very clean with everything you will need for a relaxing break. The lake and ducks are very relaxing. Lots of lovely things to do in the area. More information required to find the lodge on arrival might be helpful we wasted some time trying to find before having to disturb the owner.

Thank you for your lovely review. We are so pleased that you had a relaxing time at Fountain View and enjoyed the surrounding area. You should have received a site map and a photograph of the lodge prior to your arrival. I will investigate why this did not happen We hope that we can welcome you back again in the future. • "Lovely lodge."

Very clean and comfortable. Plentiful and good quality kitchen items and furnishings. Thoughtful provision of quality games for wet days and useful guide pack of local area. Lodge situated on the smaller lake in Coniston area was peaceful as nearby lodges were not occupied at the time of our stay. The lodge and grounds on there own would score 5/5. However be warned the cost of swimming on site was ridiculously expensive. - £20 for myself and grandaughter. (Over £40 for 4 of us) Due to this we only visited once - towels not even provided at this cost. We were not the only family to be complaining at this price. If we return to this site I would drive us to swim off site as there are several other options nearby.

We are delighted with your review of Fountain View and are very pleased that you enjoyed your stay in our lodge. As you will appreciate the facilities provided by Pure Leisure are not within our control. These issues have been raised with them in the past by many owners but, unfortunately, no action has, as yet, been taken. However, I do hope that this will not put you off visiting Fountain View again in the future. Property Owner

  • "A beautiful lodge in a great location."

Everything you would need for a comfortable home from home stay. Lake with the ducks that visited every morning lunch and tea time sn absolute delight. Great communication from owner. Bonus was, there was a washing machine which was unexpected as not in the lodge description. The lodge would benefit I think from a hairdryer. A couple of minor negatives were, no bin liner in kitchen bin, 1 bath sheet the other towels were 2 hand towels and a bath towel which was quite small, the BBQ on passing by had a slight greasy odour which we got used to, none of the above spoiled our stay. Would highly recommend to family and friends and will definitely be booking another visit. Great location close to the lakes we visited Bowness on Windermere stunning place. We didn't use facilities on site but the pool looked nice and clean and the bar/ restaurant inviting would visit next time.

Thank you so much for your overall positive review. Our policy is to provide 1 bathsheet, 2 bath towels and two hand towels per adult couple. I’m sorry you did not find this adequate. I don’t understand why the bins did not have liners in them and spare liners left. This is our general practice. I will speak to our housekeeper to see what went wrong in the preparation of the lodge on this occasion. I am puzzled by the smell from the BBQ and will investigate this and correct the situation on our next visit. I take on board your comment regarding the lack of a hairdryer and will certainly provide one in the future at a time when PAT testing is due in order to comply with Health and Safety regulations. We look forward to welcoming you back to Fountain View next year. Property Owner
