  • "Lovely caravan, got everything you need in kitchen, got WiFi Alexa, plenty of space, for 2 people and dog."

You do need a car to get about nearest bus stop 20mins away, there is no shop on site just small bar and restaurant??, swimming pool and gym.

  • "Lovely and clean on arrival but this definitely leans more towards upgraded static caravan rather than a lodge as the second bedroom is very small."

Good spacious living room / kitchen area and is very well stocked with cooking utensils. My feedback is that the radiator in the main bathroom could do with replacing and an extra set of forks and knives would be a bonus. Overall good value for money

  • "We arrived at the property early, but everything was ready for us."

With parking right outside the property, this made it easy to unload the car and stack the groceries away in the American style fridge freezer. The kitchen was very well equipped which made preparing home cooked food easy. The bed was very comfortable with good quality pillows and bed linen. The towels were nice quality too. We had a problem with the bathroom tap but this was resolved quickly. All in all we had a very enjoyable holiday in number 10, helped along by the weather and a lovely outside terrace to enjoy. Thank you.

  • "It was not good it had not been cleaned when we got there at 15."

15 the girls arrived we had to sit out side why they cleaned it they had not been told there was anybody going in that week . The roof was leaking doors sticking bulbs flashing on and off . The gutters are blocked weeds growing out of them meaning when it rains the water went on the concrete keeping us awake . So not good at all the whole place looked in loved needs a lot of TLC

Thank you for your valuable feedback. I have spoken with the two “girls” today and they inform me that you arrived at 1510 just as they were finishing mopping the floor. They informed me that they explained to you that they had run slightly late due to some other lodges they cleaned being “messy.” They further said that you were very receptive and stated “it’s no problem these things happen”. With regards the “leak”. You reported this to Pure Leisure reception who called me. I explained this is a small water ingress from a fixed vent on the ceiling of the lodge ( part of the ventilation system in the kitchen). This very rarely occurs if there is torrential rain from a very specific direction. Pure Leisure called me back to say they informed you and you were happy informing them that there was no water ingress the following day. I have checked the property and the gutters are still clean from when I cleaned them all a few weeks ago along with pressure washing the exterior. ( all exterior decking was also painted and new furniture added). The lodge is open plan but any doors operate freely and there are no issues with the lighting. I apologise if your experience was different and thank you for taking the time to let me know. I trust you still enjoyed your stay despite the inclement weather. Thanks , Chris Property Owner

  • "Although the cottage(caravan) was relativity clean, most of the dishes were dirty and had to be put through the dishwasher."

Outside light by entrance door did not work so had to use a torch at night. Toilet seat in the en-suite bathroom was very loose. main bedroom 2-3M from main road so my wife and I hardly slept, Boys beds were very uncomfortable and they struggled sleeping, double quilt in a king size cover so all got tangled in the night, No mention that the pool and Gym advertised is £150 for a family for the week and no life guard so parent had to be in the pool even though they are both good swimmers. not very good for families. If we new all that above I would not have booked this property. To say that we are all upset is an understatement.

Thanks for your valuable feedback and apologies for any disappointment. The advert does mention the extra payable for the leisure facilities but I sincerely apologize that it caused issue. All points have been addressed and corrected- I do offer the opportunity to contact us during your stay rather than reporting retrospectively . My daughter, locally, would have gladly helped out if you had made us aware via the various numbers that are left available. The road is a minor B class road to the sleepy hamlet of Borwick. I am chasing an enquiry re the bedding and dishes, especially as I don't posses any King Size covers and certainly not on the single kids beds. I trust you still enjoyed your stay and thank you for taking the time to give the feedback to help me to ensure that I can continue to share my holiday retreat with others. • "The lodge was lovely and comfortable."

The outdoor furniture however is rusty and could with replacing also the posts on the patio area need cleaning and the decking could do with a paint. The steps up to the lodge are dangerous 3 front slats kept falling off and had to be pushed back on. There is a main road behind the lodge which is very noisy. There is nowhere within walking distance to eat and the lakeside restraunt is closed on Monday and Tuesday ....its peak season! We went at 6.15pm on the Wednesday to be told they are not taking any more orders ...they really need to be able to cater for the amount of people staying its August so get more staff? We found some nice walks but there is nothing much around the actual site. It may be an idea to provide a welcome pack luckily I took my own washing up liquid as none in the lodge. All in all the lodge was comfortable but could do with some TLC.

We where exited to see the accommodation as soon as we arrived and saw the quality of the properties on the well laid out site. We were not disappointed as we where greeted by a family of ducks who came back to visit every day of our stay. The property was spotless on arrival and situated within easy reach of the the stunning North West coastline and the amazing Lake District. A nice touch was the smart TV's to settle down to watch your favourite movie when you get back from a day out visiting the lakes. Although we ate out most of our holiday it was nice to come back and relax with a coffee on the decking in the early evening to watch the sunsets. This is a holiday we will surely return to in the near future.

