  • "It's the second time we've stayed at Eusebank."

It's a clean, spacious, well laid out property, with generous off-road parking, and an excellent location, both for Pooley Bridge itself and also for exploring the surrounding Lakeland. We'd certainly consider booking again in future.

Good parking, essential in Pooley. The bungalow itself, although rather dated inside, is lovely and warm, very comfortable and now has an electric fire , much easier than the coal one.The TV has also been updated but no Netflix.!. Wi-fi is now good. The information book supplied is rather out of date, e.g references to Howtown Hotel and Sharrow Bay Hotel..plus other out of date information. An excellent convenient and comfortable holiday home.

Location excellent, hardly used the car at all. Many walks from the doorstep, head to the stone circle and see the wild horses on the fell. Steamer across to Glenridding and walks up to Hellvelyn. Lots of water activity on Ullswater, paddleboards, swimming etc.Recommend the secret garden and the Crown for food. Would return.

Comfortable, cosy cottage ,so close to the village Center. Unfortunately we couldn’t take full advantage of all the excellent walks from the doorstep, both being elderly and slightly disabled. We did however find lots of interesting places to visit within a short drive. The weather was mixed while we were there and it would have been nice to have Internet connection, mainly to see the hourly weather forecast in the area .we hope to return again with our daughter and son in law in the future.

  • "A very pleasant and conveniently located property, both for access to the village and also to walks in every direction."

The proximity of boat trips offering access to locations on Ullswater was another plus. The facilities in the property, particularly in the kitchen, were easily understood. The only gadget which seemed to be missing - and this is a minor quibble (perhaps I simply couldn't find it) - was a sieve or strainer. All in all, it was a very pleasant stay, blessed in addition with very fine weather.

Extremely convenient for local amenities, shops, pubs , eating places etc and a short stroll to the lake. Lots of walks from the door from short walks around Dunmallard to long walks like the Ullswater Way, and of course easy access to Ullswater steamers. On site parking for several cars plus local bus services. The bungalow is very clean and comfortable with excellent heating, although a little bit dated. Only real downside is lack of wi-fi... • "We found it an imposition to expect us as customers at the price we paid for our weeks stay to be expected to strip beds and pillows etc and place them in a laundry bag prior to our departure, we are elderly, in our 70's."

But wish to add that our Daughter who stayed at another of your properties a few weeks ago feels exactly the same with same circumstances. Finally we would add this would not be expected or accepted in a hotel or similar.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback, we are sorry that you are unhappy with the policy of removing the used bedding and placing it in the laundry bag. If you had made us aware of any concerns we would have let the owner know and told them linen would still be on the beds when the cleaners arrived. Due to covid concerns we have advised our owners to ask guests to remove the linen for the safety and well being of themselves or their housekeeping team. Sykes customer relations. Property Owner

Very clean and contained everything we needed. Lots of space in all the rooms and a great drive and garden. Great location a few minutes from Pooley Bridge centre which had a few pubs and shops and some great walks. We walked to the boats and spent a day travelling across Ullswater taking in each stop and a few pubs and shops on the way. The only disappointment was a surprise visit part way through our break from the owner which we thought was a bit intrusive. Also a visit from the gardener on Friday afternoon which interrupted me revising for an exam.

The cottage is a short walk from the center of Pooley Bridge, far enough away to be very quiet (weekends can get a bit busy at Pooley Bridge), but near enough to be able to walk into the center of the village in 5 mins. The cottage has a small rear garden which is well maintained, private and is a lovely sun trap. It also has it's own drive, so off street parking is a real bonus. Pooley Bridge itself is a beautiful location which is served by 4 pubs serving food, an excellent cafe and several small shops. About the location

POOLEY BRIDGE

Penrith 6 miles.

The picturesque village of Pooley Bridge sits on the northerly edge of Lake Ullswater in the Lake District National Park. The name Pooley came to be due to the forming of a large pool, which was left by the fast flowing River Eamont, and the word Bridge was later added when a bridge, which is now 250 years old, was built over the river. Pooley Bridge has many traditional inns and tempting tea rooms, plus the Ullswater Steamers depart from the village, from where a tranquil cruise down the lake to the villages of Glenridding and Howtown can be enjoyed. There are numerous walks with breathtaking views nearby, plus a short walk up to Dunmallard Hill reveals fascinating Iron-Age remains, whilst the towns of Penrith and Keswick are within driving distance. Pooley Bridge is an ideal base for a cottage holiday stay in the stunning Lake District.