Thank you so much for the positive feedback. I am so pleased that you had such a great time. Best wishes, Chris Property Owner

  • "Had a nice stay at number 10,weather was fantastic and the lodge's location made getting about nice and easy."

Booking process and communication was spot on. Lodge overall was good but wasn't without issues,a dripping tap in the kitchen was annoying and the smell from the drains in the bathroom was terrible,I'm sure somebody is already aware as a can of tesco air freshener had been left in there to try to mask it.The outside area of the lodge needs some tlc, stained wooden flooring and covered in spiders cobwebs and although comfortable the table and chairs needed cleaning before use and have probably reached the end of their lifespan as they are very badly rusted . I don't want to be to critical because feedback is not always read the way its been written , we had a nice stay but these things need addressing. One final thing please ask people who stay to sign out of their netflix accounts, when we went onto netflix we were met with an offensive user name, obviously humourous to one person but not to all and I found it very embarrassing to see it sat there with my 71 Yr old mum. I'm not going to post it but can be supplied to owner if requested.

Thanks for your feedback and notes. I am glad that you enjoyed your stay. Drains is a general thing that has been fed back to the site management. All points are in the process of being addressed although guests user names are beyond my control. Thanks again for your valued comments, Chris Property Owner

There is a road quite close by but this didnt disturb us at night. The lodge was very clean and so well equiped, it has everything you could possibly need for a perfwct holiday. Communication was really good. It was easy to book. The park itself is so quiet and peaceful, there is a pond and the ducks come and visit everyday. • "We book South lakes twice a year, this site is owned by South Lakes but not actually on the main site which we found really disappointing, it's across a busy road and looks like a basic caravan site."

The main site is great with onsite pub, pool etc - this sadly does not compete. It states in the listing positioned on South Lakeland Leisure Village, but be aware not on the main site (I did not even know there was a separate site and we have been visiting for several years). When you do walk across there is no pavement as you walk down to the pub/facilities so be aware. Static caravan it's self is nice but basic, beds are really uncomfortable and very small, we came home early as my partner could not stand it anymore. I know it's self catering but no small welcome pack, no washing up liquid etc - small things which mean you don't need to go out right away. Also the baking trays and frying pans are full of burnt on grease, I went and bought a new one and brought home as did not want to use them. Sadly this one is not for us.

Thank you for your feedback. I note the comments re the site. I would add that photos of the site are contained in the property description from where you made your booking. Thank you for the information re the baking trays and pans all of which have now been replaced with new ones. There is always a welcome pack with washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets , dish cloths and spare bin bags. Generally speaking there is also spare washing up liquid etc. under the sink. Comments noted re the beds but that said they are all brand new good quality mattresses. I have now added mattress 'toppers' although my own experience of the beds was different during my last stay in December. Thanks again for your valuable feedback which I have acted upon as above. • "On arrival we found christmas decorations still in place."

Carpets had not been hoovered as we found crisps on carpet in living area and dead flies on the carpet in the master bedroom. Shower screen in onsuite had not been cleaned from previous occupants. Decking could do with a good clean as very slippy with green mildew. Beds very uncomfortable, so much so we came home 3 days early.

Thank you for your feedback which is always helpful. I have contacted my property manager re your comments. She takes dated photos after each clean. The dated photos presented to me showed the shower screen was clean and all carpets from the photos 'appear' vacuumed and clean. I apologise if this was not your actual experience. With regard christmas decorations - there have never been any christmas decorations. It was actually a phone comment from a previous guest that there were none in place. Your comment re the beds is noted. I stayed at the property in Dec and this was not my assessment of the beds. These are brand new mattresses , I have however now purchased mattress toppers in response to your valued comments. Thank you again for your comments, Chris Property Owner

  • "Number 10 is a very nice lodge in a pleasant location."

We enjoyed our stay and overall the lodge was well equipped and comfortable. However the duvet on the double bed was falling apart and was dirty . Also the mattresses weren't comfortable and did not have mattress protectors on and the double was stained. One other problem was that although we were provided with the code for the key safe we weren't given the code for the security barrier. I went to the reception and was given an incorrect code. Fortunately someone in another lodge gave me the right code.

Thank you for your feedback. I can confirm that there are mattress protectors fitted to all mattresses ( also protectors on all pillows) but it seems that you stripped the bed on your departure and removed the mattress cover at that time - it was found amongst the used bed linen. On reading your comments I immediately ordered a new duvet ( as I am away from UK right now). When my property manager actually checked the duvet it was found to be fine - it is only a couple of months old. The brand new duvet was already ordered so is now in place. All codes should be passed to you by Sykes prior to the date of your booking. I have chased up on this and thank you for letting me know. Regards, Chris Property Owner
